Have been receiving calls repeatedly from this number. No one leaves a message. No one is there when I answer. They call at all hours of the day. We are on the do not call list.

I just got a call from this number today; first time, I think. I really think all these guys, if they are collections sleezoids [I have no debts!], just pass target victim's numbers around some sort of collusive system of credit company goons who buy up debts cheaply and then do whatever it takes to collect them from anyone they can get to pay. They often go after people who have been through a bankruptcy, even many years before, counting on fear and intimidation of the people who have already gone through hell before they had to file. Credit card companies cut deals with these sleezoid companies, some of which are firms of attorneys who use auto dialers and/or hire people who do nothing but make calls...that's one reason you often don't get an answer if you pick up, or you get a hang-up.

I ignore all my land line calls if I don't recognize the number. Soon, I will get rid of my land line and I'll be happy to tell AT&T why.

Any legitimate debt collection agent must send you a letter by USPS with proof of the debt you owe and this must happen within a certain time frame. If you have a debt you are concerned about [again, I don't, and I get these calls anyhow.. guess why... I did a bankruptcy a few years ago], I'd look up the laws relating to collections, or even do a quicky consult with an attorney about that topic, often for free. The information should give your mind some relief of the anxiety and fear that the sleezoid collections companies clearly try to take advantage of.

It is a number for AT&T.  I called it back because someone called me on it and it registered on my caller id.

I just received this call on my Verizon Cell phone and no message was left. I just don't answer unknown calls.  They can call me all day and all night---I'm not going to answer.  Funny though---I just booked a car through Hotwire and used my cell number as a contact phone number---I don't have a land-line.  I wonder if that is how the number is getting out to what seems like telemarketers.

Received a call from this number just a few minutes ago. When I answered, there was silence and then a hang up.  I called the number back and it was AT&T. When I asked why they called and hung up, the man with AT&T said he was in Oklahoma and that his phones aren't capable of making outgoing calls. (Yeah, right!)  I told him that that's a neat trick since my AT&T Caller ID showed that the call was from 214-858-4572. He then asked me, "Well, for some reason, your call back was switched to me. Why were they calling you?"  I said, "I'm not a psychic so I can't answer your question."  What a boob!!!

It's pretty bad when your own phone company prank calls you!

Currently getting calls 3x or more a day from this number. Picking up is no answer. Their exemption from the Do Not Call list is bogus, something to contact my government representatives about I guess. In the meantime, calling that often a day is ridiculous so I'll be complaining to them.

Researched source of 214-858-4572. AT&T is calling to offer a service. Because they are a telecommunications company, they are not regulated by the FTC and are not subject to the do not call list.

I called AT&T customer service who said they could add me to their Do Not Call list, but it will take up to 30 days to finalize it, and it is only valid for 5 years. They also agreed to reimburse the two *69 fees that I paid to identify who was calling.

In addition to the hang-up calls, we also did talk with an Indian gentleman last week, with AT&T (he called at 9 a.m. on a Saturday). My husband asked to have us removed from the call list, and the Indian guy said, "I will add you to the call back list." and hung up...

Received this call on a Sat Morning at 9:15 AM, it went to answering machine but they left no message.  Might have been because I had submitted a complaint to AT&T earlier that week, but I was already contacted by a local AT&T guy and he had apologized for my earlier issue already.  So I don't know what this call from halfway across the country was for or why they left no message, might just be a coincidental sales call attempt by AT&T or something.
