This caller from this contact no. is not known but continues to call every week, when I try to call it back the call cannot be placed because of a missing number

I have been receiving multiple phone calls daily from 253-820-308 with no last digit. I never answer & there is never a message left. I'm sick of it.

I actually *just yesterday* got a computer virus and today received a call from this # .. I answered and the caller *sounded Indian, a woman* simply said *hello*, then giggled and hung up ... fortunately, we know a brilliant computer guy, he spent 4 hours today getting my computer up to snuff and it's running better than ever. Don't know if the call had anything to do with the virus ... but it's a scary world out there ... beware folks!

When you call it back it says verizon wireless and the number has been changed

This morning another call from 253-820-308 ( no 10 digit shows). This time I answer expecting Microsoft. Nope, not a computer problem. It seems I'm interesting in furthering my education and he wanted to know what I would be interested in. I told him I was only interested in them removing my number from their system and not calling me again. He hung up.

I got a call this morning at 4:58 AM!!!!!   253-820-308  .... that's all that shows up on my phone; just the three groups of three digits!  I DON'T ANSWER when I don't know the caller anyway, but I was NOT pleased to be awakened at that hour by some unknown and unwanted call!!  253 code is Tacoma, WA, but after reading other comments, I'm not so sure that's it's a USA number at all!  I'm going to call my phone company to report it and try to have it blocked.

I have two Sony Vaios, so that has nothing to do with HP.  I have never had an HP computer in my life.

I got a call from this number today and he told me my microsoft windows wasn't running correctly, I told him I have a Mac and he asked for the WRONG person I tried to stay on the phone to see what eles he would try to tell me but I got bored and hung up on him.

I've had three calls today from 253-820-308, the last number doesn't show. When I tried to call back adding the '9', I get a Verison recording that says the number has been change or disconnected. I was trying to add it to my block list. Maybe if I actually answer and give him **** they'll quit calling.

I have received these calls from 253-820-3089 that last couple of nights.  Way too late to be calling anyone about enything unless it is an emergency.  Very obnoxius.  Nex time I think I'll play dumb and try to waste their time so they spend less time waking people up and trying to scam them!

Received this bogus call last night at 6:00 pm. Unfortunately, I actually listened to the East Indian female caller for a few minutes. I was moderately interested because I've been having trouble with one of my computers AND I've been trying to track down a friend who was in a hospital in Tacoma, Washington. But then, the caller told me I had to pay for services upfront. That's when my mental alarm bells went off. I hope others out there are less gullible than me.

ID said NODID.  no one answered when i picked up, but i do not wait for robocallers to switch over.

BEWARE Scam call from Oscar with heavy Asian ancient, likely India. Said he was from Microsoft and wanted to know if I was aware that I had been downloading viruses and he was ready to take control of my computer to fix the issues. She call me by name

Just had this phone number call me a little bit ago. He claimed he was from Microsoft and my computer was sending error messages to him and he wanted into the computer. When I explained that my dad works for Microsoft he got a little agitated and began to demand to get into my computer. Then I said I am going to call the police and he hung up.

I did call the non emergency line and the police are looking into this guy. I apparently wasn't the only one who called the police about him.

My mom received a call from "Jimmy" at 253-820-3089 (Tacoma, WA on the caller ID), but she couldn't understand the caller through his Indian accent. She told me about it, and then he called while I was there. She asked me to talk to him.

He told me that my computer was infected with a virus that was transmitting viruses to "Microsoft." I pressed him for which computer it was (I have a laptop that was unplugged), and he asked how many she had. I told him three, and he said he was recieving signals from all three. He asked what I do with my computer, and I asked what business that was of his. He told me I was probably illegally downloading movies and contracted a virus.

I said it was highly unusual to recieve an unsolicited call from Microsoft, given that there about 10,000 viruses out there every year, and calling everyone who contracted one would be insane. He said I couldn't prove that it was an unsolicited call and that viruses on his computer were unsolicited.

When I refused to log on to my computer to follow his instructions, he told me everything on my computer could be wiped out and that I didn't understand the meaning of the word "unsolicited." He gave me the callback number of 1-800-559-9503 so I could learn the meaning of the word, then he hung up on me.

I actually kind of enjoyed making him jump through hoops.

This is the second time I've received a call from this guy. The first time [several weeks ago] he told me he was a technician from Windows and he had received a message that my computer had errors. Then he asked me if my computer was on. I asked him why and he said because he is a technician and he's going to fix it. He asked me again if my computer was on, so I pretended the call got disconnected.

Today I received the call again. The guy was in a very noisy room, no doubt full of other foreigners trying to scam, and he told me basically the same thing. When he asked me if my computer was on, I told him no because I was just about to leave. Then I hung up. Then I Googled the number because my computer actually does have a slight error and I wanted to make sure I didn't hang up on the wrong guy, ha ha! Glad I found this site =) I hope more people find this site and avoid getting scammed.....Once these guys get into your computer [not sure which program they use, maybe LogMeIn or similar], they can see ALL of your files and use your programs.

If they call again, I'm going to press for more information and see what they come up with. [The caller has never been rude to me.]

this number called me today to say that my windows computer was showing mal ware and was infected.  i asked her how she knew this and she told me she was looking at my computer system as she was talking to me.  she asked me to sit at the "windows computer" so she could walk me through.  i asked her to tell me what computer to bew at (we have 2) to which she said the internet windows one.  i told her she would have to tell me which computer she was talking about before i would tell her any more info.  of course she couldn't tell me which computer she was talking about, and i told her i was hanging up.

I just recieved a call. My caller ID said it was from Washington Call with the above number. My husband couldn't understand the person on the other end; so he turned the phone over to me and the caller sounded like a foreigner, he asked if my computer was running and Something about viruses and it was about to crash...I hung up on him... It really frecked me out and I did a search of the ID name and number... So glad I found this site..

Just got a call from an indian sounding man...my computer has 34 viruses and he would like to fix it for me before it crashes...needless to say after his spiel i politely informed him i do not own a computer (i know...but its true) !!!!

Received this call 2 weeks ago but did not pick up. Based on postings here, I filed a complaint with the FTC and the FCC (big help the George Bush flunky at the FCC is), and blocked the number. Received 2 more calls today and call blocker worked just fine. Before retiring, I was an IT Supervisor and IT Manager. I haven't had a virus on my home network in over 15 years. In fact, I help friends clean their computers and protect them.

I just got a call from this number.  He told me his name and before he can say anything else, I asked him if he knew that I'm on the DO NOT CALL Registry.  He ignored me and tried to continue on with his BS.  I interrupted him again and asked him the same question again but only louder.  He got the message this time and apologizied for bothering me.  And I told him not to call this number again.  But, I don't think it's going to do any good.

I get the same call all the time so I finally decided to answer but instead of a normal hello I  answered with  you have call the  international hot line for mental health we have recorded your  phone number and your location and are sending the police and mental health authorities please stay calm and someone will be there shortly. Ah needless to say  they  started yelling NO  NO  and  hung up  it ws so hard not to laugh and  no calls  since . I'm adding this comment  only because my neighbor just got the call and I told them what I had done. :)
