Male voice demanding a call for me, calling by my first name.  I don't recognize the number or the voice but they refuse to tell me who they are.  I ask to be taken off the list.

Called then hung up. Only perverts do this kind of calling. Is there some way of stopping these kinds of calls?

I've recieved several calls from this number. The caller never says anything, just listens to me say hello a few times then hangs up. Last time I stayed on the line and listened to see what I could here in the back ground. Sounded like the person was in a bar.

Duh u idiots, it's the WASHINGTON STATE COUNCIL FIRE FIGHTER Association.  You know the pitch where they say, we'll give you free tickets to a country western concert ( who ever is coming to town that's usually who it is) as long as you donate such and such $ to the fire fighters fund OR let me mail you out the donation slip today.  So when they call ask them how much $ that you donate actually goes towards the firefighters, if they can't answer what percentage or not sure of it, then why bother, all the money is going towards the council that did all the cold calling.

Male voice said, "Can you hear me?"  I said, "Hello."  Male voice repeated, "Can you hear me?"  I said, "Yes."  Then he said, "Is your mother there?"  Then he hung up.

It seems that they have moved their tricks. No caller id anymore so it is hard to know who is calling or what number. I don't know how they get away with it. I just tell them not intrested and hang up. Hopefully they get the message.

Call came through as sri-wscff on the caller ID. If you call this number back you get a bunch of squlch type tones. These people call at least 3 times a week and are rude if you question them for back up information on the charity. Real pain in the a**.

Thanks for sorting though this mystery of who these people "claim" to be.  Calls weekly, mostly from (253), few from (509).  Though I never answer -- I don't have the time.  Hoped Do Not Call List handled these guys, but guess not.  Really does sound like a phone scam.  Think the phone company should be in on this.

Called, no message, called back #, constantly busy

They do not answer there phone but expect you to answer there's.

SRI WSCFF called on 9/14/2007, I am guessing they've called 50+ times this calendar year alone, despite being politely asked to cease contacting me. I did find this website http://www.secstate.wa.gov/charities/search_detail.aspx?charity_id=5149 and have now emailed them and will be mailing a letter requesting they stop contacting. Typically I get the first few words out "Can you please stop calling this number..." before they hang up midsentence. Extraordinarily rude, I'm extremely surprised the WA State firefighters would want anything to do with whomever they're outsourcing these calls to. I will never donate again.

SRI WSCFF called 9-1-2007.  An aggressive woman launched into an unstoppable tirade about all the wonderful service that firefighters give, etc.  I stopped her and asked if she was asking for a donation.  She asked if firefighters weren't worth good money.  I asked again if she wanted a donation for something.  When she said yes, I said "No thank you" and ended the call.

I used to live in Oregon where it is against the law to make unsolicited business calls if my phone number is "marked" by the phone company with such a request.  I moved to Washington three weeks ago, and WHAM!!!  WHAM! WHAM! I have been absolutely bombarded with solicitations and hang-ups.

Calls several times a month, asks for my wife, I say she is not here, he says can you hear me alright, then hangs up, I return call on caller ID, number is 1-253-983-8739 SRI WSCFF, answers after 8 rings with three beeps, pause, 1 beep, nothing, phone automatically hangs up.  Very rude persons.

These people get worse every year. Whoever SRI is, they're doing the firefighters no good at all with their rude, demanding attempts at intimidation. Where does the money really go? I'm glad I haven't contributed in this way in years. Sounds like a scam similar to one we had years ago, here in Seattle, which was discovered later to be financing several individual narcotics habits (while purporting to be a charity.)

I finally got fed up with all of their crap and reported them to the do not call center. This agency is supppose to check into these kind of scams.

SRI WSCFF called 8-2-2007, 2:23 pm, no message - I let all calls go through answer machine, due to phone harrassement on a different issue, but this one was new so I did a search on the Caller ID 'name'.

I asked to be taken off the list, and the reply was "did the firefighters do something wrong?"...
I plan on printing out this blog and sending it to their organization.

We get calls at least twice a week from this number. Tonight was the first time that anyone spoke to me. The caller claimed that he was with the Washington State Fire fighters. Gruff voice, not pleasant, I hung up on him before he could finish his sales pitch. I don't understand with all of these complaints why something can't done about this?

YESTERDAY MY BABYSITTER RECIEVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER 253 983-8739 AT MY HOME ..... SHE TOLD THEM SHE WAS THE BABYSITTER...AND THEY SAID "THATS OKAY...WE TALK TO BABYSITTERS"  THEN THEY ASKED HER AGE...SHE SAID SHE WAS 16...THEY THEN ASKED "DO YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANY CREDIT CARDS?"  SHE SAID NO AND THEY  SAID OK..BYE.  THANK GOD SHE HAD THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THESE KIND OF SLIMEBALLS DO...MY MASTERCARD WAS HERE, SO SHE COULD GO TO THE CORNER STORE FOR MILK....ONE FOR THE BABYSITTER!!!!!!JUST FOUND OUT I CAN GOOGLE A PHONE NUMBER AND GET INFO ON IT ....RIGHT ON...LOVE YOUR SITE...I'LL BE BACK....PEACE

On do not call list. 2-3 calls a week from these "People?" 90% no one on line. Rude and abusive when a anyone actually speaks. Have requested numerous times to remove my number from their list to no avail....

On do not call list but still got a call from this organization.  Left no message.  They call quite often, even after being told NOT to call.

I just received a call from that number too. I said hello a number of times but nothing..no noise, no nothing...so I just hung up.

got a call at 8pm (7/9) very rude people. I'm on the do not call list too and they call every day.

I receive calls almost nightly from this number.  I've answered a couple of times.  Usually I just get background noises.  But once I got a male voice that asked if I could hear him and when I said yes he didn't say anything else but again I could hear background noises.  I don't answer to them any more.  I am also on the do not call list.

I got a call from them last night (7:11pm June 13, '07). Although i answered, they played a msg something like "sorry we missed you; if you want to talk with us call..." then gave a phone with area code 425, I didn't catch the whole number.  Googled the 509 number:  SRI 920 N Argonne Rd Spokane Valley, WA 99212  No website or info. Anyone know them?

Called and said from Washington State Firefighters. I have asked over and over NOT to be called. Very rude people. It's become harassment!

I am on the Do Not Call list and I also tell everyone that calls like this to take me off of their list. I still get calls almost daily from different people.
