What a scam!!!!   Phone calls from "John Thomas" demanding a "cancelation" fee for a medical alert system from a phony company.  He says he's from "Medical Alert Systems" which is a legitimate company that advertises "No cancelation fees, no return fees", etc.  He tries being nice and then does "guilt" tripping.

Then he sends a "cancelation" notice, demanding payment with the threat of "additional fees".  And,  the stamped envelope enclosed is addressed to me, not to him.  !!!!

The "bill" and envelopes have obviously been printed off using plain paper, not business letterhead.

The "business" address is 1612 Kings Highway, #164, Brooklyn, NY 11229.  From the Google map it looks as though it's the local McDonalds.

Be warned.  !!!

Appears to be MedicAlert collection office.  Subscriber died.  Company is now calling her son several times a day to demand payment.  There are no estate funds.  Caller identifies himself as "John Thomas."  When you call back, a series of recordings by a guy with a thick New York accent gives you a run-around before hanging up.

See the posts for 845-542-1322.  This appears to be another number they are using along with 212-726-2203.  Our county Sheriff's Office advised that these numbers are for prepaid cell phones purchased fron the same vendor in NY and have "no subscriber info".
