SKIP TEL on my caller ID.

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group.  They insist that they do not initiate illegal telemarketing calls, however they are involved in managing the calling lists for their "3rd party contractors" who make the telemarketing calls.

We have something similar to that - it's called the Do Not Call service.

Unfortunately, it doesn't do much good, partly because of the exemptions (political calls, surveys, and charity solicitations) and partly because of the blatent abusers who get away with it for a time and then disappear, to pop up again with another number.

It's politically unfeasible to delete the exemptions - those who want them have too much power in Congress.

It does help some, though. I've noticed a marked drop in telemarketing calls whenever I've registered a new number. It goes from intolerable to merely very annoying.

Missed a call from this number on my cell phone, April 16 @ 1:41pm.

THE NUMBER THAT CALLED ME WAS 206-496-0484.  IT WAS ALSO LISTED AS "SKIP TEL"

Phony survey that asks 3 political questions. If you complete the survey, it tells you that you won a free Caribbean cruise.
Then one of their scammers picks up the call and congratulates you on winning your Free cruise.
From there he asks alot of questions like if you're married, have you ever been on a cruise before, etc.  and finally if you own a credit card.
If you answer all the questions successfully the scammer reads a long agonizing script that details how much fun you're going to have.
Or course it isn't exactly free, you have to cough-up the mandatory "port fee" of $60 a person. They save that bit of information for the end of the script.

Why a political survey to sell a cruise? Because surveys are exempt from the Do No Call registry.

I wasted 19 minutes of their time and got alot of satisfaction doing it.

In a few hours after registering my three phone numbers at donotcall.gov, I received a call from 206-496-0492 on ALL THREE of my numbers.  These phone numbers are not related and not in sequential order, so it's obvious that this caller is hawking the donotcall.gov list and calling numbers that show up on it before the 31-day "grace period" is over.

This number calls my cell phone all the time, I refuse to answer it. They never leave a message. It is irritating because I am on the do not call registry. Please report it!

I tried calling and just get a busy signal.  I'm on the National No Call Registry, so they shouldn't be calling me.  I filed a complaint.  I suggest everyone else who is on the registry file a complaint also.  Maybe then, the calls will stop.

I got a call from this number 4/16 at 9:45 a.m.  I am so-o sick of stupid calls from people who can't get a real job - another reason for the economy to improve, all you Presidential candidates!  No wonder people are dropping landlines like crazy - one less phone line to receive crap calls.

This number called my and my wife's cell number so this company had to get our numbers from Sprint.  Sprint must be selling our numbers to POS scam companies.  I will be calling Sprint ASAP!
