Sam Smith(209)259-6672 called my cell phone this morning saying he was with Federal Investigations and there is a complaint against me for 3 Federal Crimes. he said I couldnt't get a copy of the complaint unless I paid to have this taken care of right away. He has a heavy accent-Indian I believe. He had my cancelled email address and my old street address. I wouldn't pay the fees he said I could pay so he threatened to have me aressted in the next hour. I still refused to pay or give him my location address and hung up.

I received a call from Sam Smith. Same as the above. knew from start it was a scam. He threatened to contact local police. After hanging up he somehow called me back masking his number to look like the local pd. My cell phone rang and the incoming number was that of the local pd. The person who answered claimed he was an officer with the local pd. I fortunately know just about all of them and not only did the name not ring a bell but no one had his accent. Just to flush it out completely I called the pd and they obviously confirmed there is no officer by that name. Total scam.

This is an update on Sam Smith from my part.  I knew from the start that this person was a con artist ripping people off.  I have been reading other complaints about how this person kept on calling to harass them. Since I knew this was a scam, I treated him the same way regarding phone calling.  I called him every 5 minutes to tell him hi was a fraud, a roach, a thief and that he was breaking so many laws. He asked me to stop calling (HE ASKED TO STOP CALLING HIM)and hung up... I kept on calling him and my calls where now going to his voice mail. I expressed and exercised my first amendment rights on the voice mails. He again picked up the phone and told me to stop calling him or he would have me prosecuted. Hang up again. Again, I called him and he answered. he ones again asked to stop calling or he was going to prosecute me.  I begged him to please sue me.  I want to see his *%&(* : ) in court and watch him been arrested for wire fraud, for impersonating an officer and many other crimes he has committed. He hang up again. I called him again.  He asked to please stop calling him. He asked what can I do for you to stop calling me? I told him he need it to apologies for attempting to rip me off. His answer was NO and hang up again. I did not give up and called him again. By this time he was more nervous and begged to stop calling him. I told him he knew what to do... He paused and said "I apologies and will not call you again."  I laugh and told him "That is not what I have asked you to say" he then tried again and finally said "I apologizes for attempting to rip you off". I told him to get a real job just like every hard working earning money american instead of stealing from others and to treat others the way he wants to be treated.  -If I find out he has called anyone I know with the intention to defraud them from their hard earn money, i will call him again.  If any of you get a phone call form Sam Smith who wants to read an affidavit and threatening to have you arrested (without due process)with a different number posted and share it with every friend and family member. spread it out. Let this criminals know they know their scam and turn the tables on them lets send a Tsunami of phone calls to their phone and lets exercise our first amendment right....

The company who has been calling you is probably a scammer. There is no evidence that they actually exist. They are probably criminals who have found your information online. Unless you receive written notification ( within 5 days of first contact. this is federal law) there is no reason to treat them as a real company. They may threaten you to scare you into paying them,(saying you will be arrested) but there is nothing they can actually do. Do not give them anything they ask for. File a complaint with your state attorney general's office or contact the new government agency which has been set up to handle consumer complaints

This guy Sam Smith keeps calling asking for my mom by her first and last name, thing is that my mom recently passed away, she lost battle against cancer. I am having an EXTREMELY hard time with the loss of my mom,as is the whole family! I did expect some calls from unpaid bills ect.. we are a family thats always lived check to check, that is why I knew some  collectors would be calling for the most part I found that most are sympathetic and feel bad for the call but I also know they doing there job,and most after apologizing  excepted a maild or faxed copy of her death certificate. But this guy was SO VERY RUDE,after days of calls and extreme pain from the loss, this S.O.B calls (not 1-not 2-) but 3 different times all the calls I have explained to them about my moms passing but this piece of SH** tells me he don't believe me,says he gonna send police to arrest my mom, then ask me if I can pay this bill (witch is a scam) and I said no then he ask me what did I do all day just sit around living off others!

yeah i keep getting calls from this number and they are saying they are officers and will arrest you if you or your lawyer do not return the calls and they are also requesting for you to verify your ssn. i will not do it and advise them to bring the police to my residence. they keep calling with threatening messages. when called back all they ask is for you to verify your ssn. maybe a bill collector or scammer...don't trust them at all.

heavily accented man says his name is sam smith and that i will be arrested at my home or job if i or my lawyer, representative doesn't call him back right away.  i recognized the number and let it go to voicemail.  he knows my first and last name. . . i received calls like this before and when i called them back, they want to "verify" my social security number and she (again with a similar accent) became very upset because i wouldn't cooperate.  i asked why i hadn't received any notice at all prior to her call by mail?  no viable response, etc. a total scam for more information and money from the susceptible.
