I just got a call from this number asking for me using my full name claiming that they were from the U.S. Department of Education. There was a lot of background noise and the caller was very rude. After I said to wait a minute, they hung up. Also, apparently the area code is for Manhattan in New York.

I just got a phone call from this number at 7:03 pm today.  My cell phone only rang once and they hung up.  I don't know who it was from or what they wanted, so I just marked it as spam and placed the number in my spam folder on my cell.  If they call back, I wont know about it because my cell wont let the number go through to me...lol

As for it being from the Department of Education, I don't think so.  They don't outsource their collections to foreign collection agencies.  My best guess is, they're a scam outfit trying to get you to send them money on a bogus student loan that they say they are collecting on.

If ANYONE gets this line of bull from them, call the Department of Education personally and talk to them and see if they have any outstanding loans on you and make arrangements with them to make payments.  I had someone try this on me, but they couldn't give me any information as to what school the loan was made to, and I already knew where and when the loan was made and was already making payments to the Department of Education on that loan.  So, when they called me back, I told them I was recording the phone call and that the Department of Education was looking into their claims.  I never heard from them again after that.....lol

Now I look up most calls from out of town. I have 15 contacts in my cell phone that says Don't answer tele market. I get calls all the time.

here's how you take care of this problem....if you have call toward selective on your phone service....put toward all your unwanted number like 800,900, and eve. their own number back to them....let them talk to each other and leave you alone.

Don't know who this person is, they just keep calling..very annoying

I put a call blocked app on my cell phone. And all calls from this SCAM COMPANY are now blocked. AWESOME ..

been getting calls from this # for over a year, asked numerous times to take me off the list. sick of the calls and refuse to stop! They need to be educated for a real job.

My calls have been from the same number.  I don't believe for one second that the police can't figure out who this is.

I missed the call after it rang only a couple times and when I called back it sounded like a fax line.  Strange (?).

yeah I got the same phone call from same number but i got an e-mail just before the phone call. the email stated i won over  7.5 million dollars, what it was in Euro's ,I forgot. beware of the email's then phone call.

I just got a missed call from the same number. My phone showed a call coming in and in a recording voice said "incoming call from 212-658-9758" then it immediately hung up. I called the number back, and got a fax line. It was really strange and not sure what that was about.

Has been calling often answered twice first he knew I had a just had a son [Creepy] said I won a contest baby stuff and what not. Asking a lot of personal questions. I hung up. Just got a call today while I was at work answered same indian guy saying he was from some kind of online school. Asked for me lied and said shes not here my I take a message. The guy went off on me saying yea a message give her this message I love america and blah blah. Hung up havent heard anything back yet.

I had a "Frank" from this number call me March 28th at 10:40am. He said he was from the Dept. of Education...heavy Indian accent. Said they were sending information to my email address about my interests in my future education, I hung up. He called back, I ignored call...he called back, I answered. He wanted to know what I was interested in for my future education, I asked where he was from as the Dept. of Education has never called me about my schooling, he wouldn't answer. I asked to be removed from their calling list, he asked why I didn't want to receive information about my future education possibilities, I replied that I know how to use the internet for things like that, he wouldn't stop asking. I asked three times that they remove me from the calling list. He sounded frustrated and then hung up. Blocked the number now.

Stop harassing calls

I got a call from this number just little while back, when I asked him to take me off the list. He said "it's not possible, once you are on it then you can't be removed". So I told him that I will be reporting this number to police if he ever calls me back and he goes "do whatever the f*** you want, it's my job to call you and I will keep calling you"... So I started cursing back at him and it went on for minute or so, and then I hung up. He called me 6 times right after then in matter of a minute.. The guy is a psycho...

they just called me and it is a scam because they called my sister n law last week and conned her out of $250.00

Looks like they are still at it. I had two missed calls back to back. Was at work so didn't answer. I have added it to my blocked caller list.

they called me half an hour ago and ask for stephanie ...told them no stephanie here and donot call me again

They keep calling me from the same number and hanging up. a NY number and I live in Colorado. I dont know anyone in NY.. Call it back and fax machine noise comes on, Been getting calls off and on through out the day from these guys, for the last 2 days. Very annoying..

Unsolicted called on cell phone from India speaker man. Would not give company or reason for calling. Just hung up when I asked why he was calling.

ID shows "unknown name"; they have called a total of 4 times; this last time 11:00 a.m., I answered.  Trying to get you to go for their SCAM of discounted college tution.  Told them they were bothering me, I was 76 years old, what would I do with college?  They need to get a real job and stop bothering people.

Ok first, I keep getting this call from "unknown" and when I answered it one day, it was a man with an Indian-accent, asking me if I was looking for a car.  I told him yes, then he said he could hook me up with 200 dealers in my area, and I said "wait, I am working with a dealer, and definitely do not want to receive calls from 200 dealers!" and he then said "Why the F### are you wasting my time B****?" I was in the process of hanging up when I heard him say this, and could not believe my ears! I immediately hung up, but now I keep getting calls from "unknown" 4 times per day, and today one number came up as 212-658-9758!  I am wondering if they forgot to block their number this time......?
