they call my cellphone 2 to 4 times a day....never leave me voice mail....when i called their number back to see what the company name is, they just answer"how can i help you"...getting very annoying...i have quit answering the phone when they call and i see their number on my display

STOP CALLING  I HAVE A 6 MOS BABY WITH LOTS OF PROMLES I DO NOT NEED HASSING PHONE CALL.   THAT CALL 20 TIMES A DAY.

Calls do not cease. It sounds like they are looking for a person whose name sounds a lot like my brother-in-law 1500 miles away. They call repeatedly. They ask that the person call them back at 1-888-785-7671. I personally know the Attorney General in my state. Keep it up. I'd like to see what happens to you. Caller said in his message that his name is Lamont but the last name seems intentionally slurred but sounds like Gordon. I called the company back and a recording says to wait for the next representative but doesn't give the name of the business. A real business wouldn't do this. Sounds like fraud.

I received several calls from 240-399-8965, Buckeystown, MD. Didn't answer b/c I didn't recognize the number. Decided to call back and see what it was.  After the recording a woman answered slurring the company name badly. I asked her what the name of the company was again and she hung up. I called back and reached someone who said their name was Ms. Williams. She gave me a name of someone they were looking for. I told her they had the wrong number, she said she'd remove my number from their list. Then I received 9 more calls back to back of the intial woman (slurring woman) bein profane, pressing buttons on the phone and just being immature and ignorant.  I'd like to know what we can all do about this.  There has to be something that can be done to stop these insane practices.

I have been receiving calls from 240 699 8965 over the last week or so.  The caller ID says ERMI.  If I answer the phone, there is a message about holding for an important call.  I hang up.  The same message is left on my answering machine.

This afternoon I picked the phone up and a man asked for Martha Lou, told him no one was here by that name and hung up.  Then decided to check the web and see just who this number was from.  Eventually came up with this website.  

Interesting information here.  If they call again, I'll get names, etc and report them to the Do Not Call Registry and also get in touch wtih the Florida State Attorney General.  I had no idea these are things I could do.

240-699-8965 THIS NUMBER HAS CALLED FOR THE PAST WEEK SEVERAL TIMES PER DAY.  THEY WRE VERY DECEPTIVE AND OUTRIGHT RUDE. WE FILED A FULL REPORT WITH THE NATIOAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY AND WILL CALL THE FLORIDA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL MONDAY.

Called 4 times within 1 hour alone.  When we answer, a machine asks us to please hold for a representative or something like that.  Rep's are very rude and aggressive:  they will not identify who they are, or what they want.  I found an online source (www.411.com) who says this number is a Verizon land-line, from Buckeystown, Maryland.  I contacted the Frederick Co. Sheriffs office about the harrassment we have been getting, they said that if we can provide them with an address (names of employees would be helpful too) then they can issue a peace order forcing them to end all contact.  I have also filed a complaint with the do-not-call registry, and the FTC.

Keep calling our number from 240-699-8965 and 888-785-7671.  Will not tell what they want unless I give them the last four digits of my SS#.  I told them I would not give any information until I knew why they were calling.  Said she would not tell me with the SS#.  Told her not to call again and she said she would keep calling.  Finally she hung up on me.  Had six calls yesterday before our conversation and none yet today from 240-699-8965.  Did not know until visiting this website that the two telephone numbers were in any way related.  Have received calls from the 888-785-7671 numerous times, like everyday.  He leaves a message asking we return the call.  The caller ID for the 240 # is ERMI and the ID for the 888 # of not provided.

Total Scam

Got a call from this number this afternoon.  When I answered, no one was there.  I called back the number and got a mechanical voice that asked that I hold for a "very important" call.  Needless to say, I did not.

They keep calling for Naomi Brown.  This is a business, we have called them back many times and told them to stop calling, but they persist in calling several times a day.  It is interupting my productivity.

I got a phone call, claiming they were calling concerning a seriously late payment from Embarq (a phone/internet provider).  The amount they gave me over the phone checked with my two statements ago, but my last statement shows we had a credit.  The person I was talking to didn't know anything about this.  I called Embarq, and they didn't show any attempt at collection whatsoever.  This isn't just harassment, this is fraud.  I will be contacting the authorities.  I called back several times using an internet phone, and asked several people what the name of their company was (Encore), and what was their business.  One guy stammered and said, "We do business.  Lots of different kinds of business."  Stammered some more, but couldn't be more specific, and hung up.  This is a shady operation.  They also claimed to be in Kansas City, but it's a Maryland area code.  They couldn't explain that one either.

I've gotten 3 calls from this number within two days.  The first two we're asking for a Steven.  I told them he didn't live at this number.  Then today the call'd asking for him by whole name.  I recognized it as a friend's husband.  Of course, no name showed up on caller ID, just the number.  When I ask'd to take a message, cause I friends of the family, he said "no thank you" and hung up.  I call'd my friend and told her about the call and she found out it was from their cell phone company.  Her phone bill was late.  I'm guessing they got my number from her cell phone bill.   We talk all the time and my number is probably the most frequently call'd.

I have several telephone calls.

  They are ANNOYING.

  If some one has an address.  I will send them a letter advising them to stop harrassing me,  and litigate if they feel they have a valid claim.

Well sometimes rogue collection agencies like this purchase old "bad debts" from firms that have not been able to collect from accounts receivable.  Eventually they may sell these debts to a company like ERMI for pennies on the dollar.  It could be years later after the debt has not been paid.  Unfortunately, phone numbers change hands.  So someone could be getting acalls from these kind of companies even if YOU don't owe anybody anything.  The only thing you can do is inform them in writing via certified mail.  Start recording their calls.  If it persists, sue their a***s.

I have received 2 phone calls from the same Maryland phone number asking for a person not at my phone number. I called the 888 phone number posted by Val and spoke to a female named Genevieve. I requested all phone calls to my phone cease and she told me they'd take my phone number off the list.

I called the 888-785-7671 which is also 240-699-8965. The person (mrs. Soshi) picked up the phone right away and told me very politly that she is calling from Encore.  They are debt collectors, a valid company.  So I guess the only way to make them stop calling is to pay your bills :) This situation doesnt pertain to Chris and the case of mistaken identity.

This is a collection agency, on calling them back they are looking for someone with a different name, presumably who had my phone number previously. They said I had to mail them a letter to get them to stop calling, which I refused to do, since it is their responsibility to confirm that I am in fact the person they want, not mine to waste my time proving otherwise. I don't know if this falls under the Fair Debt Collection Act which requires them to stop calling if they receive a letter from the debtor, since I am not he. My next step, if they persist in calling, is to contact my state attorney general and the federal trade commission.

This Company (ERMI) keeps calling and when you pick up the phone they hang up this is very "ANNOYING"
