Hi folks,
Every once in a while I come to this site to get a giggle.  All this talk about scams and such is quite humorous.
For all you who navigate to this site, once and for all, Goffee & Associates is a field office for Primerica - the largest financial services marketing organization in North America!  The following are some FACTS you should know: 1) Primerica is on the NYSE, ticker symbol PRI.  Look it up. The stock has tripled in four years. 2) Primerica teaches debt freedom and lives it. Primerica has zero debt!  3) Primerica has more $100K and more $1M earners than any company in America, if not the world.  Does that sound like a scam?  4) Yes, some people don't realize that level of success.  But, what is your opportunity to make six figures at your current employer or in your current career?  And BTW, only about 35% of all enrollees at UM, MSU, and most major universities ever obtain a degree from that institution.  Does that mean they are bad schools?  Does it mean the students are bad?  Of course not.  It means it wasn't for them.  The same holds true for Primerica.  5) Primerica is not a multi-level nor a telemarketer.  We are indeed a pyramid.  But so is your company.  People at the top make more than the people at the bottom, right?  That is how every business works. Look at real estate and you will see the exact same model.  So, the question is do you have a chance to reach the top of your company? 6) And finally, Primerica is not a stuffed shirt kind of company that requires you to have a Finance degree or MBA like all the rest of the financial companies.  That means you can have a chance to build a new career for yourself.  The only requirements to be in the financial industry are that you are at least 18, you are not a felon, and you pass some tests.  We have people making $2M and more who were plumbers and mechanics (really, I can prove it).  So, to all the commenters that ask what was on their resume' that would indicate they would qualify to be in the financial industry, I ask what is it about you that would disqualify you.  Do you want a chance for something better or not?  Are you willing to work your butt off to change your life?  If you are, than ignore the garbage you see from people that really don't know anything about the Primerica business opportunity and find out for yourself.

I received just received a call from a person who stated his name is Robert and that he is expanding his company. He stated after looking at my resume, he thinks I would be the prefect candidate for Branch Manager. I agreed to interview with him, tomorrow. However, I decided to research this company and the only information I could find was this site. After hearing all these comments, I am definitely not wasting my time. BE AWARE folks!

Yeah, I'll be canceling my "interview; for tonight. I've been trying to research this company for two days now but all I've come across was the name. Until I hit this page, anyway. And this is the first in my new search but I think I've learned enough.

The post from Here's the Truth is accurate.
I have signed up to sell for Primerica, and they indeed do pay for all your training.  You have to pay a one time $99 background check which they refund to you when you get appointed as a rep.  And there is a monthly $25 internet site charge. Other than that, they are a legit. insurance and financial services company who I believe really do look out for the well being of their clients.  I have received training and licenses in health and life insurance and am currently training for my securities licenses, all of which were free to me.  I did have to pay the exam fee, but that is supposed to be refunded also.
Primerica is first rate and the largest financial services company in North America in terms of the number of licensed representatives.  If you want some part time income that could potentially lead to full time, this is a good way to go.  It is all low pressure and you can go at whatever pace you want.  Call Robert or me, Bill, at 586-786-6693 if interested.

Thank you all for the warning. I too received a call earlier this week from Robert Goffee himself. No website or additional info. I know people who have worked at Primerica and reported that it was a cult. MLM to the tee.I guess I won't be showing up to Troy for the interview.

Funny, I received a call today from Goffee and Associates. Robert Goffee phoned me himself 09/04/2013 regarding management positions his company has available from 1-248-817-2644. He told me the business was a financial company and they were expanding. As like many others he found my resume online. He offered me a interview. They are located on Big Beaver Rd, Troy MI. After our phone conversation I made the initiative to Google the company. I couldn't find any information about the company besides what's posted here from others.I'll have to decline on his offer.

Thanks for the info. I received a message on my work cell phone from a George Hines stating  my "resume came across" his "desk" (which was a bold face lie) and that the company is looking to "train and hire both full and part time" people soon. Gut feeling prompted me to research the name online before calling back.....glad I did. Thank God for Google!!! Saved me time, disappointment and a headache. Still irritated about him calling my work cell and curious how he found it. The number he's now using is 248 743 0366.....BEWARE!!!

I got a phone call from this guy he said he was hiring branch manager position which was complete bs I went to interview with mcgaffine associates found out it was a primamerica office that was being rented out of another software office . I went inside we shot the breeze, I told him primamerica was a big prymrid sheme that was old as time. The recruits people and make money off of how many people they can recut and scam for their contacts. I said no thank you. He said you will never succeed in life unless you join primamerica. Loooool I left. Then 3 months later I get another phone call same guy using the same lines again about hiring a branch manager and asking If I could give him contacts. I politely deliberately and the guy wow just the next could of line were I think he was trying to convince himself that his job was worth it. Loool after a lot of personal attacks that was thrown my way I said good day sir and ended this ridiculous consersation. Lesson learned fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

