That suck your phone bill is going to be very high they are after money you call them back you get charged 20$ the time you call and $9 per minute

My husband and I have Straight Talk phones and are getting these phone calls every day, from numbers 268-762-0034, 268-762-0025, 268-762-0027.  We don't answer and certainly won't be calling back.

Got call last night.  Rang twice and hung up.  It said call from Antigua/Barbados on caller ID.  News report on ABC last night had warned people about getting scam calls.  Googled the number and blocked all the numbers that were listed for these scammers.

Got a call from this number at 7:18 pm. I didn't even hear my phone ring but I wouldn't have answered a number I don't know with such a weird area code. No message left and they didn't try a second time. By the responses on here, I'm ignoring it, maybe blocking the number with my carrier, chalking it up to spam. Thanks for the warnings.

Message JIX. This us cellular number is no longer in service.  Well how in the hell did it just call my phone???

Listen maybe we need to boycot the cell phone companys for not blocking these calls.  This goes on several times a day.  Both land lines and cell phones...but if verizon know about this maybe we need to not renew our contracts.  I am only hearing about verizon!!!!

268-762-0034 called me at 12:40 am.  Isn't it illegal to call AFTER 9pm and BEFORE 8am? Any calls at this time on a work night, I assume are emergencies!!! This number needs to be stopped!!!

Got a call...it rang once and then hung up.  Since I don't answer numbers I don't know, I would not have answered it.  I also don't call numbers back that don't leave a message.  I feel if they are calling me, they will leave a message if I don't answer.  Figured it is a tele marketer or a scam call.

Missed calls from 268-762-0027 and 268-762-0034. Unfortunately, returned the latter call. Not surprisingly, especially since I have now read about this scam on this website and a Verizon wireless community website, the call was not answered. Requested a block on these numbers.

I got a call from this number to my cell phone Sunday evening 5:23 PM - right before the Super Bowl!!  It's the only call I've gotten from that number and I NEVER return a call before checking it out for scams. I do seem to get several calls a week that are out of my area code, "unavailable" calls with no message left.  I know I can block them from my home phone and from e-mail, but does anyone know if I can block calls from my cell phone?

Got a call on 01/28/2014 from 268-762-0040 and 02/01/2014 from 268-762-0034.  Same as listed from other people here, rang once and they hung up.  I didn't call back.  Very annoying.

Number was unusual so didn't answer or returned call!

Calling at 8am on a week end

I get calls from this number and similar numbers daily. Usually around 6:00 a.m. I block them as soon as I get them, but then I'll get a call the next day from a similar number, but the last 2 numbers are different. I've never answered, but I'm positive it's some type of scammer.

8:37 a.m. on a Sunday to my cell...my one day to sleep late.  Would love to bi*** slap whoever is doing this!  Blocked number and area code from further nuisance.  DON'T FALL FOR THIS CRAP!

Got call from 268 762 0034 and 268 762 0028, one at 10:30 pm, (Central Time) and the other at 1 pm.  Scammers.  I never answer calls I do not recognize or call them back.  The caller ID reads, Antigua/Bermuda.  Blocked numbers, but according to comments above, they have several different numbers

Area code 268 is the telephone area code of Antigua and Barbuda. The 268 area code, or "(ANT)" was created during a split from the original 809 area code which was done on or around the date April 1996. The 268 area code is part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP).

When in Antigua and Barbuda, use the seven digits alone. When calling to Antigua and Barbuda from anywhere in the United States or Canada simply dial 1(268) + seven digit phone number.

One Ring Scam[edit]

The 268 area code has been linked to a scam known as the "one ring scam". Which attempts to illicit a response from the victim by calling, usually at odd hours, then hanging up almost immediately with the hope that they will be curious enough to call the number back. When the victim does this, an automatic $19.95 international call fee is charged to their account, as well as $9.98/min. This scam has also been linked to Grenada (area code 473), Antigua (area code 268), Jamaica (area code 876), the Dominican Republic (area code 809) and the British Virgin Islands (area code 284).
