I have received an email from Micheal Scott and he used email address:  Micheal Scott <mikecott2@gmail.com> said he lives in Charleston, South Carolina as a petroleum engineer. His ph no. + 1 803 380 8173. He told me he is a widower and his wife passed away because in the tragic car accident in Texas and he has a daughter, 18 years old.
He wrote similar stories to you all, I was wonder where he got my email address from.

Glad I have checked the name and found here he is a scammer and I haven't response anything to this person.

Yes he was using gay chatt line and had even created a gay profile under the name of James Gladman, be on the look out don't be fooled I caught on and soon ad he called and spoke to me on person.

He is also on the gay profiles as well...trying to scam men here in Canada. He has even called and chatted...let's hope he gets caught.

Yeah I caught onto his a** in about a week, I feel so stupid for falling for his line.  I caught him because he sent a "love" letter to me and one of the lines was underlined so I clicked on it and it took me to a link of love letters and it was copied word for word.  To catch him at his own game I emailed him and said I had never read a more beautiful love letter I am speechless.  He texted me and said true words coming from an honest man, HA the jig is up a**hole.  Then I found all these wonderful posts about this jerk and printed them off, scanned them and sent them in an email attachment to him with the subject line.  For you to enjoy.  LOL I texted him and said hey check your email I just sent you something and I really hope you enjoy it.  Well in about 2 minutes I got a text back from him saying quote "I have no idea of what you talking about and I think its a consicidence (he can't spell either) because am not the only man in the states by name Michale Moore.  You thought about your intelligence and I believe you have made up your mind but this is a foe search and baseless Haven't being to Africa.  I said oh so more than one person in San Francisco has the name Michael Moore with the same email address and phone number how odd!!!  I said you picked the wrong lady j*** off and I'm onto you and if you push me it's going to be trouble for you!
Haven't heard from him since and this was yesterday.  BEWARE LADIES

I too encountered this Michael Moore at the same phone number and email and through Match.com.  Yes he told me all the information you posted.  I found him out in less than five days.  There were too many red flags.  Sorry to hear about your money lost.  He did not get that far with me.

I just signed up for Match.com yesterday and guess what; Michael Moore using MichaelMoore1959@netzero.net email address.  I thought that this guys first email to me was to good to be true, so I went looking too.  Not sure how to stop this guy.  I now want to reply and ask him for money. Yeah!

Please go to IC3.gov and file a report, The more of us women who do this the better.  The higher the number of report, number of scams, the higher the amount of money stolen the better. the FBI told me the higher this all  goes, the greater the chance they will take the case.  Keep your receipts and back up any texts, print it out and record any voice conversations.  it can all help them get this scammer.  He is still trying to get me for more.  I am now playing my game to keep him talking to help them catch him.

Ask everyone who has been contacted by this man to file a report on ic3.gov.  It goes to the FBI. I was told by them that the more people that file a report here the better and more likely they will be to take the case and try to catch his lying butt.

He got me for 134K before I caught on.  All the stories and read here are all similar to what he pulled on me.  I am actually still talking to him.  For one reason only.  When they decide to take the case they can trace my phone and get his location.  as much as it turns my stomach to hear his voice or even read a text, I am playing my own game now to keep him talking to me.  as long as he thinks there is a chance of getting more money, he keeps talking.

He has threatened me and called me nasty names, he even tried to tell me what to do.  I stand up to him now and then I get some peace and quiet for a couple days before he starts to harass me again.

So please, get everyone to file on ic3.gov

One of these days, he will be caught.  I have to believe that.  Isn't it interesting that "big arrests" make the Washington Post, but victims - whose dollar losses probably equal those that make the headlines - don't seem to get any attention.

That being stated, report it non-the-less.  Maybe, just maybe, someone at the FBI or local departments will actually take our losses seriously.

I have reported this Michael Scott to the FBI cyber crime unit to no avail.  Also, have reported Michael Scott to the Palm Beach County (FL) Sheriff's Office - again, to no avail.

