I got same thing the caller's name Kenneth Preston  with sheriff department asked for donations and wanted to come to collect the pledged.

Received a call from Tarrant County Fraternal Order of Police requesting a donation. They had my name (somehow). Everything sounded good but I always google ANYTHING regarding donations and found this link! Guys nname was Mark Davis and the calling # was 214-351-3374 told me to call back at 817-649-7161. Said he would send me an email.

I received a call from Albert Elizardo telling me that he works for the Police Department in the State of Texas. They asked for donations and they told me that I was going to received some stickers to put on my car so that way the police on the streets were going to treat me better. The phone number is 1-800-373-2610

Just got the call, even talked to the "supervisor". In my line of work we get hit up by a lot of charities, some real, most aren't. Key phrases like "100% of money donated goes to ..."  Since they aren't volunteers that statement can't be true. If you're willing to lie to me, you're probably willing to steal also

I get a call from these guys every year and each year I contribute generously. I've done my homework concerning this organization and they are legit. a little persistent, but certainly legit.

sw pr called my shop and asked for me the owner by name when my employee said I wasn't here and asked who was calling he said Richard beck  he said does anyone know when she might show up to work -
my employee asked what company he was with he said that has nothing to do with why he was calling
she asked him why was he calling and he said she was too stupid to deal with and hung up  
So I google sw pr and got this phone number.  when I called and asked for Richard Beck I was put on hold and then someone picked up and hung up
I called back and asked what company this was and was told was told it was the Dallas Sheriff Order of Police
I said that I don't appreciate Richard Beck telling my employees that they are "too stupid to deal with" and hung up

I get call after call from (214) 351-3374  They never leave a message. For 3 weeks straight they call.  somestimes within minutes apart.   I have the number memorized so i ignore the call.   I wish they would stop.

Have been called 3 times, twice by Shawn McGee and today by Joe Daton at my medical office. Joe said the call was from the Dallas County Sheriff's Narcotic division.  Message said please call, civic call, no one's in trouble.   Same story as above. This thread makes me leery.  Paperwork I received had a badge that was an amalgam of the sheriffs and police badge, but doesn't match either exactly.  I'm not sure how to make them stop.

Got a second call from Bob Campo - Stating he represents the "Sherrif's" organization. I am an anesthesiologist and had a patient currently asleep (yes, I answered the phone, because he called the emergency anesthesia phone and it is my job to handle emergencies). Nonetheless, when I told him that I currently had a patient under my care, he stated "God bless you sir and I hope you never need us" - I thought of replying that if he ever needed me, it would be a very bad day for him, but that wouldn't be nice, would it?  Scam.  Just a scam, I say. the phone read "SW PR" and the number was "214-638-8928"

Received voice mail - referenced himself as 'Tim McDonald calling from the Dallas Sheriff's Fraternal Order of Police'.  

Caller ID was (214) 351-3374 but was asked to return call via:  (214) 870-5982

I received a call from this number from someone claiming to be with the Shriners.  They said they were having a drive for a carnival to be held on Jan. 17.  They asked for a credit card donation.  I declined & was immediately suspicious.  They said they would pick up a check if I would leave it under the doormat.  Wondering how they knew where I lived, as they never asked, I said "yes", never intending to leave a check.  I called the Shriners headquarters in Florida, as well as the Shriners in Dallas.  Both said they don't hold carnivals & NOTHING was scheduled for Jan. 17.  I looked on their event calendar on-line & sure enough, nothing on Jan. 17.  I left a note under the doormat to see if someone came by ... they did, but didn't check in the envelope & left a receipt (filled out to some name that isn't even the person who lives at my address!) from Zakat Shriners.  I have not been able to find out much about them by going on line.  The Dallas Shriners gave me the number for their main call center.  I called the number, & they said they had no knowledge of a carnival - no one was soliciting for such an event.

Jim Caisson called from this number.  He left a message for a return call, but did not give a business or purpose.

Read here that it was a solicitation from the Dallas PD for money.

I just got off the phone with this guy. the caller ID showed "SW PUBLIC". He called himself "David Vance", a quick Google shows that "David Vance" is some sort of nude male model. Somehow he got the number of my new workplace and I only started working here a few weeks ago! He already called my cell but I have a app that blocks telemarketers on my droid (nice to know it's working). He wanted to collect donations for kids to supposedly go to some Christmas charity and they get a present. Anyways he wanted me to pay for 10 kids at $10/kid. He wanted me to give him my credit card over the phone so I told him I would have to think about it because I'm busy at work. He then went on to confirm my cell phone which is also a new number (how do they get this info?). Sounds like BS to me, and he was so eager to just charge me over the phone and I have 0 confirmation on whether he's legit or if I'm even paying what he says.

