I have maxed out the 12 numbers I can block.
The code I use is *60 Then the number you want blocked. And if you pick up one of these calls just pick up and listen. Do not speak. They need your voice for a machine that records and stores you in special equipment that knows the sound of your voice. I learned that from one that was chatty one day. They have called for me for so long that they now ask for my husband. And i still remain mute when i pi k up the phone.

My phone company is Comcast. I use the *60 Then enter the number I want blocked. I can only block 12. Hope this helps. If not call your phone company and ask them. Mine does not charge. And I need more than 12. Take care and good luck.

This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ?Spoof Number? ? A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ?press a key? to ?opt out?  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ?log? your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

Need to watch out for calls like this.  When the caller asks, "Can you hear me?", they want to record you saying "Yes".  This lets them sell you something or change a utility carrier without telling you.  When you realize what's happening and call to complain, they say they have the tape of the call where you said "yes".  It's pretty slimy if you ask me.

This number has called me 3 times this week. When I say Hello; they hang up. I'm sick of it!!!

Caller ID said Pennsylvania.  I don't know Pennsylvania so I answered but immediately hung up so they could not leave me a voice mail.  If you are a legitimate business use your real name, not a spoofed number or else us old folks will just hang up on you.

The city is Philadelphia. The man on the other end said, "this is Chris, can you hear me?," twice, I didn't answer him, and then he hung up. I only answered this number once before, by accident, and it was Ryan - same result - didn't sound too friendly either. Wish I knew how to block these A-Holes. Call ID said Pennsylvania.  I normally don't answer, but I did today at 4:50 P.M.  A man on the other end said "this is Ryan, can you hear me?" and then hung up.  I'll block this number now.

Caller ID said Pennsylvania.  I don't answer spoofed numbers.  No message left.

Person called just after 8 AM. I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. Apparently the caller didn't realize he was talking to an answering machine. He said, "Hi, this is Nathan, can you hear me clearly?" twice, then hung up.

Next time he gets an airhorn in his ear.

The city is Philadelphia.  The zip is 19140.  The phone carrier is Leap Wireless, Dba Cricket Comm, Inc.  Wish I had a name and address for you but y'all that are more tech savvy than I am should be able to find out this info.

These idiots called today @2:27 pm.  Same as MrBobbb.  Have the number entered on my scammers list and when I figure out how to block the number I will do it.

Only 'Pennsylvania' on the ID.

Out of area, no familiar #, out of area, out of state, political BS, no phone #, surveys, NO ANSWER!

That's it.

And I keep detailed records of who and when separately for the day that I can possibly get retribution.

I don't usually answer a call I don't recognize but I did this time. It was female, taking a survey on AARP members and how they felt about age discrimination in the work force. I did not have an opinion for her.
But now that I think about it, how does she know if I am an AARP member?

The above number keeps calling me - now I have it call blocked. I will have to figure out how to report it to the fcc and do that also!

got a call from this number @ 3:05pm 10 May 14, it Saturday scumbag and I'm not going to buy, give you a credit card number, but will report you for calling. The FTC and FCC need to deport your A$$ to Saudi Arabia where they will gladly
chop your head off for this kind of harassment. $10,000.00 fine for your phone company for each call might break this crap up!
