It was a pre-recorded message with a bunch of questions.

I have paid for my unlisted private number for over 16 years, while being on every do not call list since inseption. Bainbridge I Wa. # 206-319-3643 obtained  this number illegally and continues to try wake me up after working all night. I have filled a complaint with the Do Not Call people.

Well they just called me at 8:43PM and requested me by name so they must have bought a list from someone inthat my number is unlisted and I am on the do not call list (who knows, maybe that is the list they are using).  When they ask for me by name and asked if I was in, I said "That depends on who is calling" and they then hung up.  I had to call *69 to get the number.  I cant tell you how sick I am of these groups getting around the do not call list and constantly pestering people.

THIS GUY IS A SCAM.  LOOK HIM UP ON THE STATE OF WASHINGTON'S CHARITY PAGE.  THEY KEEP A HUGE AMOUNT OF THE DONATIONS FOR THEMSELVES, AND GIVE MERE PENNIES.  BEWARE!  THEY (YOU)  OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.

These bozos incessantly call me, mornings, evenings, whenever. Their damn "auto-dialers" couldn't care less if I'm eating dinner, watching a ball game on TV, or if I'm even in bed. And, as others have already noted on this forum, this isn't really a police organization. It's some scuzzy fund raising outfit that MAYBE actually turns over 3% of the money they make to the police. Obviously, they get enough suckers to contribute to make it profitable. JUST SAY NO!!!

This number called me today. I have filed a complaint with the national registry.  They're calling themselves "Corporation for Character".  They're seeking "donations" for Police & Sheriff's.

This is not legit....it is a scam.  I recommend you do not respond to whoever is calling from this number.  This is just an opinion.  They asked for "the woman of the house".  When I asked what the call was regarding, he got confused.  I asked again what he wanted....he got more confused and hung up.  If they were fundraising, what would it matter if they talked to a woman or man?

Although my caller ID says "WA FOP",  the call I got but didn't answer on 1/13/2011 was actually from "Corporations For Character, LC". I know this because I called back and the recording says the call is from CFC and they are a paid solicitor for WA FOP.
I hit 2, then 5, then 5, and was told by robot I would be put on the WA FOP do not call list. I'm not sure that will do it. The site for the National Do Not Call Registry has this info in a FAQ

This group is soliciting for the WA Police.  They call as late as 8:45 PM.  I'm on the "do not call" and whatever happened to the rule of not calling after 8:00?

Prolly cuz Countrywide Home Loans had a Data breach a while back and now crooks have my info and are calling to shnook me out of money I dont have.

If you want to donate money to the Seattle Police Department, you can contact the Seattle Police Foundation.  THey do a lot of fundraising for the Seattle Police Department and they work closely with SPD.  McGruff is through the National Crime Prevention Council.  It has websites and crime prevention resources.  If you want to donate to them, you can contact them through their website I am sure.  Every police department in the state will have some way that you can donate money to them directly.

I'm truly sick of these people. They call late and repeatedly even though we have asked them not to and are on the "do not call" list.

I don't get calls or telemarketers very often; almost never.  But today I made a police report and the dispatcher broadcast my number on their radio to the field patrolman.  And less than 6 hours latter a call came in from this 206-866-1925.  And most of these sites seem to agree it is somehow police fundraising related or a scam that masquerades as a police fundraiser.  Weird!!  Makes me think they have access to the phone numbers that come into local dispatches and go out over the police radios.

This phone number calls every couple of days; during the day and even just now at 8:15 pm.  They need to be reported for harrassment and solicitation.

Called @ 8:11pm on 08/04/2010. Rang three times and hung up. Didn't make it to the phone on time so I tried calling back...fast busy. Went to Google, researched number, found this site, thought I'd join in. Conclusion on call...Scam. Conclusion on "snow"...Employee or proprietor of said Scam. EaD "snow".

we're having the same problem with this number! they've been calling early in the morning or late at night! i haven't gotten to the phone in time to stop the answering machine from picking up and of course they wont leave a message. i've tried to call them back but just a busy signal...
they are getting annoying and i wonder why you have a do-not-call list if people like this still call...

I just received a phone call from this number (not the first time). Everytime I haven't been able to get to the phone in time and I dial them back but get a busy signal.  I would like to say thanks for all of the post making people aware of what's going on with this organization.  I will block their number from now on.

When these people call, it is called badge fraud, we are currently tracking about 1200 phone number they use to scam people.  The FOP, the Officer Down Foundation, The Police Protective Fund, Phil Leconte, David Deirks, David Fair, June Mellon. What a bunch of has been illegal fundraisers. There is a new day coming. I promise you that much.


Sometimes these people tell you they need bullet proff vests forthe officer, what a crock, when is the last time you saw a cop with out one. These people raise millions using Mitch Golds techniques, and then laugh in your face, the courts face that told them to stop. California during "Operation False Charity"  last year told them again, Missouri got a 450,000 judgement from them for committing fraud in that state. This is a total scam, 90% of your money gets eaten up by the professional fundraiser, then they take half a million in management expenses for 3 members of 1 family. These people are taking money raised in the name of officers killed in the line of duty and are using it to fund million dollar houses and bentleys. Look up Civic Development Group is you want to see some of the riches these people aquire on the backs of dead cops. Its disgusting.

