On 9/26/08 at about 1:30 p.m. I received a call from a male with a very heavy East Indian accent. My number is unlisted. After hearing "you have been qualified...." I hung up. He called back immediately and insisted I listed to him. He told me I was qualified to receive a $25,000 grant from the government. I ask how did I qualify, when he replied with the question: You are an American citizen? I ask why does he need to know that if I'm already qualified? I asked for their phone number, which is (210) 775-2275 with an address of 900 Main St, Dallas, TX 75421. He was very hard to understand and insisted I call this number immediately, talk to his "verifying officer" by the name of Eric and to tell Eric that Alex referred me. After checking the internet, as expected, it sounds like a scam. I'm on the "Do not call list" what happened to this feature?

I GOT A CALL LASTR WEEK FROM THIS NUMBER. A MAN TOLD ME THAT I WAS ALSO QUALIFIED FOR A $5,000 GRANT. I SAID OK WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO? HE TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY $200 TO GET THE GRANTED WIRED TO ME WITHIN 5 MINUTES. HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO CALL RIGHT BACK BUT NEVER DID. SO I CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND THEY TOLD ME MY MONEY WAS BEING PROCESSED AS WE SPEAK. SO I KEPT CALLING BACK AND HE TOLD ME THAT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WAS WRONG SO THEY HAD TO DO IT OVER AGAIN AND I HAD TO SEND ANOTHER $200. THEY TOLD ME THE FIRST $200 I SENT WOULD BE REFUNDED WHEN I GET THE GRANT. THEN I STARTED TO THINK THIS WAS A SCAM, AND IM PRETTY SURE IT IS! IM I AM STILL CALLING TO TRY TO GET MY MONRY BACK. I REALLY HATE THAT I DID THIS, AND I LOST PRESSURE MONEY THAT I MAY NEVER SEE. I WAS THINKING ABOUT TRYING A LAWSUIT BUT I DONT IF THATS THE GREATEST IDEA.

I received a call from a guy with an east indian accent regarding a $5000 grant and all  had to do was pay $200 for the confirmation number. viewed the number online and realized the same caller was affecting everyone. the caller called back to see what happened and i blew his cover. im taking this to the REAL GOVERNMENT.

Same as above, got a call from an Indian, (noticable conversational lag) about a grant. The incoming number was 419-701-3282 but the number he gave for call back was 210-775-2275.

Yes, I got a call this morning, wanted to talk to my husband, said to hae him call.  Told him he wasn't here and he doesn't talk on phone.  Asked what it was about.  Gae me this 1-210-775-2275 number and said he was qualified for $25,000.  Said he got information from IRS that he was qualified.  Asked why he was qualified, said it was because he had no criminal record and IRS said he could use this grant.  Of course, I didn't call back.

Long.... in short want my bank account number, moms madin name, ssn and they were to tansfer $5,000 of Obama money to my account.

someone called my customer saying Obama was going to give him 20,000.  My customer then gave up some bank info.  They are experts at manipulating people.  They can draw more info out of people by saying they already know details WHICH THEY DON'T!!!.....It's just a matter of time until these guys get to grab their ankles in a federal pen somewhere...I hope!!!

3/13/09 Male caller, Austin, heavy Indian accent told me I qualified for $25,000 in grant money because of my current tax payer status and because I am not a criminal. He started to go through his spiel and I stopped him saying I was busy and asked for info so I could contact him at my convenience. He claimed to be from government grants department and gave me a number to reach him: 210-775-2275. Upon researching this number I came across this thread and others like it. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Male caller called by the name of SAM said i qualify for 25000 . when i asked him to verify his business he said www.governmentusgrants.com. he said i had to send the money western union,to a charity , in another country India  Africa etc.. I asked for their phone number, which is (210) 775-2275.he even gave me the persons name  to send the money to .All i have to do is send the money , and give him the mtcn #, he will activate my 25000 dollars check...some one will be at my door within 12to 18 hrs to hand me my check, and must show proper ID..lucky i researched this on google and plug the phone # in and sure enough it was a scam...Now they using this technique to get hard working people money...funny he had an slight Indian accent...Be carefull people research first...  terrence

I got a phone call from this company, claiming to be the Government Grants Department.  They said I was qualified for $25,000 from the government to buy myself a house, car, etc... I said "Okay, if your the government, then I would guess you have my address, so if you want to send me a check, send it to my house on file" and he repeated by saying "we need to verify this information with you."  I repeated back to them that I felt that this is a scam, and that I woudl appreciate it if I could talk to a manager.  I talked to the manager who said she was from Houstin Texas.  After a little talk with her, she gave me more lip about giving her all my personal information.  I told her I thought it was a scam, and I was calling the police, where she then decided to cop an attitude and hung up on me.  What nerve these people have!
