You report the number to the "Do Not Call List" as I have.  I reported it to PA's & the National Do Not Call lists.

I just received a call from this # , googled it & ended up here. I have to tell you that PA STATE POLICE DO NOT solicit money. I got a call from a man last year claiming to be doing this, I think they said it was for PA State Police injured in the line of duty or something & I completely fell for it, until he got half ignorant that I wanted address to send a check rather than give him my credit card. I then called the police to ask about it & they say the NEVER CALL to try to get money for ANY reason. I know our local police call & ask for money for something once a year, but don't fall for this!

same thing, keeps calling and does not leave a message; hit redial and left it on speaker and just kept calling my husbands name, UNBELIEVABLE.  Would love to know how "they" got our home phone number

Well, I don't know about having "true expertise" but be aware that 800notes is an anonymous forum, everyone good and evil can post here. "Call the number back and it will allow you to put your number on the 'do not call' list." might be legit, might be posted by a shill to lure victims to call, there's no way to really tell.
My advice is get your name on the national DoNotCall Registry. It takes ~1 month to activate and every telemarketer who calls you after that first month is either a scammer or an abusive telemarketer who breaks the do-not-call law and you should treat them like crap. Charities, political and survey calls are exempt from the DNC registry and you can tell those to put you on their internal DNC lists. All companies that telemarket are required by law to maintain internal DNC lists good for 5 years.

Just again same number as Jan 3, 2012. When answer no one was there.

Can someone with true expertise advise whether this is legit?  I know that e-mail scammers offer phony so-called "unsubscribe" links just to get feedback that confirms your e-mail address is valid.

Personally, I wouldn't trust some sleazy telemarketing operation's offer to put my number on a do not call list.

just rec this again for the 40millionth time..I don't pick up..it's the same voice every time..he says hello are you there?..I already am on the do not call list ..who are these people and what can be done about this??

caller claims to be with chiefs of police soliciting money.

I've periodically received these calls on caller ID and, as with others, no message.  The calls are during the day.  My concern is who they are, why they have my unlisted number since I'm on the "do not call listing".  I'm grateful for this site especially the detailed message that this is no doubt a fraud call.  My rationale to anything is this: if they have my unlisted number, then they no doubt have my address.  Send me something in writing.  I plan to try to "block" the number but not sure if it'll help.  Thank you all for the "tip" on this number.

Have been receiving calls every few days.  Probably received my number from 317-472-8016 which has also been calling me every few days.  Am reporting.

Same experience - call comes in twice a day, no message is left.  Now I know why.  What adds insult to injury is that we don't even live in Bucks County.

I continue to receive these calls daily.  Problem is, I have an unlisted number and am on the "do not call list!!"  How can this be stopped except to not answer the phone??  They never leave a message, only an annoying hang-up with beep-beep on the answering machine!!

Man said taking donation for police. I said I don't donate to unsolicited calls. He thanked me & hung up.

This number called me several times - never leaving a voicemail - a pet peeve of mine. Don't know what they want or they are, but very annoying.

Sorry but according to the index of exchanges, call did not originate from Levittown but Bedminster, PA which is quite a distance. If you do not answer, the caller will hang up without leaving a message on the answering machine. Good sign that he/she doesn't want any recording of their voice and the evidence to solicit monies under false pretenses. Seems to know federal protection laws ?. Next time I did answer and there was no response to my "hellos". Definitely is the markings of a SCAM.

I received a phone from this number 215-795-3038,Just left "Hello" on voice message. I called the number back stating that he is from the Pennsylvania Police Cheif Associates and he stated that they having fund drive to accept money. I asked the gentlemen how did he get my number he stated that could be generated ways.

There is no Pennsylvania Police Chief Associate but there is Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association and I have emailed that Organization.

Said he was from "Pennsylvania Cheif of Police Assoication."   Asked for my credit card number.   FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD.

calls from this number will not identify themselves. If they can't be bothered to tell me who they are, I can't be bothered to answer

Caller was highly aggressive and very pushy to get me to donate money even after I suggested he could send me something through the mail.

Most calls that claim to be from charities asking for money are actually made by telemarketing companies that keep about 70% of your donation.  The calls with Police or Fire Department are even worse, keeping 90% or more of your donation.  I never give to anyone who calls me.

Said it was the PA state police soliciting donations.  I told them to send me the info....they had my name an address already...very strange.  When I get it, I am going to take it to the State Police to see what they have to say.

got a call from this # and a man said hellloo other then that when i called back the number it said to leave my # if i want to not receive any more calls from them..erry funeral home like music was playing in back ground very strange.

Caller ID said "Bedminster PA"; didn't answer. No message left.
