Received a call from this number on June 13, called back right away and no answer (no ringing either, just went straight to saying "this person does not have a voicemail account set up"

I do not go to the US nor do I shop there.  No way for them to get my number.  Must be random dialing.  Wish I could randomly send back a nuke signal to fry their auto-dialer.  I'd pay good money for that.  Better than wasting my cell minutes for absolutely nothing  but for some scammer to profit.

Helloooo NSA... bombing  nukes, detonate, terror ... Now that I have your attention, I am requesting on behalf of all us Canadians, please deal with these scammers with extreme prejudice.

281-382-6532 someone from this number called again.  Don't know who it is or how to find out who it is.  But were I to discover the company's or outfit's names I'd call them and offer a piece of my mind.  How do we stop this kind of nonsense?  Seems as if the regulators and our highly paid politicians either don't care to help or don't know how to help stop this insidious waste of time.  Or is it a waste of time, for those making the calls?  Maybe not, as they must make money from someone or they would stop all by themselves.  Yet, the rest of us have to be inconvenienced.

matches my previous post in terms of carrier though i've also seen southern bell so the accuracy of pay per use number trackers.  i have to wonder.

i also wonder if buy and toss disposable cellphones are used sometimes.  makes punishing someone impossible.

sadly the number trackers are pay for use or possibly a way to gather info on you by signing up so i didn't bother but there should be a way for the CDN gov. to do that on behalf of citizens once organized complaint is recognized.

Two cell phones in Ontario, I'm on Rogers for both (one is for work).  I never give out my work cell # except to coworkers, so not sure if Rogers sold a list or not.  Annoying.

Called my cell; was busy so didn't answer.  So - the fake survey/win points or dollars towards cruise scam again, eh?

First - these are scammers.  Do not answer; do not press ANY buttons; just hang up.  This is being run by organized crime - they aren't real companies; they aren't looking up numbers - they use a computer-based VoIP system to fake/spoof the numbers they seem to call from.  They use a robo-dialer to call number after number.  They DO share lists of 'active' numbers (why you don't answer or press buttons - it confirms your number is 'live' and they'll keep calling and share it with other crooks).

This has nothing to do with an actual cruise/timeshare con.  Check the RCMP Top Ten Scams website - they are after you to confirm your personal data, ID/address/etc., and anything they can get about your credit or income level.  They use this to create Fake IDs!  To commit fraud using YOUR name, and other crimes.

Second - this has nothing to do with Do Not Call lists. Crooks don't care about that; legit companies do an are subject to financial penalties for non-compliance - so complaints do work over time.  Legitimate survey/pollsters do comply although by law they are entitled to call all citizens - they will respect if you request removal in Canada.  As taxpayers, you should provide feedback to the people making decisions on your behalf - its in your best interest they know what the public is thinking.  eMail your elected official encouraging them to support their anti-fraud units, and beef up your privacy laws!  (Use the correct channel to complain.)

Third - keep up the good work posters; but please remember your manners!  It takes time and effort (sometimes updating legislation, and international cooperation) to gather evidence to prosecute and shut these scammers down for good.  I email every fraud attempt to RCMPs anti-fraud unit at info@antifraud.ca.

This has been happening to me too ever sice I got my phone though, strangely enough, I never actually get called, it's just in my call log. I'm in Calgary also, with fido. I really hope this stops, it's beyond  annoying to always have non-existant missed calls spam me... urgh

Have had many calls from this number in Texas on my cell and personal number. They never leave a message. I tried answering one time to ask them to take me off their list, but no one was there. Would love to get these clowns to stop calling!

Folks - if you don't know, don't answer...IGNORE is the only way it will stop. Registering with DNCL is a mistake, it WILL be accessed by those who still can call (charities, newspapers, out of country,...) Texas will not stop calling....IGNORE
