Unwanted Call

I answered "unknown name" because it was my area code (Tacoma) and the no-message
number had appeared on my caller ID at least half a dozen times during the last month
when we weren't home. I listened to a kind of youngish foreign female voice speaking
but couldn't quite make out what it was she was trying to read. My hearing isn't so
good anyway, so I politely asked; "I didn't quite hear you, would you please say that
again?" and she promptly hung up the phone...A legitimate caller would have had some
kind of consideration for a senior with a bit of hearing difficulty. I now believe
that it is definitely a scam. I verified it with a quick google of the number~scamer.

This number was entered with the other active "reject" calls on my ten-dollar 'G.E.
digital messaging machine' (hooked up to my land line). Now it rings twice and stops,
a done deal! I can reject up to 50 phone numbers, but it actually holds 100 caller id
numbers in chronological sequence (so it has been saving my sanity for about 20
years). I have taken matters into my own hands with old technology, and you can too.

So now, all of the programmed reject numbers that are date stamped more than about 45
days earlier can be deleted to make more room for newer "reject" numbers. After 30
days on reject they aren't calling me any more.  I have never had a scam number last
more than about a month after being added to my reject list. These friendly devices
are found at thrift stores nation wide for just a couple of dollars and are well
worth the investment. Again: I use an old G.E. digital messaging machine.

I tried to work with my phone company and it was ludicrous, but I understand it is
profit driven and does not answer to anyone (like most big businesses), not
stockholders or the government or their clients. When I tried to discuss the matter
they said I would have to pay for the services necessary and if i didn't bundle, it
could cost quite a lot (you know the drill) and to read my contract and more was
available on our web site for everyone to read and understand...got it?, good, now
hang up and leave us alone, click.  We are captive consumers at all levels.

Everyone knows the government doesn't care or act to enforce rules governing the do
not call legislation. They would need SERIOUS cooperation from the phone companies
and inevitably hold them ACCOUNTABLE and that just can not happen (heaven forbid-
horrors-accountability-oh NO!). We had high hopes in the beginning of do not call,
but dedicated and confident scumbag scamers have ZERO-REGARD for the laws of this
nation. This country's "rule by (unenforcible) law" continues to be a global
invitation for all the greed-driven criminal minds to get here and use low or high
technology to victimize ANY AND ALL where possible. They prosper on the ruined backs
of innocents- aged and young. They exist to emulate the Bernie Madocs of the world
because they can and this government has selective hearing. To the criminal it means
no enforcement at all even if caught red handed and charged with fraud larceny and ID
theft they won't do anything except clog up the judicial system- few penalties. There
will be NO JUSTICE or recourse for the victims. Ther never is.

Hell, our partisan members of congress can't even come together on a the federal
budget...the b*st%rds control America's purse strings, are making hundreds of
thousands (average is nearly 900.000.00) yearly, but would rather see this country
fail financially than work together to find solutions to budget problems!

Advice: If you find a scamer in your neighborhood, cut his phone lines, put sugar in
his gas tank, learn to use a sling shot and break all his windows out (home and
auto), kill his watch dogs silently with a crossbow, follow them around till they get
to a parking lot away from home and slit all the car tires, anonamously report their
license number and vehicle desicription for wreckless driving and/or suspected drug
dealing/manufacturing (frequent funny chemical smells coming from their home~EPA
violation-investigation?) report them as a possible smuggler or terrorist get them on the do not
fly list with homeland security-really make their TSA day. Annonimous accusations-possible attempted
child abuse (child abuse reports to DSHS). In short, make their lives so visible to
law enforcement,FBI, Federal Marshals, Social Services, Social Security, the insurance
companies (Home,Auto,Life,Business etc.)and their social affiliations
(clubs,churches,fraternal organizations etc) that they will either stop (fat chance)
or move out of the lime light if they haven't been apprehended  and/or deported back to
Croatia or Africa or where ever. Vigilante justice is illegal but can still be justice.

Got more than 15 phone calls from this telemarketer.  After hours searching, I found out who this telemarketer was.  Behind this telemarketer is a security company. The contact person of this company is Molly Robin who has the phone number 949 246 2494. The main number of the security company is 855 877 1565.  I called them already many times and I offered them some woodworking services as I'm a learned Furniture Maker/Restorer Master from Germany.  Everybody should call this company and treat them the same way they are treating the people - calling you on the weekends and all the bad habits a telemarketer does with you. When there would be no companies hiring telemarketers, there would be out of business very quick and I would not be very unhappy.

