ADA has called twice recently, although it looks like they took a six month vacation between blasting our phones.

Our phone rang at about 8:55 PM last night.  Since I wanted to see the conclusion of the TV show I had been watching, I did not even get up to answer the call.  Later the caller ID indicated it was from ADA.  Research has revealed this number to be a telemarketer calling on behalf of the American Diabetes Assn.  Having been suffering from this affliction for over 35 years, these dastards can rot in hell.  Every year I have heard their same lie......a cure should be found in the next 5 to7, 7-10, 3-5 years, all we need is a little more funding.  This is completely BS.  For those of us who have to continue to pay the increasing costs for medications and supplies, the ADA can go F themselves.  I firmly believe that there is already a cure locked away in a lab somewhere, however, the big drug companies will never give up their ever fattening cash cow in exchange for releasing it.  It is cheaper to pay off the politicians in office to keep it this way.  If you don't believe this, you do the math on the ever increasing retail cost of insulin, syringes, test supplies, alcohol swabs, trips to the blood lab, and multiple trips to the PCP and endocrinologist every year.  Take that number and multiply it by the 28 million Americans with diabetes, a number that that also increases each year.  The total is sickening.  The whole thing is yet another scam on the American public.

There is no group that calls more than ADA. Every night!  Unfortunately, they have now turned me off to their charity and I will NEVER give them a dime, but will go elsewhere.

I have been harrassed by these people with call after call.  I finally got a person and told them I was going to report them to the Do Not Call Registry.  They hung up.

They call two, three times a day. I don't answer. I finally called the number back, entered "1" after their robot, then entered my number to be removed. Let's see how it works out. American Diabetes Association, by the way. I've done fundraising for them in the past, but, after this incessant three-times-a-day calling for the past several weeks, they can do their fundraising without me.

My experience is the same as the rest of the posts here.  It identifies it as ADA.  We humorously identify it as the American Dumb--- Society, as we can pick up and get no response, they don't know how to leave a message, and if we jsut pick up and say nothing, they hang up.  Obviously, they don't know how to use a telephone.

Don?t be a presinor in your own home, afraid to answer your phone etc.
When these operations call asking for money, tell them you?re glad they called. Tell them you think you?ve donated to their type of group before when times were financially better for all of us and you would love to be able to contribute again.
Ask them for the name of their group??Whatever they say - pause (as if you are looking over a list) and maybe ever repeat the name they gave you in a low voice.
Then say ?Yes, I see I given to you folks before. However, because times have changed and I?m in a different situation, could you please RETURN some of the money I?ve donated. Maybe just $200 or even $100 would be great and thanks you so much.?

This may also work with mail and e-mail requests.  Remember to use any prepaid envelopes you reveice to send back your request at the senders expense.

Have fun.

I contribute once per year via a walkathon (and always give my office phone number). They obviously are fundraising again.

When I picked up the phone, the woman apologized not knowing it was a business and hung up.

I get a call from this # AT LEAST 3x a week.  Thank heaven for caller ID - I NEVER answer and they NEVER leave a message.  I thought ADA stood for American Dental Association (I use to be a dental assistant way earlier in life).  Whoever they are - seems they aren't legit.  I signed on with the Do Not Call list a long time ago and recently updated and renewed my information... doesn't make any difference.  These scammers do what slime does - still get through the cracks.  Best advice - simply don't answer when you see their #.

Calls from this number many times a week; Saturdays, Sundays, nights.  Caller ID shows ADA.  I'm not interested, but they don't seem to care.  Perhaps this is a "Wear 'em Down" strategy.

I have been getting calls from this number as well as 410-202-0108, both numbers from ADA.  Wish I could find out who they are as they are the most annoying calls.  I think every charity, debt collector or other annoying caller should be required to identify themselves with the number and not just something like ADA which can stand for several things--FULL NAME.

These calls are coming from the American Diabetes Association which displays its BBB charities rating.  File a complaint with the BBB, if their rating drops maybe they will get the message.

I have received multiple calls from this number.  Always says ADA.  It is annoying for any business, organization or individual to call and not have the good manners to leave a message.  If it truly is the American Diabetes Association, then they need to re-train their phone operators and make it a policy to leave a message.  Being polite goes a long way and it might result in more donations.  Current method seems to be angering the majority of the people who've received calls.  If anyone has had success in getting them to stop calling, please respond.  I've read many comments which give what the person is going to do, but I haven't read any response from anyone who has had the calls stop.

I get calls almost on a daily basis from ADA. My caller ID shows ADA calling from a variety of numbers in MD and VA. I did a little digging. While it may be American Diabetes Assn, there is also a debt collection agency called Allen Daniels Associates. Google it to check it out. I think they buy up debts from other creditors for pennies on the dollar and then try to collect. My wife and I owe no one anything. We check our credit reports annually and they are both squeaky clean.
I guess I'm in the minority but I don't find it annoying. I simply don't answer.
