We moved to McKinney about 2 weeks ago and I just got the "Sorry We Missed You!" 1st attempt card with my last name and address hand-written on it on my door (yes, the b****ole taped it on the KEYHOLE). I was home the entire time and there was no doorbell or knock at the door. I just so happened to look out my front window to see a shady looking dude dressed in basketball shorts and a trashy looking tank top getting into his shady looking jalopy. Immediately looked up the website on the card (www.eclipsehomedist.com) which doesn't work, and then googled the phone #. Glad I came 800notes.com. Always my trusty resource for unknown callers, but I didn't realize it would be for unknown VISITORS to my DOOR. Thanks everyone!!

I just saw that "1st attempt" notice on my front door even though I've been home all morning!!!! So I called them and found out exactly what Tonja mentioned in the first post. We recently purchased a house and they want to "welcome" us with a $100 restaurant gift certificate and in return we'll fill out a survey blah blah blah. I had to interrupt him "politely" ad told him I wasn't interested in their service, gift certificate or anything free! Hopefully they'll leave me alone!

that is scary.  I received the card 2x and to know they are blatant, smiling and waiving at the camera is unnerving. The card says 3rd and final attempt.  Wonder what they do on the "final" and also the comment on them checking to see if the card stays on the door is also unnerving. I did try to contact both numbers on the first because I was expecting packages at the new house and thought it was packages...should have looked up both numbers before calling.  I found out when you call they try to tie your number to address etc.  I will be contacting the homeowner association and PD on this for sure.

I have  Drop Cam facing my driveway through the front window. If you saw the" sales" person they use in my area....from the gang banger clothing representative (they don't ring the bell) who drops the note on the front door, you'd also stay away from these guys.  Best part is he saw the camera and waived.   My driveway is long enough I can't read the plate number or I'd file a complaint with the local PD using their lie of a "3rd attempt" to reach me plus by video of they stopping by.

Just got this today left on my door, with the "2nd Attempt"  box marked, but oddly have never gotten a "1st Attempt"  So glad I googled the company and then this number!  I SCREAMS scam.

Just moved into Plano and got this card.  Called the number and they asked for an email address to send the $100 restaurant card.  Then they tried to sell me a GE automated system and yard pest control.  I expect they will charge me for the $100 restaurant card.  I will post a follow up.  What a scam!

Do not call 2143064402 nor 8172590053. It's a scam. Also if your away for extended time. Please have a friend / neighbor pick up mail and remove any fliers or 'sorry we missed' notices cause what these scam artist are up is no good.  "They are looking to rob your house"

We received the "sorry we missed you" card on our door too. The jerks taped it ACROSS THE KEYHOLE. I can understand buying a list of new homeowners and mailing out ads, etc. But to walk up on someone's front porch and tape your crap across their keyhole--they should be thankful I wasn't here. There are boxes on the card for 1st attempt, 2nd attempt, etc. I hope one of us is home when the dillweeds show up for the 2nd attempt.

We received a "sorry we missed you" notice on our front door with a confirmation number asking that we call them.  I'm glad I looked up the number.  We definitely won't be calling 214-306-4402  or  817-259-0053.

Eclipse Distribution is a company that received your mortgage info as a new owner.  They tell you that you will receive a restaurant card worth $100 from Restaurant.com for completing a survey.  I asked them if it would cost me anything and they said NO.  So they send you an email with a survey about different companies that you might be interested in with your new home.  At the end you are charged a $8.95 service fee if you want to received the $100 restaurant card.  So much for FREE.  The is a SCAM.
