Just called them and went Irate on their supervisor.He trys to tell me that one of his operators does not represent the whole company,I then told him BS,one person working for a company represents THE WHOLE COMPANY. Called today at 12:27pm at home while out (on a SUNDAY! Grrr) Caller ID said, "MIDWEST PUBLI" left no message (of course) based on website chatter sounds like they are telestalkers/panhandlers for some charity, God knows which one because they never leave messages and I never pick up.

I called Verizon and had them block this number from calling my cell for 90 days.

Their business number is 602-943-1244.  If you call them they claim that your number isn't in the system, but tell them anyway.  You can then file a complaint with the state of Arizona as well as the FCC.

Called and hung up again!! I gurantee the "Happy" post here was made by these scammers...either that or from the biggest sucker ever born!!

Got a phone call from this number today.  No one there when I answered.  At first, I thought it was a real call, because I grew up in Big Rapids, MI (one horse town with only two exchanges, 796 being the main one).  When I looked up the number and saw that it was Midwest Publishing, I was so mad.  I remember these scammers from when I lived there... they were notorious for cheating their telemarketers as well.

Getting frequent calls in the early evening. Playing back my messages, male caller refers to me by my first name and then states he is leaving the office and wanted to get back to me. Since I am not responding, caller says he will wait for a moment for me to pick up and eventually he hangs up. My recommendation is to report this company to the Do Not Call Registry.

Just got a call from them asked for someone who lived here before,Hung up in face, not the first time they have called.I am trying to get back in touch with them and let them hear me OUT!

Constant baggering, missed calls

I keep getting phone calls from this number (231-796-7051) and when I answer the phone no one will say anything.  My caller ID says Midwest Publishing but when I try to call it back the phone rung once and it made a buzzing sound.  I called again later and the number is always busy.  I am tried of these calls.  We work 2nd/3rd shift hours and this has caused me to have to keep the phone out of the bedroom so we can sleep.  I pay the bills in my home so I should be able to keep my phone wherever I want too.  What can be done to these people?

They called and wanted a donation to the fallen heroes fund. This money would go to the children for their education. I told them that I have given my limit for the year and could not help. I repeated this 5 times and then yelled at the guy to speak to a supervisor. Like that helped any he started on his rant. I asked to be taken off the list and nothing I had to just hang up. No respect from these people. Makes me wonder if this is not a scam!!

The caller ID only shows "OUT OF AREA", but I have TrapCall setup on my cellphone. However, the number was still masked even at TrapCall, so I answered it. Guess who - effin' MIDWEST PUBLISHING COMPANY in Michigan, scam artists extraordinaire. They claim to solicit "charitable" donations for dozens of non-profits, including Narcotics Officers Association, Firemen's Charitable Fund, etc. I told them to stop calling me for the millionth time and hung up. I have *repeatedly* told them not to call me for ANY charity, fundraiser, or product they represent and to put me on their internal DO NOT CALL list. I do not donate to any charity over the phone, PERIOD. Yet they continue to call me, and it has gotten to the point of harassment.

They have somehow gotten my personal home phone number (though it is unlisted), and they call me all day long, from 8:30AM to 9:30PM at night. I blocked their number as well as any "anonymous" callers, so one of their asinine employees by the name of STEVE ROSZELL has taken to calling me at home all hours of the day from his PERSONAL CELLPHONE in an effort to get around my call block service. His cellphone number is (231) 250-8006, so I'm guessing he works for the Midwest Publishing facility in Big Rapids, MI.  In fact, I know he does because when I got the call on my cellphone I demanded that the person tell me his name, and he said, "This is Steve Roszell with the Narcotics Officer's Association."  LIE.  He is not a cop.  He is a scum-sucking telemarketer for Midwest Publishing.

On 10/12/2009 they called me at 10:13AM and 11:47AM. The 11:47AM call is when I told them to stop calling me on my cellphone. Then the calls began on my home phone. On 10/12/2009 they called my home phone at 8:22PM, 7:43PM, 7:42PM, 5:27PM, 5:22PM, 4:56PM, 4:51PM, 4:50PM, 3:20PM, and 12:22PM. That's a total of 12 calls on 10/12/2009.

