I got the same call and I verified with the card company to be told that my interest had not been lowered and that it was a fraud.

I just read a response from someone about why are politicians doing anything about this BS and that's because it's not happening to them and like someone else said the CRTC is part of the problem. They are a useless organization who gets paid by these people to give out our numbers even when on the DNC list. My suggestion, get as many politicians phone numbers be it there office or better their home number if possible and if you get one of these idiots on the line pretend you don't need anything but you know someone who may be interested and give them the politicians numbers. Go one step further and get the number to you local police department and give them that number too. My guess is once the police and politicians start getting harassed by these scum someone will be done immediately I guarantee it. It can't make things worse for us Joe public but at least we can pass on the frustration we all feel to those who can truly stop it.

I received several calls from this number and they never left a message. When called back the people are very arrogant and have no training and are not disclosing their company's name. It seems it is from marketing companies

Credit Card Fraud: They claimed to represent all major credit cards and wanted my Dad's credit card info, dont give them anything.

Its exchange 453 is managed by TELUS.
The number is currently on switch number ASCFBC01RS1.

Phoned, I answered. No Reply just silence. They then hung up. Probably crdit card scam.

The voice says it is the second and final notice for reducing the credit card interest.
No identification no bank name.

First this is a fraud, so they, being criminals, do NOT care about the DNC list or any other list.
They are NOT calling from BC - they spoof the number. At various times they have called using area codes from BC, ONT, QUE and several US states.
They change their calling number almost daily to making blocking their calling number pointless.
This scam has being going on for YEARS.
They are often based off shore, using boiler room call centres in India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc.
They have been investigated and, in some cases, charged and fined by law enforcement in various jurisdictions.
They continue as the fines are NOT a deterrent compared to the amount they can steal from you.
They are robo calls - you can see from the 22 pages of comments here - they make thousands of calls from Alberta to the Maritimes. Then they use a new number and just start over.

Since they change the numbers regularly, blocking a number is pointless. Robo calls usually disconnect after 3 rings if no one answers. As I have friends in some of the spoofed area codes, I just let the phone ring 3 times and usually it will disconnect. They used have have it ring until an answer machine picked up - I guess this is not time effective since they could use the extra ring time to call more numbers. Also, if they leave a msg., next time they ring you will know NOT to answer.

this is a trap number they try to get your visa or master card number .they do like if this is your last chance to pay your account......I am from usa and the fbi are currently tracking this criminal group and be sure they will pay for all the fraud they do :-)
If this number calls you take the time to talk whit them and whit your cell phone call the police and ask them to track the number while you talk to the fake agent... and dont forget dont give any personnal informations. if you wanna make this persons lose their time give them fake infos :-)

I got a call from this number at 2am and again at noon today. No voice. I'm so angry! I wish they would say something so that I can at least take myself off the list! In my experience, they often use computers to call 10 numbers and talk to the one that pick up first. At this rate, I won't be able to sleep!!!

Go for it won't do you any good they will just hang up and your farting is for nothing same with playing a loud horn. They expect it and they will call you back another day with one of the same 4 scams over and over and over for ever. Won't do any good to report the number it is out of service. If you don't recognize the number hang up. take your name of the DNCR. That is where they get active numbers from. Often they will even appear as organizations exempt from DNCR regulations  such as charities or political polls or banks. then it turns out you won a free cruise but they need your credit card for enormous fees etc. Never give information over the phone to anybody for anything. If you want to give them information tell them to call you back at another number and give them the number of your Member of Parliament or the Fraud Squad

Robo calls are illegal unless you have given written permission from a company you do business with. This is a robo call and therefore illegal. So no not anyone can call you whenever they wish. FALSE. Telemarketers cannot pay a fee to get around the DNCR. These people are fraudsters not telemarketers. This scam is so old it has worn out the telephone lines I'm surprised anyone still falls for it. By the way they get your number from the DNCR. They don't care if you report them the number is spoofed, besides they are calling from the US.They have been fined. The CRTC knows who they are. The FTC knows who they are, but they contribute more in campaign contributions to congressmen and senators then they get in fines. Just received a call from this "Card services" company and of course to be sure who I was speaking with I pressed "1" to find out more information. I was connected to a "representative" who informed me that it was for 'Visa/Mastercard' no specific company and that they weren't trying to sell me a credit card. This is not even what I had asked and when I asked politely to be removed from the phone list the person abruptly ended the call. The number is not in service when you try to call back.

First of all, don't call my house and disrupt me if you can't even finish your conversation. Secondly, seems a little sketch that the sound as if they're contacting us from a cell phone as the phone service was poor.

when you call the number back you dont get a error because the numbers good.when you call this number you get three rings then error [answering machine] when the error is a genuine one you get no rings you get three beeps ascending.the number is good.