May 7, 2013......Well, I hate to admit it, but I just got taken in by Michael Jack Moore who is the same Michael Moore from San Francisco, that you are talking about.  Luckily, I only got taken in by all the romantic sweet talk....boy are they ever trained.  The phone number he has been calling me from is also the 415-766-7216.  I met him on Match.com.  We have talked on the phone and through personal email for 3 days.  The email address he has been using is MichaelMoore1959@netzero.net.  He alleged to be half French and half English and he gave me a home address of 2604 10th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94116.  However, after trying to no avail to find him anywhere on the internet and after going on all the map sites and not finding that address, I called two real estate agents in that same area and they confirmed that there was no such address.  He also said he had two daughters, ages 19 and 21, named Cantara and Amanda, both in bording school in San Francisco.  He gave me this sob story about being divorced from his wife, Cecelia, who had cheated on him and left him and is back in England and is now married to the man she cheated with...an old boyfriend of hers.  Well, I fell for it hook, line and sinker, but still had so many red flags blowing.  He said he was an independent General Sub Contractor building roads and bridges and graduated from Golden Gate University.  I first met him Sunday night.  He said he had a meeting Monday with the company he does lots of jobs for and was going to be bidding on a job that he hoped he would get.  It was only suppose to last a month and then he was going to be retiring.  He played the part of being in the meeting yesterday and then again today.  He was so excited to tell me he won the bid but had to fly to the country where the job was located....building a road from a village to a minning sector in Lome Togo, West Africa.  Then he leaves the so called meeting today and starts calling me here and there and the last call he said he was in the bank having his money transferred onto his ATM and credit card to take with him to Africa.  He said he was so exhausted and needed me to go buy him a particular IPhone because the IPone he has been using will not work in Africa.  Now, I live two hours from San Francisco, so I say, why do I need to go buy you a cell phone....what do you want me to do with it, play with it.  He then changes his total tone with me demanding that I just go buy the phone and he will then tell me how to get it to him.  Now my red flags were going off big time.  I said, no I am not going to buy you a IPhone cause I don't have the extra money to do that.  He then got belligerant and started berating me for not doing what he asked and for claiming I didn't have the money and then he hangs up on me.  He said he would pay me back.  He then emails me and begins again on the berating and tells me to just forget it.  I email him back saying, "How dare you try to berate me for not having money.  Now you have over-stepped your boundaries.  You just blew your cover.  Thanks for the ride."  He writes back saying, "You are so stupid Tina..dont f****n pissed me off...what boundaries are you talking about? look money is not everything and you f****n know what you are saying its a lie..i swear you would never get any honest man like me and you would die living every assets on earth without enjoying life."  I now knew he was a fake.  So, I write back to him saying, "Boy who ever tarught you how to scam women, is good.  You almost had me, but thank God I had some sense.  I should have listened to my common sense when it was shouting at me yesterday.  That Michael had me hook, line and sinker.  You can throw the fish back now, cause there ain't no more bait on the line."  The last response I got from him was, "Scam? you are so stupid....what kind of embarrassment is that? Hey drive down to San Francisco and come see me you bi***..am a wealthy man i don't want a dine from you..at your age if i may ask why are you being so greedy on money? you have some few more months to die bi***..you don't call me a scam ever again in your life and you would never get any handsome man like me..die fast and give your money to the government..common phone you cant buy it..."  He then starts calling.  I pick up the phone and I start to laugh in his face telling him, GOT YA.....he hangs up on me.

I hope this is the end of the story and thank God I am not out any money like some of the other victims.  I have several photos of him, his daughters, his two yellow Labs, pictures of him holding his friends daughter, pictures of him celebrating with the company folks because he got the contract, plus his passport and four pages of his contract.  All of it I have no doubt is fake.  His passport looks forged, his daughters look nothing like him and in all the many many conversations with him on his phone at home, I never heard a dog.  All of it was BS.  This is the first post I found with the exact same name he used and the same phone number.  Thank you for the confirmation that my good sense had told me to be true.  I will be calling Match.com in the morning.  At least I get to have a good nights sleep tonight.

I have reported Michael Scott to the cyber crime unit of the FBI and local departments in Palm Beach County, Florida.

He is also using the name Michael Moore.  He has scammed my sister-in-law out of $110k+.  The phone number he is using with her is the 415-766-7216 and he is saying he is stuck in Togo, blah blah blah.  Claims he has two daughters and lives in San Francisco.  I have seen his Facebook pages under Michael Scott and James Harrison.  When she told him she would not and could not send him any more money he not only became verbally abusive but then he had the nerve to "hunt you down" and make her pay for what she did or hurt her or something like that.  I don't remember exactly but the hunt her down part really has sent me on a vindictive mission.  Any info on who you have contacted, if you are in the San Francisco or surrounding area would be great.  I would like her to have as much information and documentation as she can when she goes to the Antioch PD and whoever else she needs to go to.

