Yes, got a call a few weeks ago. Tried to call back and no one answered. I suspected then that it was a scam. The IRS refund they claimed on my voice mail was way above the amount that I am getting back. SCAM !!!!

got a call from this number and a represenative name Mark stated they work for the IRS and gave me his ID# . Agent stated they audit my return the past 3 years and stated I did not file correctly and the IRS owes me an addtional $2,173.00 but I had to pay a $200.00 penalty before they could send my refund.  They had all my info, Old Banking, Old address SS# everything. Once I told him to send me a letter with all this information, i will contact gthe IRS and set up a payment plan.. He stated "ok" and hung up.. I contacted my bank and changed my account #..

I received a call yesterday from 2028034833, saying that his name was John and Badge# 08644 with the IRS. he stated that I messed up my taxes and I was entitled to a refund of $2173.00 and there was a penalty of $200.00. I needed to verify my account and give them my credit card info...right then I told him that I knew he wasnt with the IRS, when i told him that he HUNG up!!! Please be careful and not fall for this scam....IRS will send you a letter informing you that if you are entitled a refund they will not call you regarding refunds....

they called me with the same mess, but they assed up I don't work for the irs, but I am an registered tax preparer and I know the irs doesn't take "greendot" payments, #smh

Ever hear of the US Government using "Green Dot" as a payment method? You are aware that Green Dot is a wire transfer, similar to Western Union. In other words, CASH. Cash that can be picked up, & cannot be traced, or recovered. Sound like something the Government would use? This is a VERY old, & simple Nigerian advance fee scam. When you get a phone call, email, or text, and ANY form of wire transfer payment is mentioned - scam. 100% every time.

Agents stated I had to go to 7/11 and us Green Dot Money Bag to send the $200.00 so they could start the process of my refund. They had all my info, Banking, address SS# everything. bit this sounded to good to be true

I just received a phone call supposedly from the IRS Tax Refund Department saying that I was going to get a refund of $2173, but that I needed to call 202-803-4833 to verify my personal information so that the money can be deposited into my account.  I knew this was too good to be true.  The IRS doesn't call anybody, not unless you owe them money!  They sure aren't going to call you to say they owe you money. I knew this was a scam even before I verified it here online.

This # 202 803 4833 and 202 697 9205 keeps calling me telling me they are the IRS and I have a credit and I need to call them and they will credit my account,once my information has been verified. (SCAM) cause I always have to pay. The IRS already has my info. So they need to stop calling me.

When they called me the caller gave an "ID #" and wanted me to verify the last 4 numbers of my ss#. When I did he said he needed to verify more info. When I asked why because the IRS has all my info, he hung up. He had an east indian accent.

Please don't give these jokers any of your information.  We called the IRS and they are aware of the number and trying to shut them down. L

Yeah, I just got the same call from 202-803-4833. They claim to have an IRS payment adjustment for $2,1073.
So, when I called back, they wanted me to verify personel information. I told them no and to mail me any  info they may have and they hung up in my face. I know the IRS is bad, but they are not that ruthless. Don't give them any info. They are trying to steal your info.

I got a call from the 202-803-4833 saying to call the IRS for an adjustment of my refund of $2,035. I knew it was a scam but I call the IRS to tell them that this scan is happening and I was told by the IRS that the only time they call is from their collections department.  If you have an adjusment to your return, they will inform you by mail.

Please be careful in giving out your information.
