A guy called me who has an Indian accent, claiming he was a windows tech support person. (No Surprise) he knew my name, and wanted me to go to the run window and type in wvw something, but it put me in the system logs, right about that time, I knew he was a scam and hung up.

I got a call from this number at 7:10 AM this morning.  A man with a thick Indian accent tried to tell me that my Microsoft WORD was sending viruses through my emails and he needed to help me fix it "right now".  When I asked for his name and who he worked for he said "we work for Microsoft".  I asked him to explain who is "we" and did he understand that it was 7:00 AM.   He dodged answering the who is we question but said, "yes I know it's early but this is very important".  I told him I have my own local IT person and would have a trusted source check out any problems and then I hung up.

Just got 2 calls from this number, within 15 minutes; same statements as above. Indian speaking male, started talking to me about virus' in the area. I explained I have a Mac (really don't but figured if they really worked for windows they'd know otherwise). The second time I answered 'China King, May I help you?' Without responding I heard a 'click'!!!

An Indian thick accent guy said my computer had a virus and it caused it to run slow. Being on the weary side of " who the heck is this?" I' from Microsoft ... I needed proof. He was able to take me to MS-DOS area, type in codes to access info on numbers, told me what it said. Then he tells me to go to web-site AMMYY. He told me to click on green button. Reading info on page, this allows him to access my computer. Red Flag went off in my mind. No way Jose! Told him I had to go. Hung up. No outsider should be allowed to see everything on your computer, bank numbers, passwords. Hang up on them, block them, don't believe them. They even called on Christmas! Didn't answer since they're blocked.

They tried to pull me into the let-us-save-your-Windows thing a few days ago, and called me again two more times. I do not own anything running Windows, but I didn't bother messing with the guy.

These entities must be making money somehow; otherwise. they wouldn't pay a room full of drones with only a basic grasp of the English language to endure torrents of verbal abuse, like the one I unleashed when "Taurean Savoy" rang my landline at 6:10 AM today. Are there really people who fall for this? And WHY is this stuff legal?

The call actually showed up as 11 2145646792 which means the call originated outside the country.  This is usually my first clue it is a scam. They getthese numbers that look like they are coming from the States but are not. Being 7 AM on a Saturday, and with a lot of ice on the roads I answered without looking closely at the caller Id. Thick Indian accent, male telling me he was calling with Windows support (second). I was like as in Microsoft. He response was no mama. Microsoft only makes the program from the manufacture that runs the computer, and they don't anyone.
I am thinking no **** sherlock. By this time I know he is full of bull. He goes on to tell me that my computer had downloaded a bunch of programs from the Internet over the last few days and he can help me fix it.
I am thinking yeah right and your cousin has some money he needs help getting out of Nigeria too. I told him no I don't think so I have plenty of protection on my computer and I ain't buying what ever he is selling.
He said no it is not a virus. My antivirus is not going to protect me or catch it. I need to go sit in front of my computer and he will help me fix it.
Yeah I just fell of the turnip truck yesterday, and am that stupid. I ask him if he knows what day and time it is he is calling. I don't know what country he is calling from. But hubs and I are both IT people and I know better. I am calling the police to report this call and he can kiss it. Then I hung up.
Never give anyone access to your computer. Microsoft, Wimdow, Norton, McAfee, Webroot, office, Apple, HP, Dell, etc. are not going to call you or email you. They are going to alert you through a push notification on your computer. The same way they notify you when you have any update. They will also know your computers IP address, serial number, and/or program licence number. DO NOT EVER log onto your computer and put in a code or give someone offsite access to your computer who calls you or emails you. It is a scam and they are wanting to hack you computer. Copy this and send it to your Grandma and other people you know who are not computer savvy and might believe this call is legitimate.

I never answer my home telephone but I was expecting a call from a company and so I took a chance.  After a few seconds a  man with a very thick accent started almost yelling hello and I knew immediately it was not the call I was expecting and that it was probably a telemarketer.  I was disgusted and every time he yelled hello I waited a bit and then yelled back hello.  Then he started saying something about my computer and because I couldn't understand a thing he was saying I just kept saying "what?".  I think he got disgusted and hung up.  Because I thought he mentioned my computer I immediately unplugged my modem.  I texted the number to whitepages.com and got Savoy Taurean that was mentioned above and then searched the name online and found this webpage.  It looks like he was worse than a telemarketer!   I guess I will go back to never answering my phone.................