All who have been scammed by one Michael Scott - there is a new twist to the horror.  I was contacted by a James D. Faulkner - via text - who claims to be a federal agent undercover trying to recover "our money".  This is another SCAM!!!

I did this - made sure that my address wasn't visible.

Then Mr. Faulkner sends a story about how they are closing in, but needs an affidavit for Michael Scott's arrest - interestingly, the form requires all sorts of personal information to be disclosed by you with a "retainer" fee for the attorney - that will only be paid if money is recovered.  The rest of the money recovered will be returned to the original sender (that would be us)  Red FLAG!  Then Mr. Faulkner sends a "ID" to try to prove who he is.

I turn all of this over to my local Sheriff's Office - they confirmed it is yet another SCAM.

Omg.....ladies....I was taken by this jerk as well for over 5k.  He told me this exact same line....he then started sent me stuff bought with stolen credit cards...I would give anything to find him.  I filled police reports with the State, county and local police.   Reported him to the FBI, filed complaints with Western Union, postal service.  What goes around comes around...the only good thing is I don't trust anyone any more...good luck

Met this man as alias Jack Anthony at the beginning of the year 2013-strong accent either German or French.  Match.com for I live in a larger metro city, this is where he preys and maybe craigslist.  He never uses his real pictures always some young guy that is well lets say super sexy.  He says he has two girls away on holiday or they don't live with him and he has a dog and an ex wife, but never tells what happened in his previous marriage.  He will send pictures of this stuff probably fake pictures like of contracts kids and houses and cars and places he says he has tarveled.  He wants you to tell him all about your life but never says much other than how stressed he is in business and needs a vacation and will even offer to take you on one. Said he is a multi millionaire financier and runs a construction company and soon will be selling it once a multi million deal goes thru.  He says he will buy you anything luxurious like a yacht or a house.  he wants me to send him money...he tries his best to find out where you live and what money you have or could get for him...he even goes to the extent of you trying to take loans out for him with millions of excuses why he can't take out a loan in his name. when you question the valdiity he carefully turns it on you and acts like you are the one who needs help.  He sings, tells jokes, makes outlandish promises.  I believed him now I am broke, heartbreaks, shut out, and depressed.  This jerk needs to be brought to justice. Ladies if it is too good to be true it is.  Sad to say I fell for him so quickly and he told me he loved me and values me as he learned through Jesus.  What a crook.

Hi ladies.  I just got a call from him.  The number he used was786 471-2941. The other number was 415 766-7216I met him on Match.com.  He told me he was James Harrison and was in the mist of selling a 5 million dollar business.  He also has 2 daughters.  From the first time, he was calling me "baby" and "you are the one".  He also just wanted every communication in an email.  He stated he was French born but came to the states as an older teen.  His accent was more African than French.  He also didn't know French.  His pictures were of him fishing wearing Oklahoma University shirts.  When I asked him about it, he changed the subject........Don't be fooled, he is a con man.

James Harrison is the name he is using with me as well.  What a jerk!

Yes, He found me on Match.com.  He goes by the name of James Harrison and has a 5 million dollar company that he is currently selling to retire.  His number is 415 766-7216.  He has a strong accent which sounds African but claims to be French.  Born and Raised in France is what he said but yet his profile on Match, he only speaks English.  Be very careful.  My gut told me to research him so I did.  His pictures are wonderful.  His phone reception is quite bad though.

Oh dear - File it with the FBI, please.  Whatever you have lost plus all the aliases I found on this site.  I have also filed with local police and sheriffs office.  I know I will never recover my money, but at least I did something to try to stop it and try to gain my dignity back.

I just got scammed by the same man under the name of James now and phone number 4157667216 also just getting his contract in Africa. What a joke. Thank God it didn't go further.

He is still going under Michael Scott, too.  Just hung up on him.  Told him I had read all about him on this site.  Says that everyone has the wrong person - told him - hummm, the stories were all the same.  Phone, Togo, Citibank, etc.  BTW - now he has two daughters!

Oh my God.  I fell for this scam to the tune of 21K from my 401k.  

I guess I was easy prey because I had lived in a third world country for eight years and all his stories seemed so plausible.  Michael Scott even sent me a copy of the "contract" that he had as a sub-contractor as JJC Construction to build the road in Togo.  I still have a copy of it in my emails that have been sent back and forth.

Interestingly, some of the phone calls do look like they are coming from Togo and money that I wired went to Togo.  So, I suppose the FBI is the next step for a fraud investigation?  Would that be correct?
