person called claiming to be from Microsoft support in Texas I just got rid of a Trojan horse virus 2 days ago that got in on my emails , windows 8 and my banking . it a male Asian with a real thick accent .I asked what town in Texas they were from and the zip code they didn't answer I then asked what was their phone number to call them back to their supervisor they then hung up I then called my phone carrier and they googled this number and all sorts of complaints came from this number

They are not listed with Charity Navigator. I am aware of other similarly self-described operations, and similarly named operations, which donate a pittance to the supposed beneficiaries, while pocketing the rest.

None of this proves anything about this particular operation, and I'm not passing judgement here, but it does point out the need to check them out carefully before donating to them.

My personal rule is that if they don't have a good report from Charity Navigator, or if they are overly aggressive in their solicitations, they don't get my money.

No "reputable" organization would cold call. No reputable organization would hire a clown like you to go on the internet and berate its victims (aka "jokers" and "ignorant people").

Thanks for clearing that up for anybody who didn't already figure out what kind of a scumbag organization you are.

You losers who are complaining about this call,  its the ARC, (which I just learned now going to the webpage),  which is a very reputable organization helping those in need.  I just got a call and looked up on-line who was calling and saw all these posts.   It's on a dialer system, which means a computer dialed the  call,  so if you don't answer in time, it does just hang up.  ARC doesn't leave messages because once they leave a message, I think, not sure  but, they are not allowed to call back for a couple of days. It looks like from the Executive Director Lisa that posted above said they are having some issues....give them a break and give them a chance to work out those issues.  Believe me or not if this was a sales call I would be all over it.  I appreciate Lisa/ARC making this notation so I know now who is calling and I won't block the number.  Sorry Lisa that you have to deal with these ignorant people.  Sometimes, ignorance can be greater than kindness.  They just need to understand that it is not a SALES call so the ARC is exempt from that DO NOT CALL list and maybe they will learn just how to block the number if they don't want calls.   Again Lisa, thanks for posting to this site so people that actually do care will know not to  block the number.   Oh and one last thing for you ignorant people, I have never met this lady and I bet she is really nice considering the work that she does.    Learn to Deal or block your number!!!!  You Jokers....,

I apologize for the frustrations that people posting these messages are experiencing.  I am the Executive Director of The Arc and we are responsible for the calls that you are getting.  In May 2013 we got a new predictive dialer.  We are trying to work out the bugs with it such as hanging up on people when they answer the phone and the # 319-7155 not being an active number to call back on.  The dialer is set to call phone numbers in our system 2-4 times per call cycle or until someone answers the phone.  Our cycles are set per area every 4-6 weeks.

As we are a nonprofit agency we are exempt from the Do Not Call List.  We do respect the wishes of people in our calling areas; therefore if you would like us remove to your name and number from our dialer for any reason please call us at 208-343-5583.  

Every 1-2 years we do add numbers back into the system because people change phone numbers and we want to capture as many numbers as we can to increase donations coming in the door.  All donations go back into The Arc providing supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I have an unpublished phone number... and an on the NO CALL LIST!

They (The ARC) are calling to ask about any donations and to set up a pick up time. They help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Someone from this number has called several times, including 2 times today.  They do not leave a message and the caller ID reads ARC then the number.  I am on the Do Not Call list and yet I get all sorts of weird calls and no messages.

I am getting calls from this number but they dont answer when I pick up.    grrrr!!!!
