I ha these folks contact me a few months back and they told me my social security number but refused to tell me who or what the lawsuit was about. The called 3 times within the hour and I went and filed a report wih my local police department and the police officers there said it was a fraud. Well just recently they called me again this time from a different # 567-248-5042, and the voicemail was the EXACT same as the one they left me on my phone a few months back. Very heavy accent, couldn't pronounce my name correctly and sounded like they were reading from a script. The foreigner then Called my work and I told him that I already contacted the police and I know it's fraud and not to call me again and hung up the phone

Does anyone know what happened to these people?  They called me for about 3 months straight, cell and work.  I asked them finally where they were calling from and they told me from Marco Island FL.  I called the police department there and they told me that they were having people call from all over the US complaining about these scammers!  They told me to notify the credit bureau's to let them know that someone has my ss number.  They kept calling me with all these different names and so i fianlly started calling them back and asking to speak with the same people who were calling me, and giving them the same bs they were telling me, asking them if they had an attorney.  i did this for about 5 days straight, 5 times a day, letting them know that i knew they were scammers and that the police knew about them.  That was about 3 weeks ago and i have not herd from them since i started calling them back.  I just tried to call the number again today to see if i could reach someone and let them know that we all know about them and the phone doesn't even ring!  I just want to know the update on these people and if anyone else is still receiving phone calls.  If you are, just call them back, don't give them your name, use one of the names they gave you and tell them that they need an attorney because the police know about their scamming.

Got a call today from this number, with the person claiming to be Alex Watson fro mthe Criminal Investigation Bureau. They said there was a suit against me for nonpayment of a payday advance loan. I informed him that I have never taken out a payday advance loan, and for him to provide me with documentation showing otherwise. he insisted that they have PROOF that I did receive this money. I informed "Mr. Watson" that I would be waiting for this information in the mail, and for them to take me to court if they have to. I think he said he was from NY (hard to tell because he had a VERY heavy accent), which is weird becasue the call came from Florida.

Same thing is happening to me.  They gave me the number 864-556-0179 to call back.  Do a search on that number and see if the reports on that forum are simliar to what you are dealing with.

These people are calling my job and they are calling my cell phone. they can't speak english but want to tell me they are law enforcement and posing to be a cop as well as calling from 911 with an indian speaking.  WHO ARE THESE CRAZY PEOPLE?  I have called law enforcemnent to look into.

They called claiming to be law enforcement. Well I am in the military and handed the phone to my friend who is a police officer this did not phase them. They threatened to take me to court etc. It is a major scam.

Got the same message as the rest.  They have a really hard time pronouncing my name so i know its them right off the bat.  When he called today I said hold on I want to record this call and he was like okay because I dont think he could understand me.  I just hung up after that because I know it is a scam.  I want to know the best thing to say to get them to shut up and take me off their list so they will stop calling.

They call me today with same stories as the other victim. we got to find a way to stop people from robbing the hard working citzen. of their  hard earning and life saving. They call my job to. i will take this to a lawyer that I know. will get back at  yall with answer soon

I keep getting calls from this number.  I can't fully understand what they are saying because they have a very heavy accent.  They are very rude and keep saying they have a warrant out for my arrest but won't tell me why.  VERY RUDE!!!  They refuse to tell me the name of their company.  The guy I spoke with today said his name is Alex Watson.

I too got a call from (239)259-1649 and they claim to be federal officers by the name of Nash,Smith, and a Brown and said I was going to be arrested at home or at work if I didn't pay $745.35. Almost felt for it but reported it to the local law enforcement which they called them personally and told them it was against the law to pose as officers. After having a conversation they said they weren't police officers and that they would no longer call me,but that they still wanted me to call them that I still owe a debt that I never received. I strongly suggest who ever else gets the phone calls or continues to receive these harassments to call their local law enforcement or the local news cause this is a SCAM!!

i got a call from this guy that he claims his name is officer jim anderson and he is stating that he is looking for my bf and that he will be arrested, i had clearly asked what was this in regards to and he just said mam i am not allowed to give you that information since i am not the spouse.  When i tried calling back th number it was just a busy signal. And i recommend to anyone else who gets a call from this number please be warned to change your number or to just tell him to contact your attornys its a bunch of bs and a scam. also it is a guy from across the states posing as your very own officers in your area......please protect urselfs and do not give your information to this jack***.

I got a call from this number not even an hour ago, and like other posts, they told me that some company in New York was investigating me, He gave me my social security number and mailing address and told me that he was going to send me some more information regarding the supposed lawsuit. When I asked him what company was investigating me, he refused to tell me; and when I asked to speak to someone who spoke "American English," he put someone else on the phone who's accent was as thick as his. I put the phone number they called me from in www.whitepages.com and found out that it was a landline in Florida! I called the number back, accidentally, and he called back and asked to speak to somebody named Tom. This is a HUGE scam and I don't feel safe knowing that some complete stranger has my social security information.

I also received a call from this number today and received a VM saying it was Officer Michael White from the Bureau of Crime and Restitution.  I tried to call back but got busy signal.  He also had a very heavy accent.

I got a voice message from this number. He said he Officer Alex Watson with the New York Investigation. I am hurt. He didn't say, "God Bless You". I am going to file a police report. Odd area code 239 is a Florida number.

This person has called me at work twice and also on my cell phone.  The first time he said he was a paralegal at a law office and that I was having a lawsuit filed against me.  When I inquired about the nature of the lawsuit, he had no case file or information.  I got another call today at work, and I just told him that the person he was calling for was not at work today.  I had a message on my cell phone when I left work, and he identified himself as Officer Michael White from the Bureau of Crime and Restitution.  He has ended each message by saying God bless you and I hope nothing happens to you.   His accent is very thick and he is hard to understand.

They called me looking for a Lori Denton.  Said she was wanted for major fraud.  I told them she was using my number without my permission.  She has used my phone number all over the internet and I receive all kinds of text messages for her for cash loans and credit cards.  Even dating websites.  The gentleman apologized to me and I was told my number would be removed.  He even gave me the address she was using.

Got the same call from these guys claiming I had a suit filed against me for check fraud and an outstading loan. They claimed to be from the department of grand investigations and that their names were Officer John Matthews and Officer Rogers. They told me the police were going to come to my house and arrest me in front of my family and neighbors and caused a scene. I am a veteran and I told him get bent.

this guy called my son 5x's one day, 3 the next and the next.he said my son was going to go to jail unless he paid him $745.35.  he said he worked for citi bank collections and the money had to be paid by 5p.m. friday or he was going to jail on tuesday.he is going by the name of "OFFICER JOHN MATTHEWS. i fell for his bs, but i also called my credit card company, my son called the reno pd. this man  called my son again yesterday with the same threat. i told him i called the banks, the pd and ins.

I got a call twice on my job and once on my cell phone.  They told me that a file was filed against me and that if I didn't call they would send someone to my house or my job.  The message left on my cell phone was not very clear at all because of the heavy accent and at the end of the message he said "God bless you and that I hope nothing happens to you.  Also as well I was give the name of Roger Smith.

They called me 5 times this week at work 3 of the 5 yesterday. They even called my dad's house asking for me and well his # is private and has recently been changed. The tried to tell me that someone had filed suit against me and that they wanted to verify the last 4 of my social and i refused to answer so he told me that he could not discuss anything else with me unless i did. The names they used are Matthew Evans, Tony Brown, Mr. Smith, Carnegie Nash.
