All of you should check into the class action lawsuit against Santander...would be worth joining. I have a car that I financed through Citi Financial and Santander bought it out. Not only did the balance amount change but they told me my loan is now like a credit card...impossible to pay off. I fought them though and attorney and won. Not only did I not make anymore payments, but I now have a title that the state was forced to issue for the vehical. Their accounting practices are far from law, and their collections practices are as well. In the class action lawsuit, may people have paid off their cars and have not received titles or they make the last payment and now are told they still own 2K on the vehical before they will release the title. They get away with this because their headquarters are over seas...they will tell you it is in Dallas, but we figured that one out when we filed a lawsuit. Beware of this company. If you don't believe what you are reading, check it out for yourself. Good luck everyone...wish you the best!

This is Santander Consumer (auto finance company). The persons calling from that number are actually IN the legal department (not very bright either). Here is a direct number to the legal department, call Norma and ask her why she doesn't leave a message! She JUST admitted to me that it was her that called me this morning.
My father died and I called on May 8th  for front and back copy of title and payoff letter, finally got title copy for the vehicle (with no help from NORMA) and the payoff letter. This is one shady company, they already put my dad's vehicle in repo status! I got it straightened out but only by speaking to to Eric Gonzales at 855-825-6667 this was after "Norma" said no one by that name worked there.
My advice...stay far far far away from this bunch, nothing good can come from it!!!

Santander starts calling after the 1st day past the due date.  I hate to say it, but I am doing well to keep everything under 30 days.

Telemarketer
Here's the answer to all our prayers.  I found this on a site I posted a telemarketer's number at.  I tried it and it WORKS!  I put the tones at the beginning of my phone  greeting about three months ago and in the last three weeks have had "ZERO" calls.  Whover posted that "THANK YOU, THANKI YOU".   Here's what I found:

Telemarketers almost exclusively use autodialers to make their calls.  One out of a thousand will have live reps doing the dialing.  When these dialers connect (you answer the phone) they first listen for any tones generated.  If no tones are detected they then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center.  If the autodialer hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number that was just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list.  Below is a link that has this tone plus the verbal message.  You DO NOT need the verbal message.  Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop.  Create or  change the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available.  At the VERY BEGINNING of your message place the 3 tones (NOT THE VOICE  MESSAGE) then continue with your usual or normal greeting.  The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number will be removed since they think it's a  disconnected number.  DONE.  In a few weeks you will be removed from all or most of the lists.  Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO  want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff.  Pass this info on to anyone you know that gets junk calls or even help post this on these websites.  If you continue  getting calls after reading this, it's your "OWN" fault!  END JUNK CALLS.

I agree.  My husband always all them and make arrangements. But they will continue to call if you are late or behind in your payments.  I just ignore the calls and make the payment when I can. They sent me a certified letter before about possibly repossessing my car but I had already made the payment and they said disregard the letter.  The also let me but a payment on the end of my loan. So they will work with you but they can get on your nerves with all the calls. This is my second time having a loan through them.  I think they handle all loans on foreign made cars.  LOL.

Yep ... they call daily, twice-thrice daily the moment you are a day late. If you have an online account with them ... try putting this number in as your home phone number ... (214) 905-7569 ... it's the number of Drive Financial which is whom Santander truly is.

Yah, Santander is awful...however, I have used their CHAT service, and that seems to stop the phone calls for about a week or so. It's almost worse to speak to someone.

Good luck everyone!

This number just called me and asked if I knew a person and how could they get ahold of them.  You know what?  I LIED and said I didn't know them.  First off - why are they calling ME - a friend, not even a relation - and asking how they can get ahold of them?  They can kiss my chilly a***.  Thank goodness for Caller ID and this website!

It is Santander Consumer USA. I suppose they are using another name to do their dirtier work, since they are already being sued for breaking every consumer protection law known in the U.S. They do not care; their Banco Santander bank headquarters is in Spain. They purchased my HSBC car loan about one year ago.

omg! I thought My Husband and I was the only ones. They call me from 8am to 9pm all week long. my health is bad. The stress from these nuts is making it worse. Yes we are behind, due to my medical and medications bills but we made 4 payments in November, we are trying. I have contacted a lawyer. These people have no mercy. It is driving me insane. I hope and pray it stops. They got my moms cell number some how and called her disclosing my personal information, asking her if my minor daughter was driving the car! WTF!! They are calling my husbands job, and never was given that info, he could be fired, we have ask them to stop! With no such luck. I am afraid to answer my cell at all cause they call from so many different numbers. Tonight the lady from Jamacia was Hollering at me. Right when i hung up on her another lady called that was located in some other office her name was Mrs. Burkes. Dam, If I didn't have the funds to pay another payment this morning, then more than likely I dont have the funds to pay another payment this afternoon. someone must make them pay. My last seizure was in August, one of the very same days I got 12 phone calls from them, I finally answered cause I couldn't take the cell ringing any longer, The lady kept telling me to trun the car over cause it was 27 days late, I was so upset, its my only way to get my daughter and myself to and from, I had a violet attack and it took a full week to get back to my sinces. I am so tired of it all. I wish they would understand when I get my SSDI I will pay them off. Its not my fault.

Thankfully when they bought out my loan, they were obligated to honor my original contract. They were not happy when I called to move a pymt to the end of my loan or have to honor my grace of 10 days. The grace is a post mark too so all those late fees they tried charging quickly were reversed. Typically i don't start getting the calls until my 10day window is up but it's from a 1-800 & automated message. I just started today getting the hourly calls from a 214 area code & after reading these post, it's obviously them. They can screw off because not only have I mailed my pymt, but it's my final pymt for the payoff amt I secured online today (confirmation printout included) and my loan has been paid off a yr & half early. So I'm glad to know it's them. In a couple of days I will kindly tell them to jack off. I will never ever have a loan with them again

I received a phone call from this company.  What they do is call you by your first name as if they know you.  I told them that they were now breaking the law because they were calling my place of employment and in Georgia it is against the law for any collectors to call you at you place of employment!

We just signed the loan paperwork with Santander last week. Our first payment isn't even due until January 2012, yet they called the home and mobiles one after the other, and nobody was on the other end.

I so agree with most everyone here. Santander is the WORST ever. They call me from 7:30am - 8:30pm. About 10 times a day. Even after I explained my situation and set up payment arrangement. They call the evening of day my payment is due if they have not received it by 5pm. I mean come on seriously?!?! And they obviously don't do anything with the 'recorded for quality assurance purposes' or do any type of communication with each other or else they would know. They call and don't even let it ring more then 2x before they hang up. They don't let you even try to answer and if you do answer they hang up. They have RUDE customer service. Also have not received 2 consecutive months of my monthly payments. Each month it's a different amount. 214-237- 3516   214-614-3300  and many others. I will NEVER EVER recommend Santander to anyone. I will be so happy when my loan is paid off.