Mitch Gold knows all about the sales techniques they are using on you, they are unethical at best, and outright fraud at worst, not one single peopson that calls you from these companies is a cop, but they all say it all day long, this is so and so with the nashville police or the montgomery county sheriff. They sau things like dont worry, your not in trouble or anything when you know your not, they are trying to intimidate you and get you out of your comfort zone so they can move in for the kill on your wallet. They divert your attention with a great sounding program while they pick your pocket while you are in the ether of the pitch.

Dont forget if you get a call, get as much info as possible and post it to every site like 800notes so you can help to catch these people, your neighbors will love you, we promise. and call your local cops and sheriff and media, they especially hate these people because it is their kids they are taking the money from.

Never give over the phone, the guy on the other end is about 90% fraud 10% real program. Just enough to get you to give them unrestricted funds so they can spend it on diners at ruth chris steak house and booze. The fop is a club. The Officer Down Foundation is a scam. Similar, but the FOP is legal but I still would not give them a dime. I might buy a gift or two for the christams with cops or cops for kids, but I would give the toy, not the money. Plus I would feel better since I made it personal for the kid, cash is never personal.


Now we are monitoring this phone number too, look like a new one.

Dont forget to report this scam to your local police and media, they dont like this kind of stuff. These people are using fraudulent techniques and I dont think they can stop on their own. The courts in several states have not been able to stop them. I bet we can, and we can quick if you call your local police, sheriff and media.

I have been getting calls from these people for months now and they won't quit.  When I try to ask questions, they hang up.  Must be a scam.  Wish someone would put a stop to them.

I Got a call from this number.. and it scared the crap out of me.. and they shouldnt call so late. That should be a sign for all you guys reading. I was very uncomfortable. I honestly felt that this was wrong and that something was up. they should shut these idiots down. PLease! I dont need any nightmares.

You can not call the number back.  I just got another call and as soon as you ask if they are a not for profit organization, they hang up on you, this is the second time it has happened. SCAM ALERT!!!

It's obvious they're using dial-around systems. Even though 206-866-1925 appears to be from Bainbridge Island, it could just as easily be routed from a boiler room in Davenport, IA.

Are these guys registered with the State Attorney General? If so, they've got to provide a physical location. And not just a post office box or a mail drop. You know what means. I know what it means to me, anyway.

I was curious as to who I report this number to? They call ALL THE TIME. I don't generally answer the phone, they never leave a message. Finally my bf answered when they called at 7AM on a sunday and they claimed to be the FOP, and asked for a $100 donation, and my bf politely told him we don't have that kind of money, and the person on the other end said well this is for a good cause, and we do a lot of great things for your community. Again my bf replied nicely with sorry, we can't please put us on your do not call list. Then the guy asked him for $75, and my bf just hung up on him. They've called at least 6 times since then, tonight at almost 9PM and again at 9:20PM.

Like I just replied, this organization is CRAP.  100% BS.  I had donated to this STATE PATROL and ALSO the STATE Firefighters Organizations religiously for YEARS.  UNTIL I heard on local news that these organizations are not VOLUNTEERS calling on behalf of doing the things they say they do such as crime prevention in schools with McGruff, etc.

They run as a business (I'm an Accountant, so I was livid) and they only donate 1% - 3% of each dollar you donate.  So, if you were like me you got taken.  I use to donate $50 to the State Patrol, and they only give like $.50 to $1.50 out of the $50.  It's a complete SCAM.  I've told them that I was on to them as saw on the news of these folks and a run down in the paper of all organizations and how much they actually donate as a percentage of their total revenue (incoming donations).  This organization along with the FIREFIGHTERS for the State are on the same boat.  They are SCUM.

I've told them time and time again, do not call me.  They continue to call and hang up when I answer.  I guess maybe they can sweet talk my wife.  Not going to happen, she's been informed.  Awareness is the key to everything.  Once a person is aware, action can take place.  I feel violated for giving in excess of over $1,000 in the last 10 years to know that maybe the organization they say they represent only got $10 to $30 out of that $1,000 I donated.

Now, you are asking yourself well why would the State Patrol or the State Firefighters even ALLOW this organization to do this in their name?  The reason I was told is that a little donation is better than no donation so that is why they allow them to us their name in the non-integrious activity these companies engage in.

Sorry to be so upset, I'm a volunteer at the YMCA for over 10 years and I've called people every year asking for money so I know how hard it is to call friends asking for money.  The only difference was that 100% of the money the folks donated to the YMCA's Partners with Youth Program actually went to Scholarships so kids with disabilities or didn't have the financial resources could use the YMCA's programs.

Absolute B***s***, you must work for their company.  I have donated to this organization for years.  I am a volunteer at our YMCA and their treasurer and I personally make calls asking for donations so I know how hard it is.  I recently discovered that THEY ARE A BUSINESS they aren't the Police or Volunteers for the POLICE, State Patrol, and even the other numbers that are representatives of the FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Being an Accountant I thought all the money I donated each year went to McGruff stop crime, prevention, school stuff, etc.  I found out that less than 3% of your donation actually makes the benefit they name off.  The only reason why the State Patrol and Firefighters even allow them to continue this is because they get a little money vs. no money at all.

I just had these folks call me again, I've told them time and time again I found out how their business is ran and to take me off their call list.  They refuse and just called at 8 PM.  I'm reporting them.
