I also encountered this man twice on 2 different sites but after viewing pics of the car and comparing it to the price, I knew it had to be a scam so through my google search, I have landed here. When I saw Lt. being listed with his name, it smelled fishy to me. I knew he did that only to make people comfortable with dealing with him. I'm a Registered Nurse, but when do I throw RN at the end of my name? Only at work.............

This gent is a died-in-the-wool scammer!  He attempted to scam me using a 2002 Toyota Camry as bait, selling it for $2950 on Facebook's Marketplace.  Unaware that he was full of crap, I contacted him to receive more information about his car.  He gave me this crock story about being in the military, provided a real VIN number for a car, and then told me he would ship the car to me using US Air Military Cargo.  A simple Google search will show you that this is a Military-type scam letter.

Anything email or web forms linked to the domains, my-bestcar-ever.com or honorablepeople.com, neither of which have actual webpages on them, ARE FAKE!  Stop right where you are, and submit a complaint to https://www.fbi.gov or http://www.ic3.gov.  Make your next move to post your story up right here on this site.  Below are his emails to me, with my name redacted.

Email #1:
(Received after sending initial interest email)

Hi,

The car is still for sale. Thanks for your email. This car is in great condition, no accidents, the title is clear and all you have to do is to put your name on it.
Here's a link with some information, pictures and FREE CARFAX REPORT. Just click on it or copy and paste the link into your internet browser:
http://sites.google.com/site/2002toyotacamrylesedan/

I want to sell it very fast so I will let the car go for $2900.
If you are interested email me back.

Thanks,
Lt. Michael Berns

Email #2
(after asking to meet with him and see the car)

Hi,

Right now I'm located in Naples, Italy. I work in the army and my time is limited.
The reason of selling it, is that the registration of a vehicle with US standards in an European country will cost me up to $5000 on inspections, motor modifications and paper work.

I am not so familiar with online sales and I decided to use a service from an business-specialized company, eBay Motors Vehicle Purchase Protection (VPP).
The payment will be completed to eBay Motors. After you receive the car, inspect it (for 3 days) and register it on your name, eBay will release the payment to me. If, by any reason, you won't be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can refuse the car and ask for a full refund of your deposit, no questions asked. You will keep the car for few days until i will find another buyer in your area, and there will be no need for you to ship the car back. I think this is more than fair for both of us.

I will handle the shipping. The car will be shipped via US Air Military Cargo, so i will not pay shipping fees. You will get the car in 3-4 days.

The deal WILL BE MADE UNDER THE eBay Motors RULES AND POLICIES. Both of us will be protected. I WILL NOT DEAL OUTSIDE EBAY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

If you want to move forward, I will need to know your full name, shipping address and phone number. Once I will receive your details, I will forward the details for our transaction to eBay Motors, and after that, they will send us all the instructions of the transaction.

I have my US cell phone with me so if you want to call me, you can find me at +1 (858) 345-2756

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This man now going by Lt Kyle Frampton.  We were trying to find a car for my daughter who just was in a wreck with her car.  I have been on leave of absence for 14 months and money is tight.  he advertised a 2005 MAZDA MAZDA3 2.3L S VIN: jm1bk123x51228976.  He is using the phone # 1 209 732 5458.  He says he is stationed in Italy and the car is in Penn. I found a Kyle Frampton in Penn. on Linked in.  I wonder if he just picks names at random or if he takes the names of victims that he has already screwed over, or maybe the victims that he was unsuccessful at screwing over... WHAT A CREEP.  HE DOESN'T CARE WHO HE TAKES MONEY FROM AND TYPICALLY THE PEOPLE HE SCREWS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THE MONEY THE MOST.  PEOPLE WHO FIND HIS CARS AT A UNBELIEVABLE PRICE, WE SHOULD KNOW BETTER, BUT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MIRACLE BECAUSE WE NEED ONE.   WE ARE IN SUCH A POSITION THAT WHEN WE FIND A GOOD DEAL WE TRUST THAT WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIND ONE.. HE PREYS ON PEOPLES HOPES, AND THE PEOPLE DOING THE HOPING ARE THE PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP THE MOST--IT IS JUST A VISCIOUS CIRCLE.  IF YOU ARE DEALING WITH THIS PHONE # BY ANY NAME, USE CAUTION, YOU ARE DEALING WITH A MAN WHO IS TRYING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU WITH NOTHING;  HIS EBAY POST IS A PHONY AND THAT IS WHY YOU CANT GET THERE EXCEPT THROUGH HIS EMAIL.  EBAY WILL ALWAYS COPY YOU IN YOUR MESSAGES IN EBAY...  If you ever question the ebay thing send ;a copy to ebay, and they will write you back in about an hour and let you know it is a hoax..I am suprised that they arent going after him at all.  PLEASE USE CAUTION AND TELL EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS MESS.

This person was calling himself Lt. Daniel Green.  He said he was stationed in Naples, Italy and was selling a 2001 BMW 330xi for $2,900.  He wanted to complete the transaction via eBay Motors, as well.

This number was used as a contact phone for someone calling himself Lt. Dwight Freeman.  Says he's an Army Lt. stationed in Italy and trying to sell a 2003 VW Jetta.  Wanted to complete the transaction through eBay Motors using Western Union as a payment method, which is prohibited by eBay for obvious reasons.  I will report this to eBay and Facebook Market Place (where the original ad for the car was found).
