You will be CHARGED if you call them back!

Norman Bryant just called me from 268-762-0076.  The # would not let me call or msg him.  He owes me $803.55 plus interest for bailing out of jail in Bartholomew Co., IN  8-19-2013.  The man knows I am disabled and depleted my checking acct to do this.  His date of birth is 12-3-1960.  Full name is Norman Albert Bryant.  His last known address is 645 Parkwood Lane, Wichita, KS 67208.  Any help will be appreciated.  I have NO way to recover the money he has stolen from me.  Please leave a message with the Washington Co. I got one of these calls on my cellphone also. There was a news story today on a local tv starion about this scam. They're robocalls from the Carribbean. They call cellphones and only ring once, so it registers as a missed call. When you call the number back, you are charged an international rate of $19.95 for the first minute, and $9.00 for each additional minute. DON'T CALL BACK THE NUMBER!!  Also, report the number to your cell carrier, and they will block it.

Just called me too but now I have blocked the number.

Got a call on my cell phone at about 3:40 PM.  I didn't answer.  I pushed ignore call.  I do not answer calls that I do not recognize.  Just wanted to report this because I've been getting several of these from different numbers as of lately.

Well am I special or what?!!!  I've have had two (2) calls from (268)762-0076 within two (2) days!!! Today's call was at 7:15 A.M.! Once again, I'm telling everyone ... the calls and area code are not located in the United States. The call source comes from Antigua/Barbuda.

They call and hang up after only one (1) ring. Why??? Because they want you to call them back and sock you $19.99 per minute ... sometimes the charge is MORE!!! Be very careful; these idiots KEEP TRYING AND TRYING.

IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE AREA CODE OR PHONE NUMBER ... DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK THE NUMBER!!

A suggestion - if you have Verizon Cell Phone Service, you can have the number blocked. Just call *611 and request the number blocked. OR if you are a Verizon customer ... log in to your My Verizon Account and block the number yourself.  

I am already on the national do not call registy. Have been for years, They do not care they call anyways. I have received calls in the last couple days from 2 of their #'s.

Received a call from 268-76-0076, one ring, attempted to call it back, luckily my carrier advised me that I am not authorized to make calls to that number. Googled the number and found this post. I use Sprint, this is not sensitive to one carrier. Glad to know that Sprint will not a person to call internationally if they do not subscribe to that service.

I keep getting calls from a number form Artigua/Barbuda and I have blocked the number and they keep calling blocking the number don't work. Do anyone have any suggestions.

I got this call 3 days ago... didn't think much of until watching the news this am.  I found out that there is a new scam happening and by calling back, your phone bill will be charged like a 900 number (didn't realize that they still existed, for one); $20 initially and $9 for every minute you wait on hold for "an operator"!!

Received call at 5:57 a.m. pst.  Also received call from 268-762-0021 at 4:19 p.m. pst.

My calls came from 268-762-0130 and 268-762-0026. Same deal. It only rings a couple of times.
So if you try to block them, they just change numbers.

Call your carrier. This number called me yesterday and I answered not thinking. I called AT &T today because I was concerned and they said it's happening a lot and that my account will be charged around $20 in the next few days. They went ahead and refunded it, but said to check my next bill to see if it's charged more.

Just got this call on my cell phone, answered and they hung up.

Keeps calling

I got a call from(268) 762-0076 twice today. I don't know how they got this number

Just got a message that I had missed a call from this number so I looked it up here first. I am not going to call back an unknown number. Irks me as do so many unsolicited calls.

268-762-0076 - rang once and did not pick up. Reporting to block with carrier.

Call at midnight rang twice and hang up no message. Didn't answer, blocked the number so I shouldn't hear from them again hopefully.

Checked my cell phone and message said "missed call"  the number that called was268-762-0076. I did not recognize the number and did not call it. Igoogled the area code and learned it was  out of the country,so I thought it was  a mistake on the part of the caller. This is a scam and needs to be stopped.

Received a call from 268-762-0076, something about every time I call I get an entry in a contest. Hung up immediately. Immediately called Verizon to report and to flag my account to help prevent any wrongful charges. Agent stated that they will not know if illegal charges show up until the billing cycle closes. They will refund charges if they appear.

As a follow-up to my post from yesterday, I called my cell carrier--Verizon Wireless--to report the scam call. They put a 90 day block on that number. They can block 5 numbers total. Now l can get an uninterrupted night's sleep!

Thank God for prepaid phones. I just received a call from 268 area code.

I've received 2 scam calls in the last few days from  268-762-0028 and 268-762-0076 both caller id show Antuqua/Barbuda.  

Dubbed the ?One Ring? scam, a computer sends thousands of calls to random cell phone numbers, rings once, and then disconnects. Curious customers who return the missed call could be charged $19.95 for an international call fee and an additional $9 per-minute charge, a release from the BBB said.

Called, it rang once, then hung up. Second such call  this week, both with same first 6 digits but different last 4.
