Is this a scam or what?I get enough email scams I don't need them on the phone.THey never ask for my name  also have you ever noticed when it gets near christmas you will get a lot of these kinds of call?Always around the holidays.

I keep getting calls from this number with no message.  Very very annoying.

I don't know why these people have to keep calling all of the time,is it perhaps they have nothing else to do with there life?

THey called me again yesterday but instead of getting a computerized message somebody asked for someone that doesn't even live here.They said that they were sorry and hung up.That is the first time that I got a human on  the other side of the phone.Just wish that they would stop bothering me.

Resolution to this problem,  along with any other unwanted calls:
1). Called number back to get contact information, listed as follows> National Foundation of Cancer Research,  1.202.870.5887, (automated system).

2). Took option to remove our phone number from their "call list".  Then hung up.

3). Prior to this call,  I also went on line and placed this phone number on the "DO NOT CALL" list, using the  " NATIONAL DO NOT CALL DIRECTORY".

 These two actions should help eliminate this particular call,  while monitoring future in coming calls will minimize future interruptions.

Received this call twice this week, (1.202.870.5887).  No one answered on the other side of this phone call, so I promptly hung up.

 Not certain if the caller is "automated, with some sort of hang up",  if it the caller was too shy to speak...... (yeah right).

 My gut feeling is the usual solicitors running their routine scams.  My corrective action here is,  "If you do not recognize the numbers, then simply let the "answering machine" pick it up.  If it is important, you can screen it out, then call them back".  

 If your phone service provider does not offer "answering services",  then one could make a purchase, very reasonably, at store like "TARGET, WAL-MART" etc.

 Look for the answering machine that has the "CALLER ID" (most do), to help you screen the calls.

If they're calling from or on behalf of a non-profit it doesn't matter whether or not you're on the do not call list.

I just called this number and got a recorded message which said press 1 for more details about Cancer Research, so I did and was given the option at the end of the recording to enter my number if I no longer want to receive these calls- I guess it's worth a try!

Got another call from this number this morning I said hello four times no answer since my mom was here she grabbed the phone and said hello three times and no answer,so we finally hung up.She told me that she gets phone calls like that all of the time.If they ask for Luis Lopaz I just hang up too,because nobody by tha tname lives here.I am getting sick of these calls.So I finally decided not to pick up the phone anymore espcially if someone calls and I  don't reconise there number,it is getting to be a pain in the rear phone calls every single day.I have enough to worry about,then stupid people calling me just to hassle me.If they want money then why don't they just work for a living?An honest job!!!

This number is calling my phone 3-4 times a day and is a nuisance -no one answers when I pick up and our number is on the Do not call Registry

Asking for donation for cancer research?  Kept wanting form of payment over phone---wouldn't give it to them...

I just got a call from them and no answer sO I hung up,this could be a scam.