Received a call again, this will be the 8th time dsfop has called. We made a donation last year and they won't stop calling. We made a donation to our locate police department instead this year, the man was rude and wanted to talk to my boss (who happens to be my mom), told him my boss (mom) didn't want to speak to him and he said that he didn't want to speak to me and hung up.

Got a call from this number from a man calling himself Bob Jacksitt.  He asked for the business owner by name and when I asked, he said yes, the owner would know what the call was about.  However, when I checked with the owner, he said he'd never heard of Bob Jacksitt & told me to take a message.  Mr. Jacksitt refused to give any information, said it was "personal" and to "please, please" have him call.

I got a call from Richard Eubanks @ 214-638-0630 stating that he is collectin donations for Dallas County Sheriff Fraternal Order.  He wanted my credit card number over the phone which I refused to give.  Then he said that he will send somebody to my place of business for collection of donation check.  I asked him to send me a bill so I could send him a check but he said that would cost stamp & envelope.  
I refused to donate because it all seemed like a scam.  I reported it to Dallas County Sheriff office.

Scams are when someone has violated the law or in attempts to do so.  I found no evidence of a scam and the Dallas Sheriff's office validated the use of Southwest Public Relations to do the 501-c6 non-profit work..

It is actually illegal for any member of law enforcement in the State of Texas to solicit funds or handle any monetary donations from the general public or business, thus explains the need to have outside contractors do it.  Yes, there is some overhead to cover for employee's and call center, however unless it's done in this method, raising funds for the child programs would be in effect, non-existant.  

I will continue to donate to support the program.

I too received a call from "Jackie Long" at the Dallas Sheriff's office. I'm based out of Washington, D.C. so I ignored the call. After a quick Google Search I found this site. Definitely a scam.

they called my company and said to have the "owner call back that it was a CIVIL matter.. not "civic" matter.

BS.  they will say anything to get a name, phone number or call back from an owner.

BEWARE!  the number they call from is NOT sherriffs office but a public relations firm that uses telemarketing to get money using all kinds of dialogue.

I was given the call back number of 214 638 0630 (Walter Lee).  Call back and they dont know who he is.. but finally find him.  I guess they use so many alias' they cant keep up with them.
       
My suggestion is you ask him who with the Sheriffs Department you can call to confirm he is with them and working on their behalf.. see how fast he hangs up.

Got a call from 214-351-3870  - left msg that they were working on civic/civil project and to call back 214-638-0630.  Walter Lee was name.  I tried to call back just to see who they were, but sounded fishy.

I worked at this location at 6000 Maple, Dallas, TX  for one day. It was the nasty group of individuals I have ever met. The first time I met the supposedly GM Jamie he had an infected mosquito bite in his face, that was so huge yellow and full of pus.

Mostly everyone there are men, the place was vile, almost everyone there smoke and smelled like it. The're were conversations that were full of vulgarities. The man who set next to me, was so frustrated he slammed the phone down everytime he made a call.

They have 11 phone lines and they supposedly represent the Zakat Shriners, Faternal Order of Police Lodeg #85, Tarrant County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #44,  Texas State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police and operating under the guise. T.N.O.P.

The building was horrid, they had gaming machine everyone. One man called to ask people to put gambling machines at their business location.

I believe they make up a new name each time they call numbers, they have printed call sheets that are used. Steve Zaduk name is listed as the coordinator and get this he has several numbers listed as followed. 817-649-7161;1(800)3732610;214-638-0639

Got the same call back number from a SW Public, caller Eric Drahmen asked for the owner by name, I asked what the call was to reference and he responded "typical call"....did I just fall off a turnip truck or what? Telemarketer for sure.

Recv'd a call from Jim Carsons w/The Dallas Sheriffs' Office. Very matter-o-fact sounding. Left no message as to why the call, just that I "needed" to call him back @ 214-638-0630. Sounds like the other calls listed here. My experience is that these folks are with a fund raising org. and less than 20% of the donated money actually goes to the Named Organization. Just an FYI.  Hey, he has a job and 10+ different names.

Bob Campo is a heckuva nice guy who calls people to support the Dallas Police Department and their programs for kids (drug awareness, fingerprint kits, etc.).  It was a wrong number, but Bob was just so gosh darn nice, I thought I'd get on here and say what a pleasure it was to speak with him.

Calls frequently, does not state his business, says to call back, left name of Kevin Franklin and also Bob Campo.

Received a voicemail from a man named Jackie Long from the Dallas Sheriff Fraternal Order who said that he needed to talk to me not about an official matter, but did need to talk to me.  I called the above number and it just rang and rang and didn't go to voicemail.