You're absolutely correct in saying that the guy that runs the office, Mr. Hines, had to work very hard to get where he is today. That is true of most people who have accomplished some semblance of success. I too have never been successful in any MLM organization I've joined; it didn't work. It's not that the several different "opportunities" didn't work, I DIDN'T WORK THE OPPORTUNITY OR BUSINESS. It didn't work for me because I was not passionate about whatever product of service the company offered so I didn't work the business. Money, although most of us would like to believe otherwise, is not the most important motivator for being successful in that type of business. You have to have some or many other reasons for succeeding with your own business, whether it's and MLM or some other entrepreneurial endeavor.  However, sadly, most of us are taught to work that hard for someone else, i.e. a big corporation/company who get rich off of our efforts. I have often asked myself why I would work 50-60 hours/wk for a company who didn't reward me or even acknowledge my hard work with something other than an "atta girl"! Sometimes I didn't even get that. In today's economy and technology age, companies are no longer employing people for long periods of time or at all; either outsourcing jobs to other countries or cutting the pay and/or downsizing the people they employ in the U.S. Although most of us are aware of this, we still cling to this perceived, yet unrealistic notion that companies still offer "job security" when evidence of the exact opposite is all around us; many of us found this out personally, the hard way. I believe entrepreneurship should be taught in k-12 schools and at the very least college, as a mandatory course. I know it's scary for people to venture out, it is for me, and try something other than the what 98% of people in this country do (work for someone else). However, the reality is if I keep doing what I'm doing I'll keep getting what I'm getting. I will not be rich or even comfortable in retirement if I continue teaching. Our salaries continue to plummet, even for teachers like me whose students perform well in the classroom and on standardized tests (I teach mathematics). Although I love my students I do want to experience more of what life has to offer and I can't do that on my salary. So, for the guy below, you're correct in stating that MLM's are legal. But, they have also created more millionaires than any other industry or type of business and you can research that for yourself. If you are willing to kill yourself/work ridiculous hours or extremely hard to make someone else rich, why not do the same for yourself. I am thinking of doing the same myself!

Robert Goffee (who used to use R&O Associates for his "business" name) apparently is now using Goffee and Associates. He is with Primerica. He used to use other telephone numbers to contact people but keeps changing his number so people cannot find other information out there about him. Just look up "Robert Goffee Primerica" or search one of his other old numbers: (248) 408-6628 or (248) 817-8644 or (248) 535-7619. Other posts from "The Truth" or similar name variations, will allow you to find all the information you need to know. In a nutshell it is multi-level marketing. You will need to sign up under him so he gets paid, then you will start recruiting your friends and family to get a "Fast Start." So-called business meetings are nothing more than motivational sessions to try to keep you in.

Thanks to all of you for clearing this up.  I received a call from this Robert Goffee about an interview for a financial position.  I'm not qualified to be in that line of work and my resume is very clear about that.  I knew this had to lead to a sales pitch of some sort.  Thanks, again for the info.

I got the call from Robert Goffee, too, and became suspicious when I couldn't find any info online about Offset Management, the name of the company he gave, only after I asked.  It is supposed to be a financial advise company, but I have been approached by this Primerica thing before and wish to avoid it. Thanks for the heads up.

I got a call from this guy Robert Goffee who told me he was hiring and wanted to interview me because I had a fab skill set.  He did not tell me the name of the company so that was the first red flag.  I thought = why not meet so if it is a scam, I can alert others.  This guy is a train wreck.  Asked me every illegal question you can imagine: Are you married, how many kids do you have, how much money have you saved...I could not believe in the year 2013 I was talking to this creep.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CALL.

Oh, and he failed to mention that he represents Primerica, a pyramid scheme.

I did not get a call. I got an email that was not very explicit. I called back the phone number that was provided with (248 817 2644) but didn't get the purpose of the company. He just invited for an interview. Well I did my homework like anyone would do before going to an interview, but surprisingly could not find anything about the company. That raises some red flags...

Thank you so much for posting this. I just got a call from Robert 1-248-817-2644 on Feb 11, 2013,  asking me to come in for an interview with his company, but he never said what his company does. Although I haven't been actively looking for a job for about 6 months, my Resume is still out there, so I wasn't sure if this was legit or not. He's listed online as Goffee and Associates.

Just received a call from Goffee & Associates a few minutes ago so went to the web to learn what I could. I appreciate the candor of the message. I am familiar enough with Primerica to have known them when they were A.L. Williams. The message to me did not identify products or positons, just that they are expanding and looking to add a couple of positions. The invitation is to come in for an interview. I would not do that without more information and having had calls like this in the past was guessing that it was about financial and/or insurance products.
Not what I want to do at this stage of my life. Thanks again for the heads up.

R. Goffee called me also as if he was talking about something other than an sales job, He mentioned Branch Manager which is what got me.  But after my research I really couldn't find anything concrete about the company or what they did-until I ran across these comments. Thanks for the heads up because that drive was going to be far and gas is not cheap. Good opportunity for someone but I'm not looking for a sales job.

Yeah, same story here. Got a call on my cell phone, which I never have given out that number, and Mr. Goffee mentioned looking at my résumé. Not sure if he has even seen my résumé since it's not out there to be looked at.

The number I was called from was 248-817-2644

Prime rica is a legit company, but it is a sales job and I'm not impressed at all with the shady tactics when they cold call people. Is honesty that difficult?

I did a little research on my own and found out this is for the most part Primerica Insurance or simply stated multi-level marketing.A red flag went up for me when the caller called me at approx. 7:00 pm and stated that he had ran across my resume and wanted to give me a call to discuss an employment opportunity. This was strange because for one thing they contacted me on a phone number that is not on my resume. Caller was also very vague about position, but wanted to set up an interview immediately......Things that make you go ummmmmm!
