Received a call to my cell phone from 212.645.0823 at 11:03pm.  I didn't answer it, I googled it and found this site. I just put my cell number into a form today, I think it was for The Elevation Group (which I don't belong to, but I watched a webinar).  Anyone else recently go to that site for a webinar?

This is a follow-up to my message above.  My office received the following e-mail at work today from HR:

We have been notified by the Agency for Enterprise Information Technology of the following information:

"Several employees are receiving bogus telephone calls telling them their Florida Commerce debit card has been lost and to press ?1? to provide needed information.

The phone number making the call is 212-645-0823.

When you call this number a recording comes on telling you they are having technical difficulties. This is a credit bureau.

It has happened on both personal and state cell phones. "

If you have received such a call, please inform me immediately.  Florida Commerce is aware of the situation.

Tracked mine back to clicking on a link on facebook that caused me to like a spam / hacked page. Go to your likes and make sure that you don't have any strange "Liked" pages. That's how they got my telephone number in FL

Cell Phone companies  sell users personal information of their clients to 3rd parties. While I think this should be against the law, there are greedy people out there who don't care about a persons privacy. If the FCC or some "Government Agency" had the balls to say that enough is enough, maybe it would stop.

I received a call from this number also, and in Tally, FL and have received these calls before.  Tried to go onto Jenny Yoo's website and post a message about the scam, but they must no longer be in business as it would not let me post the comment.  Only have one debit card and it is not with any credit union.  This has to be a scam, probably called the rest of my family too.  there must be some way of stopping this kind of stuff.  Frustrated to say the least!

This is a scam. Financial Institutions will never contact you asking for personal information. Scammers obtain public information then attempt to trick mass audiences into sending them debit card info.

Please contact your Financial Institution should you receive messages like this. Due to high call volume of members/customers reporting these calls, wait times have increased. Rest assured that no personal information regarding accounts was compromised.

Received call today - February 7, 2012 from  212.645.0823 - I logged on to the Florida Commerce website and found the below message.

SECURITY ALERT

Some members have reported receiving suspicious text messages which state that their debit cards are being deactivated. The message directs members to call an 800 number and enter their debit card number.

Please be advised that the message was not sent by Florida Commerce, and is an attempt by scammers to compromise your account. Neither we, nor any reputable financial institution would contact you by phone, text message or e-mail and ask for your confidential information.

We offer these tips to help protect you against scammers:

Never respond to a phone call, e-mail or text message which asks you to provide confidential information, such as an account number, credit or debit card number, credit card validation code (CVC), Personal Identification Number (PIN) or Social Security Number.
Never open an e-mail which seems suspicious. It may contain a virus or spyware for stealing passwords and account information, or have links to a fraudulent website.

If you believe you've been a victim of this scam, please call Florida Commerce immediately at 850.488.0035.

Received call today - February 7, 2012 from  212.645.0823 . It was a auto message stating that I had a debit card pending at Florida Commerce Credit Union and to press 1 to continue. I do not have an account with them.

How they got my number this was a cell phone I do not know.

Someone must have been trying to open a bogus account,

Tried to contact Florida Commerce Credit Union to discuss this got put on hold with member services for a very long time. Florida Commerce has a big issue with customer service.  No one every came on phone waited 10 minutes. I would not bank here just because of the poor service.

Finally they said that they are ware of the issue and that it they according to customer care member services have not been hacked or information stolen and that they think a wireless carrier database was hacked but they would not say anything else.

Phone rang but they left no message.  Looked it up on line and it shows, "Jenny Yoo, Fall 2011 Bridesmaid Collection."  I haven't ordered any dresses for wedding or otherwise from New York.  My guess is they have the wrong number... if it keeps happening, then I guess I'll let the FCC know?

I answered the call from this number. An automated message told me my debit card account was being held/frozen or something of that nature. I think It said press 1 for security department before I hung up.

Google search yielded Jenny Woo Bridal collection.

I called the number back and got a message saying their phone was having technical difficulties and to leave a message.
