We've received 3 calls from this number, 278-533-8578 --- at 2:12 Fri 4/18, again 9:25 Sat 4/19, and again 12:09 Sat 4/19. The Friday call is the only time I actually talked to anyone - the other 2 times the caller has hung up when I said hello. I do not know why he keeps calling back since when I spoke to the guy I was pretty rude and told him not to call again! He has a foreign (Indian?) accent and it sounds like he is calling from the boiler room of the TItanic - honestly, such a loud background did not even sound like a call center.  When he asked if I knew where he was calling from I told him it sounded like a foreign country and he said no, from Microsoft headquarters in downtown LA. Then he was very aggressive and told me I must listen to him so I said ok and he told me that my computer had a virus, all the same stuff other people have said. I told him not to call again before I hung up but, obviously, I made no impression on him since we've had 2 calls back. I do not understand why there's no way to block a call from a number so many people are reporting!!

I just got a call from this number.  The man had an accent and was very rude.  Said I had a "report" sent to him from my computer.  What a loser!  Don't give out any info!  He was very argumentative!

How do we ever put a stop to these ridiculous phone calls?  Ive asked them to STOP calling, but they used very nasty vulgar words that I can't repost on here.  I've called my phone company and even they can't block these calls, HELP!!! 4 calls already today.

What a bunch of tools these guys are.  Unless you know someone from Ann Arbor Michigan, don't even bother answering the call.  IT IS A TOTAL SCAM.  If you do answer, just hang up right away.

I get about 1 or 2 of these calls per week.  Just call the person a Bakrichod (Hindi for "someone who likes to screw sheep").  They hang up right away.

Just got a call from this number and did not answer.  These calls come from India, does anyone know how to cuss in Hindie (sp?) as I SO want to tell the a-hole what I think of his Mom AND the cow she rode into town on in his own language!

Just got a call from this number too.  Phone ID showed "Michigan Call".  

They told me they were Microsoft technical dept based in Los Angeles, and that there was some malicious virus on my computer.  Had very heavy foreign (Indian?) accents.  I asked them to prove they were Microsoft employees.  They were trying to instruct me to do something on my computer, but I thought it seemed sketchy, so just hung up on them.  They've tried calling back twice already.    Glad I hung up!!!

A scam - this guy called claiming to be from Microsoft and wanted to "help me with my accounts".  He got an earful of expletives before I hung up on him.

calls and says he's calling from my "computer company". Is always Indian or Pakistani accented person. No idea what they want. Happens maybe 4 times a year. Now when I see the number I just pick up the phone and scream and hang up. ;o)

Looks like its the old Microsoft ploy aimed more so for elderly folks . I live in an gated community (55+ age) , and this scam was rampant last year in our area . I do computer IT work and so everyone in my neighbor hood asked if these calls ere legit .... they are NOT!!!

Received a phone call from 278-533-8578 on April 5, 2014 @ 13:45. A male with an accent (possibly Indian) claimed to be working for Microsoft saying the same thing about my computer being compromised. I said I was too busy at the moment (was at work) and he'd have to call back if he still wanted to talk. He asked for a call back time, I said 18:00.

Today, April 7, 2014 I get two back to back calls (10:40 & 10:59) from this same number. I'm going to call Microsoft and see if they even know about the scam or if it is legit.

I got a call a moment ago from one of these bozos pretending to be from Microsoft. First off, you can clearly hear a bazillion other people in his workspace which, if you know how Microsoft works, is NOT how they set up their staff. Guy had an accent, but I could not identify it other than that it was not European. I told him that someday karma would get him for all his illegal activities.

I received a call, Indian accent, recorded the entire conversation. Asked him multiple times the company he was calling from and each time he pronounced it quickly and slurred. Tried to tell me my computer was hacked. I told him I don't have a computer or laptop and he quickly hung up.

Guy identified himself as working for Windows Support. I asked him not to call here again. He kept talking so I raised my voice and asked him again. He said "f*** you, you moth******er" and hung up.

November 29th 2013 I got the same call saying he was with microsoft and that my computer had many viruses. I paid them $88 to fix it.  After a few days I took my computer to a technician and they removed the virises.
Yesterday February 24, 2014 He called me again and said they were going to refund my money.  He already had my atm card number but he wanted the security code from the back of the card.  I told him he didn't need that number  to put money in my account.  I hung up.  I telephoned my bank and they are going to put the money back in my account.  He is from India. Don't ever believe their BS.  It is a scam.

Received call saying my computer was being hijacked by someone in Malaysia and he represented Microsoft. Ask him where Microsofts corp. headquarters were located and he said santa Monica so I hung up.

Male with an Indian/Pakistani accent said his name was Jaden and he was calling from Windows support on your computer. Told him I didn't have a computer and the phone went dead. So sick of getting these scam phone calls.

Even i too received the calls from same number and hacked my system

I have been receiving these calls too. I asked for the name of his company, address & phone number.  He could not provide me any information.  He skirted around and kept telling me my computer was going to crash.  He had a Pakistani/Indian accent.  I call Microsoft directly and they said this is a scam and to not entertain these phone calls.  

Seems pretty scetchy,  got the same phonecall from a lady with a foreign accent. She said my hard drive was infected and that I had to get on my computer. She asked for my name but didnt give any details on the problem or how she was notified. I hung up after she asked my name several times.

I got the same call from the same number saying that he is from Microsoft technical support, that one my computers is infected and it is about to crash. He had an Pakistani or Indian accent or imitated. when I asked questions he got frustrated. I hung up.