I just got one of those 214 564 6792 calls. Pretty much the same scenario as everyone else. I asked to speak to his suspervisor, who came on the phone sounding exactly like the caller.  This "Siri" person threatened me. I asked him all the pertinent questions...can you read English...do you read the papers...then I said then you must have read this call is a scam. He became enraged....how dare you, (over and over again). I said, you called me, I didn't call you, I'm the one who is enraged. His response was I should put a bomb in your home! I said, what did you say...he repeated it. I said if I could find out where you are you could be arrested for threatening to put a bomb in my home! He said, call the police... I said, sure, and tell them that "Jack" in Baltimore Maryland called me and threatened me. I said, I know you are probably not Jack nor are you in Baltimore. He said he was in Baltimore. I hung up. He called right back, I didn't answer. I don't know how to block my number but I'm going to find out.
This went beyond harrasment and scamming. These people should be dealt with by the police.
Thanks for letting me "vent"...grrrr.

Prank Call
I received a call today from a cellular phone number (214)564-6792, which was an Indian sounding guy, whom stated his name is David. Oh, not to mention today happens to be Thanksgiving and he called at approximately at 7:20AM this morning.  I became a bit skeptical once the guy (David) asked my name (He stated the first initial and my full last name).  After he stated my address, I figured he found me on Google, because my address is listed under a total different state.  I asked him, why was he calling so early, and what did he happen to find regarding computer.  He went on to explain that my computer was currently being hacked and it's extremely dangerous because my bank accounts and personal information was being exposed.  Any website that I've visited is at risk. -He happened to capture my attention once he said that.

David later asked me, if I can press the ctrl and windows button simultaneously, and kept pressing the issue that I press it. I later asked him, what's it for, and he exclaimed, its to check for an online infection.  I placed him on hold, and went directly into my boyfriends room (he's excellent on computers) to ask him to listen in and apprise me of his opinion. After listening for less than 5 seconds, he stated it wasn't legit and advised that I hang up, in which I did immediately.  However, I called the number right back twice(allowing my number to show, and blocking my number) and received an error message as follows, "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect, please check the number or code and try again."

I have not received any calls back from this David guy, but if I do, he will definitely be blocked!  What a horrible hoax! I hope this helps and please use your direct common sense when dealing with these people!  This goes to show how people are in such desperation to attempt anything around this season!

I received a telephone call today from a man who represented himself as a ?WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM TECHNICIAN.?  He told me that my computer was presently downloading a virus and that he was calling to help me clear it up.  Of course to do this I would have to give him remote access to my computer.  I was not home at the time and THAT WAS NOT ABOUT TO HAPPEN ANYWAY!
I became suspicious since Microsoft Windows do not monitor our operation systems and they certainly do not initiate contact with us or call us about a potential virus problem in our system.  Plus, I just renewed my virus protection package and all systems are running normally (By The Grace of God).  Therefore, I began an investigation into this alleged virus problem and discovered that IT IS A SCAM.
These scammers will ask you to cut off your computer.  Then sign back on and visit a particular site where you will be asked to download their software tools and give remote control of your computer to them at which time they will plant all types of bugs, viruses, worms, malware and trojans on your computer and then offer to remove them for you for about $200.00 / with a CREDIT CARD TRANSACTION.
DON?T FALL FOR IT.  Use common sense and be skeptical about anything that is out of the norm.
BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS and help me spread the word by passing this notice to as many of your friends as possible.
Look out for a call from 214 564-6792. It is the devil himself.  They have called me 5 times today and are still calling.  I am about to block their number.

A woman who identified herself as "Jack" told me that my computer had a virus and was connecting to the internet, infecting other computers.  I let the call continue until she told me to press the Windows key on my computer.  I told her I had a Mac.  She said "Go buy a windows computer."  I said I was perfectly happy with my computer and I haven't had any problems with viruses with it.  She told me "Go buy a windows computer and then I can help you."  She was laughing.  I said, "No thanks!"

I have been receiving calls from this # as well, they never left messages. I finally answered this morning when they called at 7:40 am, and it was an Indian speaking man, telling me there was a problem with the Microsoft product in my home. I told him I was not interested and hung up. I got in touch with Microsoft who confirmed it as a hoax. They want you to get them into your system to "fix" the problem, and then gain access to all of your personal information.

Very dangerous. Difficult to understand Indian male claims to be from Microsoft and my computer has a dangerous virus. He wants me to go into Windows and type in a certain code. I checked with my IT person. This is a hacker, and if I had followed his instructions it would have given him access to everything in my computer uncluding email addresses, credit card numbers and bank accounts.
