She claims that she is on behalf of a customer to check my number.

My long distance phone showed a charge as if the call originated  from 251-368-8600 to a phone number in India. I have no idea who or where the call was made by.  I called my long distance carrier Startec and they refused to give credit. I am dropping them as my long distance carrier.
