To be fair one of their branches has been robbed recently and this is most likely tied to that.
Reporting it to Sprint via 9999 also works just send them a message saying "help" if you need the commands otherwise google it.

Recently, we have received several reports of people getting SPAM messages by text on the GMR cell phones. Sprint has a couple of commands that you can utilize to report this to them. It needs to be done on the handset on which it was received. If you think that you have been the victim of a SPAM test message, do not delete it. Follow these instructions to report it to Sprint:

1.                    Create a new text message

2.                    address it to 9999

3.                    in the body, type SPAM <the senders address or number> <and as much of the message as possible>

4.                    send

So, in my case, the text message looked like this:

TO: 9999
SPAM 800@resource.com subject: R1CU ResourceOne has De-Activated you 4157-58xx-xxxx Debit Card. To Re-Activate call 4086547683

When I sent this to 9999 (sprint), I received a reply stating thanks for reporting it and then a second one to inform me that any future messages from this sender will be blocked.

Just got the same msg (actually it's the 3rd msg I've got like this in the past 2 days - and I'm also on sprint..)

Fr: ztkgwf@r1cu.org

Subject: 2nd Notice

ResourceOne CreditUnion has deactivated your 4157-58XX-XXXX-XXXX DebitCard. To reactivate call 4086547683

Yesterdays msgs were from: vpdebf@r1cu.org (phone was 3232123151) and didn't ref a card # / Another msg was from 800@resource.com with phone # 2146440103 and the text of msg was slightly different... ResourceOne has "De-Activated" your 4157-58XX-XXXX-XXXX "Debit_Card". To "Re-Activate" call 2146440103....

These guys are sending msgs from different email addys and different domains with different texts to the messages to deliberately avoid being blocked... I hate these scams & wish these guys would get arrested for fraud!!!

I just got my second text message telling me that my debit card, with the number, 4157-58XX-XXXX, would be de-activated and to re-activate it, I am to call, 408-654-7683.  I called the # and got a recorded message, and the message told me they needed my debit card # to re-activate it.  Of course, I didn't give them any thing.  I was really hoping to speak with a real person, but unfortunately it was a robot.  I sent a text message in return and got back a MAILER-DAEMO, telling me that my message had not been sent and without a reason.........Oh well, I just hope no one gives out there personal information.........

I got this same message today and it had the same card number. And my cards don't begin with these numbers either. But ironically I also have Sprint; so I wonder if they are targeting Sprint customers.  ???

If you're using Sprint, hit *2 and report it to them. They will block the text messages. I called and the representative was able to locate them in the system and created a block log. :)

Just got this text, same as above.  Interesting that all of the above comments have been logged in the last 3 hours.  Pretty ambitious scamming.

Note:  Recieved two, one from 800@resource.com, and another from ztsqey@r1cu.org.

I received the same texts yesterday and today prompting me to call 214-644-0107 and 214-644-0103.  As a result, I filed online complaints with the FCC and Federal Trade Commission.  I reported it to Sprint after that.  The links are below if you'd like to file complaints, as well.

A coworker found that Resource One is a legitimate credit union in TX, but the scammers are probably using the name to sound legit.  Scary, because someone will fall for this . . .

Must be an auto-dialer, maybe to a whole group of Sprint phones.  I got the exact same message within the same 5-minute timeframe.

My daughter is traveling the country for the past few days, and she has a debit card on my acct, so it took me some time to confirm that it was not her card and it is a scam.  Reporting it to Sprint.
