We are the management for the property at 942 Benjamin in Grand Rapids. We have been recieving calls about this posting on Craigslist under the number of (281)901-0813 it is a "Scam". Please do an online search for our rental address and you will find our listing on Rentlinx.com and Zillow plus several other sights but not Craigslist. We are renting the home for $825. you will be able to find all the correct information on the other sights.

The house was listed on craigslist was to good to be true. I even tried to look up the name she gave me on facebook, didnt find anything should have known then that it was a scam. I still sent her a txt but had no respond..yet. Here is what she wrote me:
Am the owner of the house and my name is Ericka L Gordon,$500 for the
deposit and $500 for the monthly rent,$80 for the pet deposit,its 3
bedroom, 1.5 bathroom,  with lots of appliance for your use and the
utilities included in the rent are water, gas and electric. Its a
lovely home  and you will enjoy living in there with your family
without any problem.Here is the address of the house 942 Benjamin Ave

Same story in Eugene, OR, on craigslist. Same excuse about being in the hospital. I am notifying a personal friend in the FBI to see what can be done about tracking them down. We spoke with the neighbor of the listed home (Tamaris L. Landsman), and apparently they used her name on the listing. If they are caught, I hope that they are charged with identity fraud, as well as whatever else they could be charged for. I have friends overseas that have set up a relay phone that has a US number in order to call friends for very cheap. Not sure if these things can be tracked very easily, so there may be nothing that can be done to stop them.

This is so scandalous.. This just happened to me (a single mother with a toddler looking to start over in life). I am in Temecula and there is this 3bdrm 2bth with identical email as listed below with the others... Someone needs to notify somebody who can put a stop to this horrible woman!!! She is screwing with peoples livelihoods!!!!

I received a message similar to the other post for me to rent a property at 170 wallcott Ave in Jackson, mi! I think its a shame that someone would try to steal money from people that may not have much and may cause them to be homeless in the end, I hope u catch this lady! She used the name Amanda L Curtis and said she was in the hospital in Niles ohio!

The same thing just happened to me on the Jackson craigslist site. But she identified herself as Amanda L Curtis...she said she had an accident some weeks ago that affected her back bone and hearings and that shes getting treatment and preparing for her surgery. Then she told me to western union the money to her brothers house. she said his name is Jamie Rounds Address:314 Wood ave SE Nile's, OH..That's when i new it was a scam. so i called the company that was actually renting the house out and asked what the owners name is and they said she has scammed many people and that she wasn't the owner..To bad i wasn't that dumb to actually western union her money. This is what she wrote me back in the email

Same thing, same number, a really nice house too good to be true at this price, in Modesto California on Glaston Avenue.

So I found a house on craigslist out in buckeye Az, just posted yesterday for 600 a month. i responded with an email and they responded with a txt from this number and thought I'd see what popped up when googling it. Well this page popped up and sure enough nothing good. Any ways still waiting for another reply...  Thx for posting!! Definitely on the look out now

Wow, it's happening in Broken Arrow OK.  I was had a feeling it was a scam but I contacted the number anyway.  Same story about being laid up in the hospital.  I was pissed when I realized what she was doing!  I told her about how sentive my situation was and I really was hoping for a break for my son and I.  I also told her I hope she f****ng sleeps well at night for what she tried to do.

SCAM !!  This is the phone number for a (stupid) scam artist plying her scam on the Chicago Craigslist site.  I am the listing agent for a rental property (listed at $1,4000).  She identifies herself as Laura Branin (fake name, surely) and is presenting herself as the owner and asking $800 per month for the same rental listing.  

Tells the interested parties that she's laid up in a hospital in CO, and can't get them into the home.  Insists that they only call or text her phone number.  Suggests they look at it from the outside and then will likely ask for the first month's rent, security deposit, and pet deposit (her email is pasted below).  The Craigslist ad has been removed, but no telling where else she's popping up these con games.  Idiot.  Bottom line; Buyer beware!  Here's her answer to a legitimate inquiry on the ad:

Here's an idea.  Flood this number with calls and texts.  Let her know she's been called out, and there's a bunch of honest folks who'd love to meet her (him?) personally.
