repeated calls that begin with a recorded message to "lower credit card interest rates"
| Different every time 2011-11-08 21:43:29 Unknown |
I get these calls once a day, they don't stop. Instead of getting angry waste their time. Go to http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/advanced.php to get a fake name and CC # (it will validate in their systems), go to https://origin.bankrate.com/calculators/manag ... calculator.aspx to get a minimum payment amount (they always ask). You can tie them up for 5 minutes or more if you try, if you sometimes they'll even argue that they are not a scam which can get amusing. Do make it clear at the end of each call what you are doing.
Just remember that they have no idea who you really are, I am in no debt nor is anyone in my household and they "see" that I have over $5,000 in debt on at least one of my cards. Furthermore they don't even know my phone number or name, half the time they give me a wrong phone number and I'll say its all good, I give them a fake name from the generator and they ask no questions about it. They are a scam operation and they only appear smart if you don't look closely.

Keep getting unwanted calls to lower interest rate. They tell me since they are not selling anything that they are not covered under the do not call list. How can i get this to stop?

They call me every few days from this number....yesterday I answered and they told me someone had used my Master Card (and I don't have one) and charged several thou on it. After questioning they hung up on me.

Repeated calls to lower our interest rates. We don't have any credit cards. When I hit #1 to speak with someone to explain she hung up on me while I was still talking.

The call was about lowering my interest rates. He even gave me a name and # to call him back. I tried to call and got a fax #. The # was 866-456-5689. This scares me because he new who I was and said I could get a lifetime reduction in the interest rate I was paying and that I was protected by the FDIC.

Screaming at them does no good. It only raises your blood pressure. These people are professional a***oles. They don't mind annoying you. They even think it's funny.
If you must get back at them, then politely ask to speak to a representative, then put down your phone without hanging up and leave them hanging. That wastes their time, increases their labor costs, and makes their scam less profitable.

I have been getting messages on my answering machine for ages from this phone number ... 253-264-8528 and they always leave the message about lowering my credit card interest rates. As a rule, I never answer these calls when I hear them play over my answering machine, as I always screen calls from telemarketers via my answering machine. But today I figured I'd answer it to tell them to put me on their do not call list.
I pressed one and was connected to a live person. He didn't speak at first as if waiting for me to say something first. So, I asked him where he was calling from and he asked ..."is this Mrs. XXXXX (addressing me by name) ...so I said to him "Credit Card sevices ...that sounds too vague. Who is this calling and what are you calling about?" Sensing my suspicion and apprehension over confirming my name, he simply said "this is a scam call" and then he hung up!!!!
Beware.

This "Spoofed" number, fake name and many other numbers are being used by "Debt Collectors." Prime examples are: CRSI out of California, Complete Credit Solutions out of Texas and Progressive Financial Services out of Tennessee. They are attempting to gather information to create an account with someone by getting a credit card number or account number. These particular places have already drained many peoples bank accounts.

I got a call to lower my credit card interest rate. "Michael" said that as part of Obama's stimulus package he could lower my Visa or MasterCard interest rate to zero. He knew my name. When I questioned him about who he was working for and how he got my information, he hung up. My Visa card number was recently compromised and Visa issued new cards to me. Someone had tried to use the old number but Visa was suspicious of the charges and declined them. I'm wondering if Michael was part of a scam using my old card number. Beware of Michael and Obama's stimulus!

Why isn't the Do Not call registry doing anything about these people !!! I keep reporting them and keep getting calls. These type of calls are getting more and more frequent 5 or 6 every week ...the "do not call " is not working !!!

I get the same call on an average of about 4x a week. It is a credit card servicethat coinvinces people they can lower your interest rates. Its "bs" . When you press "2" to be removed its a fake removal system. It actually confirms that your number exists. When you press "1" to try to talk to somebody they hang up when you explain to them to kindly remove your number. PLEASE everybody report it to www. donotcall.gov This is the only way of having them found and to be fined heavily for calling people on a do not call list. Until then, they will continue to call.
Note: Good satisfaction is......press "1" for human body and when they answer.......Find something really loud and press it inot the receiver. Deaf ears will stop preying on us poor soles.

You can't do anything except file a complaint on www.donotcall.gov. It only takes a minute. It won't stop the calls, but I'm sure if they get enough complaints, they might track down the company. I just got called ("Card Services") and pressed 1. When I told them to remove me from their list, they simply hung up. I've also tried using the option on the recorded message to be removed from their list, but it won't work. I just don't understand the economics of their repeatedly calling the same person when they already know the person is not interested - do they think they'll wear them down and they'll give in?

I keep getting phone calls from them, so this time I pressed 1 to talk to someone to tell them to quit calling me. The guy that came on and kept blowing into the phone, and when I told him to stop, he got vulgar talking about smoking weed and it was good s-----. I hung up. What can I do?

I get call from the morons at Cardmember Servivces at least three to four times a week though I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling. I am not sure what the cure is for this but I think have an idea!

I also got an annoying financial solicitation. I pressed "1", stayed on the line, and 20 or 30 long seconds later a deep male voice answered. I asked to please be removed from the call list, and he immediately hung up. According to my caller ID, the call was from Washington.

Automated call with press 1 to speak to representative to lower my interest rates. I pressed one and politely said I didn't need my rates lowered and I had asked before that they not call me and he hung up on me.

I keep getting calls from these people to lower credit card interest rates. I press one like it says to talk to someone. When I ask them to please remove me they hang up. When I try to recall the number on my caller ID the recording says the number I dialed is not in service. This drives me nuts because they just call back again and again.
