I have received calls from Scofield Nottingham & Associates they left a voice mail to call them at 818-287-7543. I called an attorney they said it was fraud he said that they are located in Buffalo NY. My attorney phone number is 877-201-0613

They must've paid you a few dimes if you're here posting the crap you're spewing. First of all, how do we know they're as legit as they say? Second, if a claim was to be filed it would have to be in a court of law WHERE THE PERSON WHO IS BEING SUED LIVES! Third, an actually firm would had file documents that they have purchased debts from the original creditor. So yes they are as phony as the crap youre posting. They're commiting faud from the looks of it by threaten people with cheap law tactics. Tell these mofos to get a real job and stop scamming the hard working people! I have done business with Schofield, Nottingham, and Associates for a few months to help clear up my delinquent account. They have also helped me clean up my credit report along with consolidate a bunch of other debt i had through them. They have been nothing but helpful and courteous with me and have never once tried to scam me in any way shape or form so to all you people that have opinions i would like you to know that everybody has them they are like butt holes and yours clearly stinks because you have nothing better to do but be a career habitual criminal by stealing money from these loan companies.. Ohhh yeaah and one more thing they can pursue if you stole money and didnt pay it back retards hhahahahalol why dont you google that.

Looks like this phone number is VoIP so they could have picked any area code they wanted and could be calling from anywhere.

@Georgetta, this 72 hour deadline they give you is a scare tactic. If they actually sue you (which I doubt they will) please let us know on this forum since they would have to give some kind of address (physical or post office box) to send your answer. And save any voicemail recordings they leave you too. You have a potential claim against them for what they have said to you so far. The only thing standing in the way of suing them is finding them.

Just wanted to add some info that I got from a representative that answered the phone (213-481-6010). The connection was bad but he spelled out the name of the company as Schofield Nottingham Associates. So far I haven't found a record of this company in California but that could be because it's only doing business under this name and was registered under another. I will continue my research and report back any findings.
This could be a very small company that blatantly breaks Federal Law because it can easily pull up stakes and disappear if anyone tries to sue them.

Yep, got this stupid private phone call with a guy left message regarding some person that is supposedly got filed a claim against. The person is not even me but it was hilarious. Sounds like a lot of BULLSH*T!!!!! People just a heads up, this sound more like a scam...if you are indeed been sued, you will hear it first from the court! This guy is as phony as they come, calling on a private number (check), not listing an actual law firm (check), unable to give you the court house (check)....

A man called with a blocked number more than once and left a message that a claim had been filed against someone else with my last name. I stupidly called back the number that was left on the message. The number was 213-481-6010. The same man answered that number and he had my full name and age. It was un-nerving. He said the person who the claim was filed against gave my number as a contact. I don't believe it. I hope nothing bad comes of this. I told him to remove my name from the claim, but I probably just screwed my self over by saying anything.

I got a call from a number that said private on my caller Id. The person at that number referred me to the 213 number. When I called this number, the guy on the other end told me I had 72 hrs to settle a claim that was filed against me , or someone will be out to serve me court documents. When I asked for documentation of this claim filed against me, he stated that stuff had been sent a while ago and that I should have gotten something, so he can't send me anything now because it's to late. When I asked what court is this claim filed with, he couldn't answer that either. This is about a payday loan, which I do owe but this loan was taken out about 8yrs ago. Why wait this long to supposedly file charges against me? The guy was very careful not to say that I was going to jail, but he did hint at it. I guess we'll see what happens in 72hrs, because I refused to pay him a dime sense he wouldn't send me any documentation. I'll post an update when time is up.
