My name was not used in the incoming recorded call which came from 1-248-605-0973, only the message "Call Mr Reyas at 1-866-247-1087 about an important matter"
A search for information on 1-248-605-0973 indicates that the number is unpublished or unavailable, it is a land line provided by CAT Communications International located in Clarkston, MI (a second search indicated a Grand Rapids, MI location)

Well, I hate to admit it, but I was taken in by the kindly older African American man I spoke to. He's very good at what he does.

My first thought was this was a bil collector or scam, but he won me over....temporarily.  I'm very grateful for those of you who found out the true origin of these calls.

It was AFTER I posted my last response that I read the entire thread. (I'm so mad I can't see straight.)

I will file complaints with the FTC, Dept. of Consumer Affairs and the Detroit Attorney General's Office.

These bottom feeders shouldn't get away with these tactics Apparently, during this current Administration, it's all about empowering big business and skewering the rest of us.

As soon as I got my new phone number, I got calls from this number three or four times a day.  WHen i finally picked up and spoke to someone, he explained his company checks to see if people with new phone numbers are getting their yellow pages.  He had my complete name, address and telephone number....even though it was unlisted.  He then said as a "courtesy," I'd recieve the New York Daily News for two weeks.  OK fine..

THen, the calls started again. I callled this number back and got an automated response saying if I wanted to be removed from their database, to enter my number. Like an idiot, I did this. Now, that my subscription is coming to an end, I KNOW it is they are calling again listed as "unknown caller."

I am on the "do not call registry," and I also told them that.  Please make these calls stop.  Thanks!

Banana Republic never called me regarding my account dues.These ruthless scams kept bugging me day and night and because my home phone no forwarded to my cell phone, even at work I get these calls .
First time A woman called saying that I won a $20.00 gift certificate for some items that I bought from them through my credit card.Ofcourse was not able to say which card what item. I said I don't want anything , first she tried with soft speaking to obtain my info to send me the certificate .Soon she knew that I can recognize her voice someone else kept calling me.The issue has nothing to do with a collection agent.

Exactly same person james called me after 100 calls from a very rude woman(real disgrace).No reason for a collection agent to call me regarding balance dues for  Banana Republic Apparel whom has my adrress and sent. me a membership card, not the statement yet, but these people keep repeating my previous address.Seems couple of hackers got access to some infos .They say financial institute who want help me to pay my dues!!!This is going too far too annoying .the phone no is 248-605-0963.

This automated message left on my machine, uses my husband's name. They identified themselves as Ms. Sands at Encore Receivable Management. The automated messenger indicated that this call was to collect a debt and that any information would be used for that purpose. We should contact them in regard to an important business matter.

They call my cell phone and home phone. Never a message, just daily bothersome calls. From what I read here and thier own website, they collect old debts. Three cheers for caller ID... I don't answer any call if I don't know the caller or number!

These people have called at all hours of the day and night, seven days a week  and their recording fills up my voice mail constantly.  I finally blocked their number.  From what one person I spoke to told me, the calls come from a boiler room in the Philippines, which might explain the hours.

Every hour, on the half hour.  No message.  Can't turn the ringer off because wife is job hunting.  Most irritating thing since political propaganda calls started couple years ago.

Thank you all for checking up on this. I've been getting at least 5 calls a day from this number since getting Caller ID, and have also been messaged by one "Mr. Reyes" every day for several months beforehand.

Caller ID - "MICHIGAN CALL", 248-605-0973. I get 4 or 5 calls every day including Sunday, at all hours of the day. I am on the "no-call" list also. If anyone figures out how to stop them from calling please share it.

I receive 15-20 calls a day from this number to my cell.  Same messages left as stated on previous reports.  It is really starting to p me off.  I am even on the no call list!

They go by so many names.

Here's some guys I've spoke to before, they are legitimate debt collectors, however they are guilty of using the strong-arm tactics we've most likely all seen before.

The call with some personal information (as they have your credit report) and of course they want more.

My big problem with these guys is they won't take no for an answer. So here's the initial info:

Upon the second call today (which I missed) I returned the call and requested a supervisor. They gave me an Account Manager: Dennis Pizza

This is a scam.  They're AACC - Asset Acceptance.  They are an agency that buys old, uncollectable debts from other companies and tries to collect on them after the statute of limitations has run out.  They have no LEGAL right to collect the debt and what they do is harrassment.  They're calling for my mother and I have told them numerous times to take my number out of their directory.
