i just got this call too, said free college locator service.  i asked to remove from database as this is a minute cell phone (obama phone) they said sure no problem!  we'll see.

239-491-4708  -- 2:30 pm 9/15/11  Ventura, CA   Rang about 6 times, didn't answer.  Added to my blocked call list on my call blocker that I bought from Amazon for about $70

Just a correction ... You'd file a complaint with the FTC not FCC but the link I put in the original message above is correct for the Do Not Call Registry.

It is an organization, 866-Degree (or something like that), that is trying to get you to sign up for job training, either a certificate program or other supposed job training education.  I called the number back and immediately got a human being to speak with.  If you're not on the Do Not Call list they will be calling you, especially if you've done something on the internet and missed the chance to "opt out" of these types of calls.  If you continue to get unwanted calls from them do as I did; call them and demand to be taking off of their call list.  By law, they then have to remove you.  If they don't file a complaint with the FCC.  Also, www.donotcall.gov is the official website to be placed on the Do Not Call list for telemarketers (there are some exceptions to this law).

Have been calling everyday for 2 weeks and leave no message. Called back and they said Thanks for calling 866-My-Major. No idea how they got my number. They still haven't stopped calling!

They called me saying I requested information about going back to school, but they didn't know if I was out of highschool, in college, going back for trade, etc. I said GTFO and hope to not hear back.

I have no idea why but I get calls from 239 - 491 - 4708, I answer and they say something about a cetain service or language and I have no idea so I hang up... how long are they gonna call me? Is this the same scam place that offered me a 'fake' acceptence to college when I was 11?

I called the number back and they claimed that I requested information about college. I told them that they were wrong and they said they would stop calling me. Hope that helps.

I get calls from this number 239-491-4708 at least 6-10 times a day, when I answer they say thanks for answering please hold, then nothing......

I also get these emails telling me to call  this number 970-812-9357

I get the call every day and they never leave a message.  Cost the caller $s to leave a message, so their computer hangs up when a human doesn't answer.  It has been going on for 2 weeks now.  I am on the do not call list for solicitors! Report them if you on the same service.

This number calls my phone 5 to 6 times a day and they say nouthing,  when they do answer you can't understand a word. This is a big problem and very annoying .. and they really don't have much to say at all. Isn't there something that could be done about these people ..
