i received a call that said "California" on my business phone.  When I called that number on my cellphone, I got a recording saying that the number was a non-working number.  Two seconds later, my cellphone rang and the number that showed up on caller id was 254 734 830639.  The guy asked who I was and why I called him, but I asked him who He was and where he was.  He told me he was in Kenya.  I quickly hung up.  Then I called my cellphone carrier (Verizon) and had the number blocked (for free).
Be careful what calls you take.  People can have any number they want show up on callerID.....