On 10/14/2009 they called me on my home phone number at 9:05AM, 10:13AM, 11:02AM, 1:05PM, 1:23PM, 1:24PM, 2:38PM (Steve Roszell's personal cellphone number showed), 3:17PM, 3:23PM, 4:10PM, 4:11PM, 5:35PM, 6:15PM, 6:16PM (Steve Roszell's personal cellphone number showed),7:38PM , 7:50PM , 8:58PM. On that same day (10/14/2009), they also called me three more times on my cellphone despite me telling them two days earlier to never call me again at that number: 4:12PM and 6:16PM That is 19 (NINETEEN!!!) calls IN ONE DAY from effin' Midwest Publishing.

Today, 10/15/2009, it started again bright and early on my home phone at 8:58AM, which was once again immediately followed by a call from Steve Roszell's personal cellphone number (231-250-8006) at 9:05AM. The tool is still trying to figure out how to beat my Call Block service. (Good luck, moron!) If that isn't harassment, I don't know what is. I'm seriously considering legal action at this point. I feel they will not stop harassing me unless I initiate a lawsuit! This is ridiculous.

1) the "do not call" list is not your magical f***ing barrior from telemarketers, it is for people trying to SELL you things, not trying to raise funds.  Do your f***ing homework, non-profit orginizations are EXEMPT from the dnc list.  dumbasses.

2) not a single one of you has gotten a call on a saturday.  your an idiot.  stop lying to try to make a company look bad, act like adults about it and stop lying.

3) if you don't want them to calll, just ask to be put on their internal do not call list.  not that f***ing hard, or you can just get on the internet and b***h about it like a 13 year old girl that got dumped by her boyfriend cause she wasn't pretty enough.  douches.

These people call me incessantly, twice daily. Once in the morning and once after 5pm on my business phone. They usually block their ID, but if I'm still in the office, I'll pick up the phone and say, "we're sorry, but the party you're trying to reach does not accept unavailable calls." I then hang up. They immediately unblock the phone and call right back, however. The ID box says that they are "Midwest Publish" and that's all that's visible. I have yet to answer to talk to anyone from there. This has been going on for several months, now. I'm at my wits end and thoroughly fed freakin' up!

This number calls my cellphone frequently, sometimes several times a day and always this number of some variant thereof: (213) 796-xxxx. I answered yesterday, and it is apparently some telemarketing firm trying to solicit donations for some police drug task force.  I have a feeling they try to solicit money for a lot of different organizations, thus the constant calls.  They do not obey the request to be put on their DO NOT CALL list or care that they are calling a cellphone.  RUDE!

Funny that you are happy there are companies like this, people who are nothing but phone spammers.  If you gave money to them then you were duped.  I would bet 90+ percent of your donation went in their wallets.

Just called here. no message. I don't answer calls if I don't recognize the number, and Midwest Publish has no business with me. Nice or not, I don't care, just don't call!

They call at least 2 times a day, even on weekends. No messages are ever left

called twice in 10 minutes asked for my daughter - i said she was not home (she wasn't) and wanted to know when she would be back. I asked who this was that was calling - she said Kelsey- i asked who she worked for and she hung up on me......

I first got a blocked call (caller I.D. stated "unknown") and then got another call within ten minutes with this phone number and my caller I.D. stated: "midwest publish". (I DID say "hello" with the blocked call, BUT THEY HUNG UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I got a "live" person who said they were accepting donations for some police benevolent something or other charity. The guy mentioned how the police are always there to help protect against violent crime against people and work against people breaking into your home. The way it was worded was downright creepy.

I listened to his "schpiel", and then said if he wanted a donation he'll have to send the request by mail as I do not agree to any monetary dealings over the phone - and then I hung up - without giving him ANY more information!

I wouldn't trust whoever these people are with a ten-foot-pole!

Having said that, I have two very protective dogs, and more importantly, a loving God who protects me 24/7.

I do not allow fear to control my actions.

As soon as I saw "Midwest Publish," I knew it was a scam of some kind, but I answered anyway. "Is Tom there?" No Tom here. "Well, is this the man of the house." Yeah. "We're calling for breast cancer research."

The government simply has to do something about these callers. Apparently the DNC list stopped them for a while, but by spoofing numbers, they can operate just as they always did.

Breast Cancer Research donation request.  This is the first time they've called when I was home.  They said "Mr K, you are a hard man to get a hold of".  Obviously the DNC list is ignored by these spammers (just look at the Iowa and New York Attorneys General sites on Midwest Publishing to see the trouble they've gotten into previously).

Got a call on my cell phone from 231-796-7051 and the person asked for my husband.  I asked who was calling and he said Kevin.  When I handed the phone to my husband he hung up.  When we try to return the call, the call does not go through.  It sounds like something is wrong with the line.  This is my cell phone which is on a DNC list.
