Received this message also. Call received from unverified sender - 917-575-9651 and cryptic message to call 281 403 4003. No mention of HSBC in the message.
I am a Verizon customer.

I got the same exact message as sender "J" posted earlier.  I just searched reverse phone look up and says that a man named , "Kenneth Pape" from Houson TX owns this line.

Is everyone verizon? Might be a Verizon compromise if not everyone has HSBC.

When u called did it say it was Actually hsbc?

Got two of them today from
917-172-9816 and 917-679-1466

Clearly a scam or some violation of do-not-call.

My text message  also had this number listed:

917 873 9273

I tried sending "stop" to this number and it keeps sending it to me. Same thing - HSBC. in a text message

I do not have an account with HSBC and I call the number and they want me to enter my account number.  They keep texting me!@!!!

The same this just happened to me. The txt was marked "Unverified-Sender" and read (exactly as shown):

got a text from a different number saying to call HSBC at this 281 number.  I've never had an account with HSBC.  I called the number listed on the HSBC website and they have no record of an account for me.
