This place repeatedly calls.  I've been cursing (at Ann today) and call them back and hit '1' to be removed from their call list and they keep on calling

The CallerID says SEC ALERT.  It's a dispatched robocall.  No computer voice, it went right to a real person that was asking for the homeowner.

So here is the information on the company calling you and a telephone number for the owner's cellphone. Feel free to give him a call and a piece of your mind... Maximum Security Alarm / Sacramento / Andrew Higgins. Maximum Security Alarm, based out of Sacramento, California (1010 Hurley Way, Suite 525, Sacramento, CA 95825). Owned and ran by Andrew Higgins, his [removed:lang] brother David Higgins and their  [removed:lang] father Dennis Higgins. Is just one of many scams this Higgins family and their friends have been doing for a long time, at least 8 years for this company. The awful things they do on a regular basis are just way too much for me to mention and invest any additional time into. They have the most complaints for any alarm company and probably any company for that matter and they wouldn't have this many complaints, especially back to back to complaints unless it were all true. Save yourself a hassle and don't do business or interact with these people on any level. You can reach the owner Andy Higgins on his cellphone @ 916-223-6311. He will tell you that his company in no way calls people on the Do Not Call Registry. I believe that's a lie because if you google Maximum Security Alarms and look at a few of the RipOff Reports and such, you will see action has been taken against them for doing just that. The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government's allegations, which have not yet been proven. On February 5, 2013, the State of Missouri filed a petition for preliminary and permanent injunctions, restitution, civil penalties and other court orders against Maximum Security Alarm. The petition alleges, in part, that Maximum Security Alarm engaged in a pattern of outbound telephone calls violating Missouri's No-Call List Laws by contacting telephone lines placed on Missouri's Telemarketing No-Call List in an attempt to solicit customers for home security systems. The petition also alleges that Maximum Security Alarm caused the telephone to ring repeatedly in an annoying, abusive or harassing manner by soliciting consumers after they had made known they did not wish to receive calls and utilized methods to circumvent caller identification services. The petitions seeks to enjoin Maximum Security Alarm from making telephone solicitations to those who have placed themselves on Missouri's No-Call List, require MSA to pay $5,000 per violation of the No-Call List Laws, pay the state for all investigative and prosecution costs, and to pay the State of Missouri an amount equal to 10 percent of the total restitution ordered against Defendant. This matter is currently pending. Caller: Maximum Security Systems Call Type: Telemarketer

CID shows "SEC ALERT". A real person gets on the line to sell me a GE home security system and ask me about my home security system. I tell him I have one and am very happy with it. He says "OK, Bye".
Strange phone call.

Like so many others I got a robo call.  This number said it was regarding Dependency (Alcohol, Drugs, etc.).  I had a few minutes to kill so I pressed the button and got in line.  A few moments later a guy came on the line and asked a few questions about who it was I was calling for.  I played along. He said it was the Southern Crisis Consultants.  He asked questions, I asked questions.  I asked where they were and he said in Florida.  Wow! I used to live in Florida.  Where in Florida I asked.  He told me a small town called Boynton Beach.  Wow again!  I lived there in 2002.  Where in BB I asked?   Congress St.  you know I had to ask near what east west street he was near.  Then when he asked for my cousin's phone number number (I told him I was calling for my cousin) I told him I was not allowed to give that number out and hung up on him!
Yeah, I know it will not stop the calls, but at least I had some fun with the guy.  By the way, the guy told me they were all volunteers and no one was a paid employee.

They are calling my home and my job.  I work for the federal government who is monitoring our phone calls.  I don't need to lose 32 years behind something like this.  It's too simple to tell them to stop calling when you can monitor the calls, but I get this call everyday on my home phone and now they are calling my office phone.

Hmm, thanks, Gary, for the advise.  Not answering at all is the sensible thing to do.  I didn't know they sell any number who answers, but that makes sense, too.

Faked / spoofed number - just another of a million calls an hour by the telemarketing baboons.

The sure fire sign of a scam artist is a fake or non-working number.  No legitimate business would ever use that since they WANT customers to be able to call them and spend money with them.   A scammer just wants the money and then never to be found.

I just turned off the ringers on all my phones a few years ago. A legitimate caller will leave a message and I can answer the phone when I hear who it is on the speaker. Works great since most of the scumbags just hang up at the answering machine and I don't even know there was a call until I check the caller ID for missed calls.

Gary is right.  Worst thing you can do is answer the phone.  You will not "get" them.  Eventually, HOPEFULLY, the government will, but we as their victims cannot "get" them.  It may make you feel better to mess with them, but ultimately it will come back to bite you in the form of many more unwanted calls.  So let it ring!  By the way, this number just called me and left no message.

Once you answered, you already enabled more callers. Block the number but they have thousands of numbers to use.

There is no "getting" of the scammers. You have lost as soon as you answer the phone. Once a connect is made, they have a list number that they sell.  They don?t even have to be selling anything, just making phone connections.

If you cuss at them, they will be sure to sell the number.  When I stopped answering all unrecognized numbers, the number of calls seemed to have cut way back. I used to get about 8 - 10 a week, not it is down to just one a week maybe.

got robocall from 215-490-9029 caller ID said "Unknown Name" on Tuesday 5-07-13 @ 1110 AM.

This one with new topic started out about "Drug & Alcohol use" and press 1 if U want to here more.
Had my 'Cuss & Swear' Rant already set up and ready to go for them on my computer..
So pressed '1' and these SCAMMERS seem to have a new SCAMMING phone system = the recording switched over and said "You are 24th in line to talk to a Representative" then it would ring a bit and then the recording would say "You are 22nd in line to talk to a Representative."
After one or two more of those dumb messages that was enuff for me I hung up on the SCAM Call.
You know they WILL call back - will get the SCAMMERS next time.
