Haven't seen this number before, and won't see, because it's now blocked.  Could be the same I-D-10-T, who is using several other "ALERT" numbers.  The "ALERT" has showed up (on the Caller ID) recently with different numbers----all now blocked.

Just got a call from this number which said it came from Auburn WA and I don't answer my phone anymore when I don't know who's calling.  Also have turned off my answering machine,  thank God for caller ID that shows up on my TV screen.  I have started a list of calls I get and my number is up to 60 now of people calling who I don't know. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and it's a joke.  So, my advice is NOT ANSWER YOUR PHONE, so you don't have to deal with idiot scammers.

4/25 17:48 PDT  Just tried me, but only rang once, so figured it was probably robotic call since my blocker doesn't show my blacklisting.  After reading previous reports, glad call didn't go thru.  Already have a medical alert system and pretty fed up with being targeted.  ID reads ALERT.  What's scary is that my elderly (94) mother has a security system and just a couple of days ago they called because her alarm was going off and they couldn't get through to her because phone line was busy and I couldn't for the same reason.

>>  I have my cell & land line on the do not call list and it is worthless, <<

Incorrect.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

the calls actually DO originate overseas.  I have my cell & land line on the do not call list and it is worthless, as I found out when I filed a complaint.  At the moment, all the states attorney's general are in a lawsuit with these off shore scammers (at least that's what they told me).  For my cell phone, I had to download an app called "Phone Warrior" (I have a Droid) and it's awesome.  I've built a list with that as well.  Call is cut off before phone can even ring, but I have quite a list of mumbers

If someone knows the location or identity of any of these spoofers please put it on this site. Im very unstable mentally and have the urge to shoot these people if i can find them. It will be mass murder and will make the news and maybe then our government will crack down on these people. I pump bullets into their bodies and smash their faces in so they cant have an open casket.

If you are answering these idiot scammer's phone calls you are part of the problem by enabling them to continue to do their dirty work in hopes of making a score on some unsuspecting senior citizen.  These crooks have called our house for months; now using variations of the same phone number and changing only one digit.  The research says they are located in the cities of Kent or Auburn which is in Washington State in the greater Seattle metro area.  However, due to these criminals "spoofing" practices they could be calling from Bombay, India for all I know.  The only way to slow them down (you'll never put a stop to them) is to do the following: 1. Get caller ID on your phone and do not answer out-of-area calls that say "Alert, Member Update, Member Alert, etc." 2. Get an answering machine.  If some one you know calls and you don't pick up the phone most like they will leave a message. 3. And most importantly, get a call blocker device of some sort added to your phone line and start "blacklisting" phone numbers and even whole area codes.  Our phone blocker can block 1,500 individual numbers and a whole bunch of area codes that these crooks are using.  With our call blocker the phone only rings once, a partial ring and the call blocker cuts off the call thus indicating to us that another scammer has bit the dust.  I have a spreadsheet and have kept track of the times, dates, numbers and caller ID's of over 129 calls in the past year and am just waiting for the moment when I waltz into my Congressman's office and lay the list down on their desk and ask them to do something useful for the American public for a change and put a stop to these harrassing calls.  Since after we have started blocking these calls their continued calling is pure harrassment, plain and simple and they should be tried and convicted for such crimes; especially since they pick on senior citizens like us.

Just pick up the phone and hang up when you get calls from numbers you don't recognize.  You won't get annoying voice mails and the company will still pay for the call (albeit a small amount).

The ONLY purpose in the medic alert for seniors scammer's calls to us, is to get our credit card numbers, so they can cheat us!

This same number 253-245-2434 showing on my caller id as Alert, has been calling us relentlessly. When I pick up, there is a pause then a recorded message starts playing. No human to scream on the line so I can scream "stop calling me!!!". I contacted the FCC as I am on their Do Not Call Registry" and they advised me to keep track via my caller ID when and at what time they call. Then to go to the FCC online complaint form and file a complaint. Not sure if they actually go after these companies. They get billions of complaints. These places are scams. I don't understand why they can't be closed down and the owners put in federal prison.
