I get calls from all over the US, as I am sure you all do too.  I think I am gonna buy a whistle...and as soon as I know it is not a friend calling...pick up the phone and "give-em" an earful...  (Just reread Alaska Bob ..so maybe answering the phone is not a good idea...)  Maybe hook it up to a FAX machine and let it "squeal" at them.  shrug

prerec message says, "Participate in 30 sec survey".. "you will recieve a free 2 day cruise for 2 people to Bahamas. Gratuities and a small port tax will apply. To begin press 1. To decline survey and be removed from our list, press 9."

It's a scam, They use several #s and messages and voices.  2 day cruise would be two days on water.  Then where would you stay?  How can a "gratuity" apply if word means I give freely?
By the time you pay "small tax and gratuity" and stay at their lodging... nothing would be free.. not to mention cost of getting there... to the "so-called PORT!"
FORGET IT!  Report it to authorities.

This is what I use and don't have to pay for majic-jackie or any other fees. Free computer program run off of your modem and will block calls with wildcards # like 253-???-??? or anything else -

I also got a $25 voice modem and it sends back a variety of customized voice messages, as well as auto- zapping unwanted calls.

No - I don't have anything to do with these companies - I'm just annoyed like everyone else- besides - it is free.

This number appeared on my cell phone.  It is unknown to me.

I had put in the caller as unknown, but just rechecked my caller ID & it comes up as PACIFICTEL

this is the 8th such # I've looked up this afternoon. We have AT&Ts uVerse, and when someone calls the # pops up on the tv screen. I usually let it go through to the answering machine, but I think I'm going to set my machine to pick up after 10 rings so I have time to pull up my screaming woman ringtone. Then pick up the phone & have some fun.

Got a call from This # Apr 30. - didn't answer but it seems as tho, it's the same thing as 253-382-9937 - These #s are able to circumvent the official Do Not Call registry by claiming  to be a political survey - these are exempt.
No one - Gov. included, can keep up with the robo call scams - the "Do not call Registry" does work to a degree - I receive far fewer "bogus" calls than friends who are not signed Up - easiest way to deal is ignore and then DELETE!!!

i wish assassins killed them if enough were killed it would no longer be a problem with all the garbage out there killing over nonsense this would be a little sense in an insensible world

keep getting a 2533529904 on my cell they never leave a message mostly mornings. I guess the do not call list does not apply to this number!

You are so right. Do Not Call Registry (I was on it for over 8 years) cannot keep up with the growing number of scam artist as also the government agencies cannot handle them either. Therefore it is up to us to use caller ID...do not answer unknown numbers....if they do not leave a vmail, then make sure to block the number...

I had been recieving calls from Pacifictel. We did not answered the calls. Name and number are in caller ID.

My cell phone (only used for emergency's), rang today 05/03/2012.  I have the "pay-as-u-go" plan on this cell, but it is listed on the TX State and Fed "Do Not Call Lists."  No one has this cell phone number but a few family members.  I don't answer it if I don't recognize the phone number.  I guess T-Mobile is selling my cell phone number because I don't give it out to anyone.  I have a regular land line phone at home!  Makes me want to puke!  I get charged for every call I get.  The call hung up before my recording came on.  I don't give out the number and don't really use it except to have a phone for emergency situations. (Since there are no public pay phone booths anywhere, anymore.)  Have a Blessed Day! :)

I'm not in California, but in New York State.  I would LOVE for there to be a CLASS ACTION SUIT, if we can only find out who they really are!  Hmmm.  You just gave me an idea.  Call4Action.  I might contact them (they are on a local news channel).  This is really pissing me off.

I agree! I have filed several complaint with the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and to no avail. I continue to get calls from the same and other numbers as well.  At one point I emailed them and asked what I action I could expect them to take... still no reply! I think the do not call is intended for those of us who actually sign up for the "service." if you can call it service!

I got a call on 5/1/12 9:29am to my unlisted home #.  I know they use computers for rotation dialing and that happens, BUT I am on the DNC list also, and things slowed alot after that.  No message left, and I didn't answer phone.  No name shown, but # shows on caller ID, listed as Tacoma, VA.  Not sure how they did that one.  I looked at it several times and then today on my phone log, and that is what's listed, VA., not WA. for Washington state.  I know others in area have been getting political survey calls, but this one seems like a scam from the noted entries. I have also received 2 texts in last 2 days on private cell phones from other numbers, about winning Walmart $1000.00 gift card, and to go to the site; www.greatfreegift.com, and that is even more annoying, since I will be charged for texts.

Ever heard of robo-call.  Telemarketers use computers to generate random phone numbers, dial the numbers, then switch to a recorded answer tree.  Best thing to do is turn off the ringer, and ignore calls from unknown numbers.  Do not answer, not even to lift a receiver just to hang up on them.

I'm sadly beginning to believe the "DoNotCall" list is as much sham as the callers. I'm now on my 95th loged call, reported most all of them to the complaint link of the donotcall page.  They keep calling and I've never heard from the folks at that place. It seems to be well known by these callers. They have the gull to say dial 1 or 2, and sometimes 9 to be taken off their call list. I let them know I'm on a do not call list already and they are calling me illegally and I don't need to dial a number to be taken off their list.
