I do not have a Wells Fargo account. I may call them to see what info I can get them to give me and call the local PD (I have the same area code).

Apparently they have a few numbers, but the text is the same. Before this came through, my branch manager called me personally to tell me about this attempt to defraud people, even non wells fargo customers. If there is an issue with your account, someone will call you on the telephone, never via text message.

I got the message that my card was de-activated, but I don't have a card.  They also called me at 10:00 PM, and I was asleep.

I GOT IT TOO ON MY CELL PHONE...

Got this same text message not 5 minutes ago.  Luckily I don't have Wells Fargo, so I know this is fake.

Got the same text from this number with the following text: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your CARD starting with 4868 has been DEACTIVATED.  Please contact us at: 206-476-7885."  This is a SCAM!! shopping for card numbers, do NOT call and provide your number.

Received two texts from "Wells Fargo" claiming that my account was deactivated and to call 206-497-7885.  Beware this is a scam and don't  make the call!

This is a scam text claiming that your Wells Fargo account card has been suspended.  The callback number given is 206-497-7885.  It is not legit.  Do not call back.

I got the same message - from 206.915.2104, asking me to call 206.497.7885.  I called Wells Fargo directly - this is a scam. IF they were to ask about a card, they would use the last four digits.  4868 is unique to Wells Fargo (as well as other first four digits - each bank has their own set) not to mention that this would be an inappropriate way to notify you that there is a problem with your acct.

I also got that text and knew it had to be phishing.  I also got a digital call from 877-736-0629 this morning that I declined that left a partial voicemessage that appeared to be the same thing.

We also got a text message from 206-915-2104 claiming to be Wells Fargo Bank, and to call 206-497-7885 for help with a deactivated credit card.  I didn't call back, since I have no Wells Fargo Bank account.

I just got a text on my phone that says, WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your Card starting with 4868 has been DEACTIVATED.  Please contact us at 206-497-7885.

I will call my bank to report it because they have never texted me before.

**SCAM** Text message from 206-915-2104 claiming to be Wells Fargo Bank, and to call 206-497-7885 for help with a deactivated credit card.  206-497-xxxx is a MagicJack phone number.

They are phishing for credit card numbers.  Don't call back.
