250-352-9679 called my house a few times since last summer. Each time I hung up as soon as they said "this is YOUR credit card company and it's your last chance to lower your interest rate ...blablabla" and asking to press a number ...which sounded very suspicious to me lol ....First of all if they know who your credit card company, they will announce the company and they never ask you to PRESS any numbers during that call. Duh.
One evening during supper, the same call came through so my husband picked up the phone and layed it on the table without hanging up. We ate supper and then we hung up without a word. lol

We continue getting calls from same number. Depending on my mood, I tell the where to go! lol and hang up.

We are on the national no call list as well.
It seems we are only supposed to get telemarketing calls only from companies we deal with. We need to ask to be removed from those new lists. So never agree to getting marketing info or updates by leaving your number email address.

I'm not sure hot to get rid of this caller ... removing myself from the National list won't help in this case. Too late. But staying on that list is still better than removing yourself.
Try both options. You can always add your number again if you wish.

Maple Accounting, aka Western GPS, aka Lindquist Accounting, aka RS Financial Services (the newest name) are located in Arizona, USA.  I fell for their tactics and have been fighting since August to get my money back.  Visa will not help in this situation even though this was a scam.  Whatever happened to not paying unwarranted charges on their customer's behalf.  Stupid me in believe honesty is the best policy.  I contacted them the day of the transaction, was assured by them that it would be reversed and ended up then reversing the credit and repaying the scammers.  I am still trying to get it back.

Today Nov 27 2012, I just got a recorded call from 250-352-9679 saying that it's my last chance to lower my credit card interest rate and to stay on the line as someone wants to talk to me! I hung up as there was no mention of any bank name and it sounded suspicious! I just wished I stayed on the line and told that person off! Be very careful! I hope these criminals get cought one day!

recorded message telling me that it was a final notice on my credit card - Visa, Mastercard or American express or some one else ? I don't know

The funny parts in that are:

1. My phone blocks calls I tell it to.

2. My only Visa card is actually an ATM card and nothing more.

You have to call the DNCL at 1-866-580-3625 and have them manually remove any, and all, numbers you registered. They'll yap at you with "Do you really want more telemarketers calling you?" I told them I didn't, and that's why I wanted to remove my numbers. I got more telemarketers AFTER I registered my numbers.

I just kept one on the line for 25 minutes. I was simply asking for a verification on who they are and how i know they are real. Would never tell me, I got a company and a number 1800 317 8818 lalazor credit servicing.

Total Scam.

Never give anyone personal or financial information over the phone unless YOU contacted them and did  your due dilligence to be certain you are connected to the right party.

Call your local MP and voice your concerns as these skells prey upon the elderly, innocent and ignorant.

Call your phone company to complain.  Time is money and keeping a CSR on the line while you complain costs the phone company money.  Maybe they will take action when enough calls hit their bottom line.

Call the local authoriteis as this is fraud.

Didn't answer call, no message left by caller.  I decided to call back...message "the number you have dialed is not in service."

pure harrassement....they said this is a final  notice regarding my credit....I do not owe anyone any money! I pay cash only. This is just upsetting as I have family who live out of town and this rings the same as a long distant caller. I am a senior and have mobility problems. Also when I called this number back it was out of order.

How do I stop this harrassement!?

I received this call today same crap and have decided to harass them back by speaking another language one that they do not understand.  These are South Asians (Indians) who are calling.  One of them was flirting with me, which confirms that they are fraudulent company out to get the innocent.  I am also going to call the anti fraud line and pass this number on.  Called my phone company to find out how to get rid of these calls, there is a feature that allows you to block approx. 11 lines.  Lets see what happens.

Do not call list is only applicable to companies in Canada; these calls originate in foreign countries. Simply don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number (if its someone you DO know, they'll leave a message).

This number is also associated to 250-453-2289. The "company" in question is using an auto-dialer, and is in contravention of a number of Canadian laws.

1) They are in direct contravention of the CRTC do not call registry (DNCL).
2) The auto-dialer frequently hangs up or fails to connect.
3) They are spoofing the caller id, as these numbers are not in service.

I have spent 6 hours total chasing this down. My research indicates that this is a phishing scam, and they are looking to commit credit card fraud by obtaining valid credit card information. The best possible courses of action are as follows:

1) If they call and you get the automated message, press 1 to speak to an operator (per the instructions). Play along, give them false information and a fake credit card number and expiry date (make something up). Depending on their level of sophistication, this may go undetected by them, and after a number of attempts by this "company" to process faulty information, it will draw attention to them. At worst, it will frustrate them, and they may remove your number from the auto-dialer rotation.

2) YOU MUST report this to the CRTC at 1-866-580-3625 and the RCMP Anti-Fraud line at 1-888-495-8501. The only way to have this fully addressed is to flood the CRTC and RCMP anti-fraud unit with a complaint for each and every call you get from this number. Realize that as inept as the government is, the squeaky wheel always gets the grease. The more time and energy bureaucrats have to spend recording complaints about a particular telemarketer, the more likely it is that they will do something about it. It is also important to note that for each transgression of the DNCL the telemarketer is subject to a fine of $2,000. Consider each of your complaints as a future deposit in your nation's treasury.

Scam. I led him on for a bit tried to get a call back number he just kept going on about lowering my master card rate. Hung up and checked here. Love this site.

Got call from this number a couple of times today.  Got calls from them before then they stopped.  Guess they're trying again.  We won't bite.

Someone say the caller claim to be from "Maple Accounting" and Head Office located in Texas. As far as I know, there is no "Maple Accounting with Head Office in Texas".
But in T.O. there is a "Maple Accounting" with 2 different address.
