Same senario. Called and identified as Verizon Wireless rep. Asked me to participate in a survey whch  did but when he asked for my name I gave a ficticious name. He wanted to know if I was the owner of the account and I said yes. He then asked for the last 4 digits of my SS# and I told him I don't give it out and was not interested in what he had to offer. Call was from the state of Washington with a 206 area code. Beware, he sounded foreign.

the people who did this should feel pain and suffering. Instead of working they are out defrauding people and taking money from the government. I'll look for this guys wife and children and give them something back.
Verizon did a GREAT job and cleared this up for me immediately. As for the scum bag who does this, get off your lazy tail, stop taking drugs and go to work. Keep it simple people, criminals belong IN JAIL, not out in re-hab or half way houses. BUILD MORE JAILS and lock them all up. Good riddens loosers.

After saying he was verizon and would credit my account for 100 if I took a customer survey, he asked for some info to make sure i was the owner of the account -- name, zip code, and last four digits of ssn.  it is a scam.  they got two phones on my account plus other stuff.  took several hours working with verizon customer support the next day (8-19-12) to straighten things out.  i should know to never give any info to anyone who should already know!

I got a call (didn't answer) from this no but they did not leave a message.  Interesting thing that may or may not relate is that my debit card just got swiped.

Guy claimed he was a Verizon wireless representative who was doing a customer satisfaction survey & he said I would get a credit on my bill for participating. He asked a couple typical survey questions & then asked for my name; he did not ask for any other identifiable information. Latter on my cellphone didn't work. I tried logging on to my Verizon account online & it wouldn't let me log in & told me to call Verizon. I called & my number had gotten transferred to another phone earlier & had ran up some international charges. Verizon reactivated my phone & changed my passwords & took the charges off my account. I reported this to the Do Not Call Registry & told them what happened but I'd like it reported to more places.

Telemarketer
Said they were from Verizon, his name was Alex, asked  three questions about the service. Then he started asking questions, like my name and last 4 of the social number. I did not give him any info and suggest you do not either, if you call the number back it comes up as a magic jack subscriber.
