Calling the "to be removed" number only puts you on more lists, it is a scam.

take revenge, post their telephone number on some not so reputbale websites offering anything from sex to free equipment, or some other outrageous "to good to be true" offer  make sure to put in the ad that the caller needs to mention the key word "junk faxes"  in order to get the deal, this will send a message.  BE careful where you poost though, you do not want to get in trouble, go to a library or if computer savvy use a proxy.  Time to fight fire with fire.

FIRST CAPITAL EQUIPMENT FINANCE SENDING UNSOLICITED FAXES. WANT YOU TO CALL 877-644-2598 TO BE REMOVED, I DON'T TRUST CALLING THESE NUMBERS. I CALLED 214-447-9654 & ASKED TO BE REMOVED. ALMOST ONE MONTH NOW SO FAR SO GOOD.

Same junk fax form First Capital Equipment Finance that I recieve monthly despite many requests to be removed from their list.  They give a false 877 number for removal so you have to call their land line and pay long distance to listen to an answering machine.  The offer a scam for pre-approved credit.  They also have used the name ITM-First Financial with phone number 617-532-4101 (same fax language in body of fax with different name), the name First Financial with phone number 505-715-6141 and Federal Financial with the phone number 505-715-6161.  They always use the name Brian Williams as the contact name.
