Feb 6, 2013 Help, pls! I'm being driven CRAZY by these Unsolicited 'robo calls'!! I can't afford any extras on my phone bill (home 'landline' ony), so I can't get specific #s that are bothering me, some as late as 9:30 p.m. I've been on the 'no call list' for yrs.

I have received two calls from this number today. The first one I ignored. The second one I answered. There was no response at all from the caller.

Received a call from these people but I didn't answer it. I have Time Warner so I just added this number to their blocked calls list. They offer to block up to 30 numbers and so far I haven't even heard the phone ring once from spammers who have called previously! Our home phone also blocks up to 20 calls so I'm set for a bit.
1 for me and a big fat 0 for the spammer!! I do not have time to waste chit chatting with these bozos!
Thanks Time Warner!

The issue here is that the Govt doesn't track these people down BUT turns the info ovewr to the states for prosecution. The only problem with that is that the states don't have the money or manpower to chase them and the scammers know this. I got this info after writing the Govt Do not call office asking why we were paying for an agency that accomplished nothing.
It took three letters and the threat of going to the national news agencies to get a reply.
Another waste of the taxpayers money.

I've recieved NUMEROUS calls from this company/phone number in the past months. And like a previous consumer's comment, I too have hit 1 to be removed from their calling list..and I too keep getting these calls. This time I was told the company is located in S. California..and the company name was "First Alert". I was instructed to go to a website (www.csaaul.org) to see how they have a "Five Diamond" rating. On previous calls, the moment I ask "who's calling"... they hung up on me.. with some even laughing or saying "Oh Sh*T" before hanging up. I notified my phone company who tells me that they are using the internet to randomly clone numbers. I called the number back... hit 1... again. I am FED UP!

I recently set up an account with these people. I don't think anything has gone wrong. I was told I needed to give them my checking account number, the routing number, and my online pass code. I was informed that if there were any discrepancies, they'd contact me. Haven't heard back from them yet in 3 weeks, so all must have went well. The first installment was already withrawn from my account. I'm still waiting for the technician to set up the system. They told me at the time that the installation wait was up to 6 weeks because of the work overload.

if the FCC cannot track them down they cannot shut them down. These are all spoofed numbers and most likely throw away cell phones. Just saying

Received a call from this number, let the answering machine pick up but no message was left. Guess it wasn't important.

4 telemarketer calls today. What is going on?
St Paul MN is Sick of Scammers 2012-10-09 22:40:43 Unknown
Got a call from 260-969-9387 on 10-09 12 @456PM. The recording said they will put in a GE security system FREE if the homeowner puts a sign in their front yard press 3 if U want to be taken off their list and press 1 if U want to talk to a representative. So I pressed "1" and was put on hold. (these SCAMMERS are trying to get so glitzy professional like it is sickening). I guy came on the line and said "Hello" and I said "Hi" he asked "R U Interested in a security system". I asked "Is it free with a sign in the front yard then?" And he said "Yes"
Then I gave him the SCAMMER HORN for about 30 seconds. I checked to see if he was still on line and surprise he was still there, so asked him "how he liked the HORN" and blew for another 30 seconds went back and surprise he was still there. So I said "how's the Carribbean cruise AND the credit card scam goin?" Continued blowin the horn for another about 45+ seconds and went back and he was finally gone.
Gotta LUV that SCAMMER HORN.

The scum are slinking out from under their rocks again. This message stated local police recommend security protection and that this "company" will place a small sign in our yard and install a new security system at "no cost" to us. Yeah right. We already have a home security system! 3 big protective dogs! We also have a Panasonic phone with ability to block 20 numbers, unfortunately these idiots keep calling with different numbers several times a day.

Got a call from this number at 9:05PM, FREE security system from GE. I asked if Danny worked for GE, he said "no". When I asked who he worked for, I could hear him talking to a trainer in the background, and shortly after he hung up. I'm on the DNC.

when checking with cell phone, was asked by automatic response did I want to put them on "No call List"!
OhioCop 2012-10-05 20:51:24 Telemarketer
The best way to stop the calls is have your number 'blacklisted'. This can be done either of two ways...
1- Telemarketers (TM) must make a certain number of calls/sales per shift; wasting a telemarketer's time is their ultimate nightmare. When the TM calls, go through the prompts and talk to a human. The first question they will ask is if you own your own home. Tell them "No, but I live with my mom/dad/boyfriend who does." The TM will want to speak to him/her. Tell them that he/she is in the bathroom/getting clothes out of the dryer/food out of the oven, but would be willing to get an alarm system for free. Put the phone down and go about your life, knowing you're getting back at the TM. It's a good probability that they will blacklist your number, so you don't waste their time again. (I've had a TM wait for 21 minutes for "Granny" to come to the phone in her wheelchair! They never called back.)
2- Give the TM a bogus name, and address (empty house/lot). You will be contacted by the alarm company to confirm the appointment. When a salesman can't locate the address, he will call you. Tell him that until his company's TM removes your number, you will be making 'appointments'. Then immediately hang up.
I've used the first 'exercise' several times and have had my number blacklisted by every TM that I've done it to.

They call me all the time, don't identify themselves and hang up when I answer. Now, I don't answer and they hang up on the recorder too. I think if it's important enough to make a phone call, it should be important enough to leave a message on a recorder.
Bly 2012-10-05 17:03:55 Unknown
I recieved the same phone call and asked the guy flat out if this had anything to do with the departmen of homeland security. He said yes, and then stammered a bit, and then hung up. He said the system works similar to onstar, with 2 way communication with the homeowner. What it really is, is a way for them to spy on whoever blindly and illogically purchases these systems by being able to listen to whatever is said in the home, as well as moniter what is going on within the home/apartment. This is just another devious way that the police state is being implemented, and once again being done illegally.

security system telemarketer call. have had them before. I usually just press 1 or whatever to get transferred to a person and leave the phone on speaker until they hang up. The next time they call I will play along and see if I can get someone to come out for a visit. Let's find out who these people are.