Got a call from this number, some foreign woman, breathing hard into phone like she was running. Just kept saying hello and something that sounded like English. Not sure what she was selling. Does she really think I'd be interested in ANY thing she has to say or sell??? Weird.

Got another call from this number, ID'ed as "Unknown Name" but with this number, 253-561-7140.  I did not answer, and had even forgotten I had last received a call nearly two months ago...that is, until I saw my previous post here just a few minutes ago.  Rereading my pervious encounter, I think I would have liked to have had some fun again.

Stop the d***hit telemarketer scammers.

Keep getting calls from this number.... most times I don't pick up cuz it's not familiar, but answered the other day, and no one says anything. Does anyone know who this is or what they're trying to accomplish?

calls EVERY night. finally called them back and asked them to take us off the list. we will see.

caller ID displayes unknown name 253-561-7140 .I do not answer and they do not leave a message on machine but call repeatedly. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST but does not seem to help.

I have had numerous calls from this number but have never answered. So I goggled the number and this page came up. Really tired that something can't be done about these people. If this is a number calling hundreds a day, cut it off at the source.

Got a call about 8:30 each night for the past 3 nights.  (I"m sound asleep by then, due to my early shift)  Each time they left a message "hello? Hello? Are you there?" so they are clearly ignoring any initial greeting you may say as our answering message clearly states to leave a msg.
I got around to calling back (based on caller id) and all i got was a recording "Your account has insufficient funds to place this call" <repeat>

I got tired of these scammers calling me so I picked up.  Informed the "security system" company that claimed that they weren't telemarketing until after their survey just so happened to lead you to their company that miraculously had the solution to all of your problems.  This is illegle and they know it.  Everybody that receives a phone call from them needs to report it to the do not call registry and hold these pieces of crap accountable for thier illegle actions.

This number listed on my Caller ID from Auburn, WA, called yesterday and tonight.  This time I answered it and  a guy asked for my husband by name.  I told him he wasn't available, so he asked if I was his wife.  He then said he was from some company but I couldn't understand what he said.  When I asked him to repeat the name, he said he was from First Defense.  Then he hung up.

I receive calls from the 253-561-7140, an average of 5-6 times a week. But, I do not answer it. I do not know the number. It says Unknown Name on the ID caller.

No response. Keeps calling answering machine. No message.

Just received a call from this number at 5:14PM PST; Caller ID displayed "Unknown Name".  Caller identified themselves as a "David Jones" (placing great emphasis on that) with "First Defense Company".  Somehow the guy thought I (as a 40 y.o. male, and most certainly NOT a "high talker", ala "Dan" on Seinfeld) was my elderly mother - the legal homeowner at the landline number he reached.  I played with him a bit and never found out what exactly he was calling in regard to, but could clearly hear sounds of a typical partition-less call center operation in the background.  A quick Google search came up with possible Home Security service connections, though more likely a scam.

This was a phone solicitor called twice.  The second time and after repeated attempts on my part to "politely" end the call from the beginning of the conversation, this individual just kept talking, ignoring me completely!

I finally lost my patience when they asked..."do you remember me calling you before?"  I replied, "Of course!  You're so annoying how could I forget!"  They hung up on me!

I'm glad to be done with it but I am frustrated that the company this person represented has such RUDE and poorly trained employees!

Got a call from this number, that said on the caller ID that it was from Auburn.  They asked for my daughter and if she was the owner of the house.  I said no one was interested and hung up.  I attempted to call the number back and got a busy signal.  Watch out for any scam, because this phone call did not seem leget!!

Told the piece of s*** what a f****ng badass I am and then he started dropping the f bomb. Go back to Armania with yout bs security system or come over ad get hurt bi***. Oh yeah, but learn MY language first.

3 calls in 3 days from this number. When you answer, the person stutters over a script trying to sell who knows what. I interrupt and ask if anyone there speaks English and they immediately hand up. All you who run telemarketing agencies, do yourself a favor and have the prospective caller PRACTICE the script in front of you before releasing them on the phones. Oh, and dont block your number, you LEGITIMATE business might pick up from these efforts. Just another scam caller, trying to get your info instead of working for a living.

Got a call today from a guy at this number. He was reading off a script and couldn't even pronounce the words correctly. Wanted to sell me a home security system. Told him I wasn't interested and hung up before he could say anything else.

Had nothing better to do today so I picked up the phone when this number called.  Nobody on the line, nobody said hello, nobody tried to sell me butt plugs.  Just somebody trying to hang up the phone.  I'm bummed I couldn't mock them or play games with them.  Maybe next time.
