They've called my home home phone, and when I answered, they hung up. A few days later, I got another call from a similar number (205-314-3062), with the same results. As soon as I say "hello", they hang up.

As soon as I answer they hang up,

They call my house every night and hang up when my husband answers. They ask specifically for me.  I have no idea who this is.

Supposedly its the Alabama Sherriffs Association.

Called with no ID, didnt leave message. Never have given them a cent, seems like they would stop bothering me. Hey- try spending what you have more effectivly and you wont have to beg for more.

I work for this company. What it is, is that we are paid by the Alabama Sheriff's Association to make cold calls to random numbers. It's not our fault but we need jobs too you know. It's not like we enjoy being cussed at and turned down but it pays the bills.

Got a call from 205-314-0998 claiming to be from the Alabama Sheriff's Association. Called the number back and I got the automated message that the number has been disconnected.

This number rang about 11:54 this morning.  I did not pickup, no message was left.

This number has called me three times in 4 days.  Each time I answer the hang up.  I am the only adult in the house right now and I makes me a little nervous. I called them back this time and it says the number is not in service. I have blocked the number.  If they are claiming to be the Sheriff's dept or whatever I don't trust them one bit.  It is obviously a scam.  Why in the world would they be calling from an unreachable number.

Caller ID registered as "UNAVAILABLE". Caller was very pushy. I don't know if this is a Sheriff Department employeee or paid solicitor. Does not represent the Sheriff's Department very well.

I e-mailed the Alabama Sheriff's Association to complain.  We'll see if they do anything about it.

I have asked them REPEATEDLY not to call me.  I can never get them when I return a call; they usually don't leave a message and one time someone called and it sounded like he was in a bar.

My nephew was killed in the line of duty with the Jackson County, MS Sheriff's Department in 2000.  I support the NLEOF.

Just got a call from 1-205-314-0998 today at 5:22p.m..  When I answered the phone and said hello, the person on the other end hung up.  I tried calling back but only got a busy signal.

The phone rang and I answered it. No one aaid anything and then they hang up. When I tired to call the number back it rang three times and them as if someone answered the phone and hung up. I am so tired of these calls can't we do anything to stop them.

and another thing,if someone did give,
what percent would go straight to the needy ones
and what percent would be kept for yourselves?
when asked these questions, why do you hang up without
an answer? What proof do I have that my money would go
straight to the needy ones? It could go in a fire pile
for all I know.
what about Taxes? don't you get enough of that?

also aren't they Required by Law to take someone Off

also the number caller Id picks up comes back disconnected
so they can't be called back.

Or is someone calling from the 0998 number Pretending to represent
the association when they don't?

Also when the 0998 number is called back its disconnected.
If its legit, then why spoof numbers?

I was counting Pennies last night to pay for
my 3 kids Lunch money, worried I would not have
enough pennies to pay for reduced School Lunch of
40 cents a day per kid.
I was also worrying about how to get gas
because I'm broke and on Empty.
Then who calls? These idiots call me at 8:30 on Sunday Night
asking Me for money! What nerve of these people!
I can't afford school lunch money or gas
and they want money from me. Thats just Low.
I don't even have Pennies now, it all went to the School.
I'm really really Broke! no pennies, no nothing.
They won't get nothing here. I need donations myself!

They tax the hell out of us in Alabama, even tax Food,
we don't have any extra left to give donations,

Got a call from "Steve" with the Alabama Highway Patrol Association.  When I told him that I'd like him to take my number off the list (it's a home-business line), he hung up on me.  When I tried to call back, I got a recording that the number was not valid.

This caller called last night and blocked the number, it was the Alabama Sheriff Association wanting donations, I told them no, and they hung up, then tonight this number was on the caller id, not blocked this time, but i didnt answer it. I am so tired of telemarketers and people calling for donations, i need some donations myself!!!

called after 9:00 as I got to the phone picked it up no one there, then dialed the # back a fast busy.The person on the other end better be glad I couldn't come throught the line because they would not be walking around today.
